Trust, trusting, trustworthy... Bluebird (Twickenham) have, via their wonderful carers allowed us to have trust in them, be trusting of their abilities and know that, they are all trustworthy. Now that should be enough but, Maria, Jisna, Lourdina, Joyce, Dinushi, Ramona, Kanan, Naz, Kate, Kamala, Nana, Tunde, Sheela, Chizoba, Soumya and Shimrandeep (and probably a few others I can't recall) have all been so caring and kind to my Mum and have enabled us to keep Mum at home for which I will always be so grateful. Recently she had a further bleed and after a week in hospital returned home quite weak. Bluebird were able to provide one of her regular carers to live in for a week. The care was professional at every level, we were kept updated and regular assessments on her progress given. The carer was observant with attention to detail, from calling on medical help to deal with an infection to raising the chair level, cooking favourite meals, providing conversation, encouragement and reassurance.

She was bedridden for 2 months and had a live in carer, looking after her day and night.
This level of care was essential as she was unable to do anything for herself and it also allowed her to stay in her own home whilst she recovered.

The carers who looked after me for two weeks were well qualified and experienced. They were friendly, efficient, sensitive to requirements and always punctual. The back-up admin and supervision were also good.

Bluebird responded straight away to our request for carers to provide company to my mum at home who is living with dementia. The carers and office team are professionals and work together to respond to changing needs as they arise. A year and a half later we still have the same two carers who initially visited along with others mum has come to know. They are very kind and have become an invaluable part of daily life. We are now looking at live-in care options with Bluebird. So thankful that mum is being supported to continue doing the things she enjoys and to remain living in her own home.

From the moment i contacted Bluebird they were so efficient and quickly set up the care i needed for my husband. This was 24 hour care and everything worked so well. All the carers were punctual and helpful and in particular in the last week of his life the carer who was there every day and attended with compassion all the complex needs of my husband was everything i could have wished for and helped me through this sad week. Another carer looked after him at night and was there to hold his hand and calm him down when he got restive They were a team and i cannot thank them enough..

After university, he worked for an NGO in New Delhi, using his law degree to change government policy and improve lives. This passion for transformative change permeates his operation of Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham. “We are changing lives for the better, providing local residents the opportunity to create their very best in-home support structure, delivered by Bluebirds. Requiring care and support can make one feel quite vulnerable. We aim to make choosing care an empowering moment, one that unlocks positive outcomes with the ultimate goal of remaining safe and happy at home.”
With his first foray into arranging care for a family member ending in disappointment, Peter notes, “Our most important ethos is to provide professional care that keeps each customer at the heart of their service… care that we would be happy for our own families to receive. Delivering a consistently compassionate, highly skilled, professional service is why two-thirds of our new customers come to us via personal recommendation.”
Peter and his young family enjoy exploring the borough with outings including Kew Gardens in the summer and ice skating at Hampton Court Palace in the winter.
Insisting his colleagues are trained beyond industry standard, each Care Assistant is encouraged to develop specialisms ranging from dementia and post-op rehabilitation to Parkinson’s, MND, complex care, challenging behaviour, palliative care and nutrition and hydration. “We aim to match each customer to their ideal Care Assistants by personality and expertise. Sarah joined Bluebird Care in 2022 as a Care Assistant to gain practical hands-on experience whilst studying for an HND in Health and Social Care. She quickly progressed within the branch, becoming a Senior Carer and later was promoted to Lead Customer Care Manager whilst also working towards her NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management. As Lead Customer Care Manager, Sarah for ensuring an exceptional customer experience, including conducting customer assessments, creating and reviewing care and support plans to ensure they meet an individual’s needs. She provides hands-on support to customers and their families so that positive outcomes are achieved, and open communication is maintained. Prior to embarking on her career in care, Sarah was a beauty therapist, but wanted to do something more meaningful and has been focused on furthering her professional development and career at Bluebird Care.
Sylwia joined Bluebird Care in 2009, having worked in a luxury care home setting, managing a dementia unit, where she gained profound insights into the tough decisions families face when arranging long-term care. This sparked a passion for providing families with purposeful guidance to make the right decisions about care for a loved one. She firmly believes that people can receive the care they need in the comfort of their own homes. With a degree in Tourism and Recreation, Sylwia wanted to develop her skills in care and completed the NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care. Now as Care Development Lead for Richmond and Twickenham, Sylwia is responsible for managing all new customer enquiries, ensuring that those looking for care get information, guidance and support to make the right care decision. She is passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience that has a positive impact on people’s lives. She will meet with families ahead of a service starting to understand their needs and preferences, so the right care team can be put in place and then continue to provide ongoing support to those receiving care and their families.
