The service is backed up by a team of fully trained and experienced office staff headed up by a registered care manager with a wealth of experience to give you reassurance should any issues arise.


A1 Home Care offers a variety of support services/packages including personal care, carrying out domestic chores and palliative care.

Funding & Fees

Our fees range from £27.40 for a 30 minute visit to £34.60 for a 1 hour visit during the week
and £37.00 at weekends.
An additional 40p per visit is charged for fuel for the care assistant.

A1 Home Carers have made it possible for me to keep my husband at home. Without fail they are friendly, cheerful and patient and complete their tasks with skill that comes only from excellent training. The carers enjoy h helping people are never critical but always encouraging. A1 carers made a valuable

I have found A1 Home Care Ltd to be very efficient and always ready to listen to any changes necessary. Most of the carers are highly experienced but some are willing to listen to any better, alternative ways of doing things. Very professional and respectful.

I have been a user of your services for many years and rely very much on the help given. I am blind in one eye and sight in the other is deteriorating. I am also reliant on a Zimmer frame to move about. I try to remain positive and I enjoy the chats with the carers and am very grateful for all they

This is an excellent company which has obviously worked very hard to cope with the problems caused by COVID 19. Apart from the very occasional and inevitable 'glitch', service has been warm, friendly and professional and I am very pleased with, and grateful for, the care and help I have received.

I have learned that caring for the elderly does not have fixed requirements, instead, it varies with time and it is extremely personal. The team at A1 have helped us care for my mum and provide her with a comfortable life. They have listened to my mum and the family and advised us accordingly. They
have been tolerant, flexible, respectful and caring, nothing we have asked for has been too much. The carers who attend to my mum have become a closer family to her than her actual family, she is very fond of them all. Simply put we depend on A1 and would be lost without them.

A1 are a professional firm with professional standards. This is usually a positive position and has been a major reason why we have had A1 look after our older family members for over the last ten years. Another reason why I recommend A1 is the carers themselves. The majority of carers are very friendly
and know the basics of their jobs. Some individuals have made A1 stand out even further and having those individuals as regular carers has made a big difference to the standard of care.


The A1 manager and her team have been very helpful and flexible in providing the right individuals and at the right times, which has made the difference in the standard of care provided. Having a team of regulars who are familiar with the operation of care within this household has meant that the required care has been carried out. Occasionally some carers who are not familiar with the care guidelines of this household are sent, and this does not always go so well.

A1 Home Care responded to a recent crisis in my family with great care and consideration and tailored their input to meet my mother's changing needs. The flexibility offered was very good and I appreciated being able to speak with the management team so easily. All the carers showed respect for my mother's
independence and it was really helpful being able to access their daily care notes via an app.

We are extremely lucky to have a regular carer in the morning that gives my husband confidence and a safe feeling. Evening carers vary but after a few visits the trust is there. All care is given as per the support plan which gives me the confidence all is well. Any concerns are reported to me as carer,
so action can be actioned if necessary.

Nicky is responsible for Domiciliary and Community Care Support Teams and the daily duties/tasks that keep the Company fully compliant and working within the Care Standards and guidelines. Nicky compliments and heads the full management team that make A1 Home Care one of the most quality driven Companies offering care provision in the Essex area. Nicky has a considerable amount of experience working with the elderly and those with Specialist and Complex care needs.
Nicky has a lot of empathy and always makes clients and their families feel at ease and takes the pressure off relatives making sure the client has everything they need to be comfortable and feel secure in their own home.

Patrick O'Callaghan

Patrick Started the Company back in 2007/2008, he along with Care Manager Nicky Cook has built up the business making sure that the team offers the highest quality care and support to clients and their families.
Patrick has now handed the reigns for the day to day operations over to Nicky Cook, (Registered Care Manager and Head of Operations).
Patrick now mainly deals with strategy and the finances of the company.
