Our fees range from £27.40 for a 30 minute visit to £34.60 for a 1 hour visit during the week
and £37.00 at weekends.
An additional 40p per visit is charged for fuel for the care assistant.

A1 looked after my dad in the later stages of his fight with prostate cancer, they treated him with the utmost dignity and kept a smile on his face. Sadly he lost his fight but having amazing care enabled us to focus on quality time.

On the whole, the care is satisfactory. Some carers are more 'caring'. There are those who rush the job and do not always do common sense things, such as put a cardigan on if the weather is cold.
The care is usually rushed and rarely do the carers stay for the full 30 minutes.
The evening care, in
particular, is rushed. This month, November, the average time spent with my mother is 12 minutes and she is paying for 30. She would like a more relaxed routine and a little time spent chatting before bed would be nice.

I am never there when carers arrive at my mum's. A bit ridiculous when my Mum can not have her medicine because the carer doesn't know what a 5ml medicine spoon looks like. Out of order when my Mum cannot have a suet and bacon Roly poly for her dinner as carer refused to heat it in the microwave as
wasn't in a packet with heating instructions.

Nicky is responsible for Domiciliary and Community Care Support Teams and the daily duties/tasks that keep the Company fully compliant and working within the Care Standards and guidelines. Nicky compliments and heads the full management team that make A1 Home Care one of the most quality driven Companies offering care provision in the Essex area. Nicky has a considerable amount of experience working with the elderly and those with Specialist and Complex care needs.
Nicky has a lot of empathy and always makes clients and their families feel at ease and takes the pressure off relatives making sure the client has everything they need to be comfortable and feel secure in their own home.

Patrick O'Callaghan

Job Title: CEO/Managing Director Joined: 2007

Patrick Started the Company back in 2007/2008, he along with Care Manager Nicky Cook has built up the business making sure that the team offers the highest quality care and support to clients and their families.
Patrick has now handed the reigns for the day to day operations over to Nicky Cook, (Registered Care Manager and Head of Operations).
Patrick now mainly deals with strategy and the finances of the company.
