Bluebird has given me an excellent service for two years. The only problem has been arrival times, but that has been a function of public transport, not the Bluebird helper. The help provided has been as required, assiduous, attentive, just as needed.
Reply from Tim Rowland Jones, Director and Owner at Bluebird Care Richmond & TwickenhamThank you for the opportunity to assist with your rehabilitation. To support you in remaining at home during this period of reablement by providing care has been our team's pleasure. Our service is focussed on an individualised customer experience, with emphasis on kindness, empathy, compassion, and dignity. On behalf of your Care Assistants and Customer Service Manager, we are delighted to read that your Care Assistants are 'assiduous and attentive' - what a fitting description! Industry-leading training and regular field supervisions ensure a professional, exacting standard that, we believe, is the finest in the Richmond borough. Thank you again for choosing Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham; it is our honour to be of service.

I have found the Carers from Bluebird Care to be efficient, and timely in their visits and to have all the skills needed to assist me, in order that I can remain in my own home. My present carer is able to complete the necessary tasks and chat with me about anything I wish to chat about. I am never
made to feel a nuisance if I have a hissy fit about something that has driven me nuts, usually the computer not doing what I want. If I need to contact the office, I have a choice of telephone or email, and I always receive a timely response to my questions. All in all a very efficient organisation.
Reply from Tim Rowland-Jones, Director and Owner at Bluebird Care Richmond & TwickenhamIt has been our team's great pleasure to provide eleven years of outstanding home care for you. It is our goal to keep you happy and safe in your Teddington home so I am thrilled to hear this is exactly what we've accomplished.
We hire for values and train for excellence. Our care assistants receive industry-leading training that goes above and beyond standard requirements to ensure they have the skill set required to assist our customers. More importantly, we hire for innate, unteachable values: compassion, empathy, courtesy and a genuine heart for care. This combination ensures our customers experience the very best journey in care, assisted by the borough's kindest and most skilled carers.
Your dedicated Customer Care Manager ensures there is an additional layer of support and accountability, so should you ever have a query - no matter how small - you know exactly who to call. On behalf of the team at Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham, thank you for your kind words!

Bluebird Care (Richmond & Twickenham) look after my Mum who is at the beginning of dementia. She is still very much Mum but does need additional care to ensure her safety and wellbeing and allow her to carry on living in her home of over 50 years.
The carers are exceptional, the kindness, consideration
and companionship they offer is amazing and we are delighted with all the carers who look after Mum.
Reply from Tim Rowland-Jones, Director and Owner at Bluebird Care Richmond & TwickenhamThank you for your kind words. It has been our pleasure to care for your mum in her Strawberry Hill, Twickenham home. I know her care assistants and office team hold her in the highest regard. We feel privileged to support her and your whole family on your journey in care and as specialists in dementia care, with extensive training that goes above and beyond industry standard, your mum is in the very best hands. You note the care assistant's kindness - this is wonderful to hear as we hire for values: compassion, kindness and a genuine heart for care - which ensures an exceptional standard of companionship, courtesy and respect for our customers. Thank you for working collaboratively with us; on behalf of her customer service manager, care assistants and the wider team, we are delighted to support your mum.

Mum has had daily visits from Bluebird Care since 2019, and I have been very happy with the care provided. Bluebird tries to ensure that Mum has the same carers most of the time, so they get to know her and her routines. They always make time to have a little chat with her in addition to completing
the daily tasks. It gives me great peace of mind in the mornings to be able to see from the online system that Mum is OK and has had her medication. They are also very good at picking up on any changes in her health and reporting concerns. The office staff are always friendly, efficient, helpful and communication is good. I was particularly impressed with the way Bluebird managed during the Covid restrictions, doing a great job ensuring clients and staff were safe and sending weekly, informative updates about the local situation. I feel that Bluebird genuinely care about clients and their families and does their best to help people live independently.
Reply from Peter Slough, Director and Owner at Bluebird Care Richmond & TwickenhamOn behalf of her care assistants and our wider office team, we have truly enjoyed caring for your mum over the past three years in her Hampton home.
Our industry-leading online system is a marvel - whether you live two streets or two thousand miles from your loved one, it allows a real-time connection to care notes for, as you say, complete peace of mind. Safeguarding is a critical element of the care provided by our team; I'm so pleased to read you have found that any concerns regarding her health are raised and actioned promptly. I hope we can keep your mum happy at home for years to come.
On behalf of my co-director, our registered manager, our customer care manager and her dedicated care assistants, we think the world of your mum and feel privileged to support her. For our Richmond & Twickenham team, her wellbeing, safety and happiness will always come first. Thank you again for your kind words; I will be sure to pass them on.

