We have always been very happy with the care provided by Bluebird Care Epsom & Kingston. I have found the administrative side very good - easily contactable, friendly and flexible. My mum has been very happy with all her carers, she has liked them all and found them accommodating. She described her main carer as a 'gem'. When my mum had developed an infection her carer noticed she wasn't quite herself and reported this, her doctor and myself were notified immediately and so she was treated promptly. Bluebird Care have always been very reliable, there has never been an occasion where the carer has failed to turn up. I would certainly go back to Bluebird Care if the need for care arose in the future.

Overall Experience

Overall very good, we've used Bluebird previously in Devon and they were good then. Choose to use again in Epsom and like any care company you need to match the carer with the client. Sometimes it requires two or three visits to find the one that works best. The various carers have all been very polite, efficient and really nice people which has been great. Some require better training as they are fairly new but that's the same for most companies. Overall the carer my mum has now is excellent, Bluebird is a bit more expensive than some other companies but I'm happy to pay the premium for the quality of carer my mum has and happy to recommend Bluebird to others. The only negative from the experience is that the communication from the local office when there is a sudden or late change of carer often is late or patchy at best. These things happen but it's the way it's handled could be a bit better. That is minor compared to the overall service which is very good.

Overall Experience

My husband needed care in the morning to help with washing, dentures, application of some creams, dressing and tidying of bathroom and emptying and cleaning of night bottles. With their help, a suitable starting date and time was agreed. It was started on 18th January and from the outset, it was a nice experience both my husband and myself. The carers were punctual, courteous, pleasant and efficient without being overbearing and did what was requested very well. We are very happy with the service.

Overall Experience
Through a process of trial and error, I am now happy with my regular carers, one in particular. Some carers I have had have been very incompetent and frankly just not up to the task. Perhaps their training has not been rigorous enough? However, when I have had to inform the office staff to no longer send the particular person again, they have been generally helpful.

I do find it quite difficult to book extra time-slots for occasional one-offs, which is frustrating.

Overall Experience

Bluebird Care Sutton have been wonderful in their help and support with our mum over this year. Friendly, efficient and always willing to listen and help. The carers seem very kind and I am particularly happy that Mum has now got a regular carer, who she really likes.

Overall Experience
A review needs to relate to now and then. My father has been with Bluebird Care for over 5 years now. The service has been mixed, inconsistent and disappointing over this period. Suggested improvements have been slow in coming and some little to show for it on previous reviews with similar problems still appearing.
But, over this current review period, helped by changes in management, I have been pleased with their approach, namely:
Less unallocated days/slots and changing carer/times of visits. I have found so much of my time spent chasing and resolving issues like this in the past it is a welcome relief. Scheduled visits now for the coming week ahead sent out in good time and reasonably consistent. Management is helpful to resolve possible issues that arise.
Quality of staff has improved, a few are outstanding.

A welcomed improvement has been a long time coming. Having a good management and team is key and the right attitude. I would like to see a continued, consistent improvement.

I cannot recommend Bluebird Care Sutton enough! They provided outstanding home care visits to my late Grandmother, who was comfortable, nurtured and safe as humanly possible in her final months. They offer a wide range of care packages that suit many family situations and have been a complete lifeline to my Grandma (also to me!) with their great communication and I always felt completely relaxed knowing that my Grandma was in such safe and caring hands. The carers always look very smartly presented and are all highly professional and friendly. I would like to thank the manager and her team so much for everything! First-class service!

Overall Experience
Over the last year, there has been a great deal of change in staff in the office which meant that I didn't feel particularly supported, however, this has now improved and I have a very good relationship with all the office staff. I feel they know my mum and understand the support that she needs.

All the carers are lovely and provide excellent care. There is a regular group of carers who visit and this is important as mum has Alzheimer's so needs continuity. The other advantage of having the same carers on a regular basis is that they can see if something isn't right with my mum. If she is not her usual self. Recently one of the carers noticed she wasn't her normal self, phoned the NHS helpline and rapid response were sent. The Rapid Response was very impressed that it had been the carer who had phoned.

When visiting my father I have met various carers provided by Bluebird and I have been impressed by their industry and by their friendliness. I have also been impressed by the back up offered by the staff in head office who have dealt with my queries promptly and courteously.

Our family were the main carers for my mother-in-law when she became a widow three years ago. After two years, her demands grew and we were finding it difficult coping. Reluctantly we phoned Bluebird and arranged for them to visit once a week. From the start, they were simply amazing and we gradually increased the visits over time. When we went on holiday, we could check on her by reading the care notes that were made available on the phone app after each visit. She loved all of her “Bluebirds” and they, in turn, loved her back. She would check the rota to see who was coming to see her and the girls would put on her Shirley Bassey and listen to her stories. The kitchen was full of laughter when the Bluebirds came to visit. When her journey neared its end it was deeply touching to see how genuinely upset they all were that she was leaving us. I honestly don’t know how we would have coped without Bluebird and have nothing but praise for the loving care and attention that they gave her.

Overall Experience

We hired Bluebird Care (Sutton) after being impressed with the care by a close family member. Bluebird Care (Sutton) well exceeded our expectations. The care was amazing: Two teams visiting my dad were highly professional, well trained and experienced but without being distant. All the carers were friendly and helpful and took great care of him- especially in the last few weeks of his life. The office staff were helpful and efficient. I would not have any hesitation in recommending Bluebird Care (Sutton) to anyone.

I strongly object to the use of open pass! My mother and husband both need the services of Bluebird. Therefore I rely on the carer to record daily visits on paper. For my mother, I downloaded the app only to be told that I will have to pay extra to access info for which I already pay. Therefore I have to check that my mother's needs are met physically rather than just reading the carers notes.

Always able to speak to staff without undue delay on the phone. Still, occasions when office time of visit for food preparation is changed, this is not relayed on, ie 'no call' advising of this causing concern, as this impacts evening call. Management sometimes do not appear to follow up their actions, positive points are allocating key workers and being consistent with this standard, one of these in the preparation of food is to a high standard. Live in carer is well selected and more than meets requirements.

Overall Experience

Bluebird Care were efficient and professional in gathering relevant details of the care package I required to ensure my mothers continued health whilst living alone in sheltered accommodation. Visiting Carers were kind and my mother was pleased to see them. Due to the fact that I live along way from my mother I found increasing confidence in Bluebirds staff to cope with their clients deteriorating health requirements.

After the initial 'blip', which was dealt with in a professional way, we have been very happy with the service provided. We have noticed that regular input from non family members seems to have helped mum. She seems a bit 'brighter' and more together.

The client has been very happy with the level of service. Where there have been hiccups these have been quickly remedied, I think it would be helpful if the hand written logs that were discontinued were reinstated.