I have always felt confident that Mum was in safe hands with Bluebird. If I have a query or request, it has been easy to contact someone and I have always had a prompt and helpful response. This has been particularly valuable to me as I live at a distance. Mum has become very fond of many of her carers
and has found them kind and attentive.
Reply from Tim Rowland-Jones, Director and Owner at Bluebird Care Richmond & TwickenhamThank you for this fantastic testimonial of our service to your mother and your family. She is a favourite customer of ours, and at an impressive 105 years old she sets the bar for longevity and grace in ageing for the whole of the borough! It has been our sincere pleasure to care for her in her Richmond home over the past three years.

My uncle has been a customer of Bluebird Care for several years and, until recently, received several visits a day from his care assistants. His dementia and physical health declined sharply, so he went into respite care in a care home for several months - not an experience he intends to repeat!
He
is now back at home and very happy with his live-in carer, who has completely changed his life. We thought having four Bluebird visits a day was good, but what a difference live-in care makes! She is transforming his life for the better.
He is regaining his strength through several gentle sessions of physio each day. The house is immaculate; she has taken such care to clean and organise his home. Spoilt with healthy, home-cooked meals and cups of coffee in the sunny garden; my uncle is a new man. As a former MP, he enjoys watching Prime Minister's Questions, Question Time and the nightly news. The live-in carer makes this happen for him. We couldn't be happier!
Reply from Peter Slough, Director and Owner at Bluebird Care Richmond & TwickenhamIt has been our pleasure to assist with your uncle's journey in care over the past six years. We've adapted his care plan as his requirements have changed, progressing naturally from domestic housework and personal care to specialised dementia care and now to live-in care. Keeping him happy, safe and healthy at his home is our top priority.

It is a pleasure to work alongside family members and advocates who care so deeply for their loved ones. On behalf of our whole team, your uncle is a unique and wonderful man who we feel honoured to support.

Sincerely,

Peter Slough, Director and Owner

Continuity and reliability have been invaluable Bluebird strengths over the last year, especially given the unprecedented problems of the coronavirus pandemic. Early on they found a main carer who tuned in to my mother's needs and provides reliable, good quality, thoughtful care. When the main carer
is off, Bluebird generally allocates from a group of carers my mother has already met. The care has been reliable, timely, consistent and caring throughout; unforeseen problems are dealt with efficiently by the out-of-hours team. The account manager has also been with us throughout, responsive and supportive. She and the office team ensure good communication and good management. My mother could not have continued living alone without Bluebird. On the basis of our experience to date, we are pleased to recommend the Richmond Bluebird office.

The team are very friendly and helpful and understand the needs of my Mum. They also understand that her needs change and so can adapt the care plan at short notice. They do their best to allocate visits to suit my Mum's desire and to match up carers that are liked by my Mum. I have used Bluebird for
both my parents and would recommend them.

I have been really impressed with the care taken to assess my parent's needs, the lady spent a good couple of hours really listening to what we were looking for.
Our carer has been faultless and there isn’t anything she doesn’t do and it is always with a smile and bounce in her step, my parents could
not be happier.

I was delighted to have a review, the first in four years. The interviewer was professional but friendly, knew how to listen. I was given the opportunity to express my opinions of the Bluebird service. I'm very grateful to Bluebird for helping me to be as independent as possible, taking care of the
important hygiene tasks I am physically unable to do (bathroom/ hoovering /removal of household rubbish). Bluebird looked after me during my first cancer treatment when I was literally helpless. I chose Bluebird because I saw how compassionately my friend/neighbour was treated when she became terminally ill carers (and trainees) come and go but the best, including my present helper, is thorough, showing a supportive interest in me as a person. Mine always asks "Is there something else I may help you with?". Schedule by post is most helpful.
It would be helpful to know the appropriate person to contact if needed: up till recently, email replies were not always reliable.

Peter Slough

Job Title: Managing Director and Owner Joined: 2021

Peter’s first experience of arranging care was fraught and riddled with anxiety. “Finding care at short notice and trying to work with companies with no customer service ethos was frustrating. That’s when I thought there must be a better way!” Fast forward to 2023 and with over a decade of industry experience, Peter owns and manages three London-based Bluebird Care offices.

After university he worked for an NGO in New Delhi, using his law degree to change government policy and improve lives. This passion for transformative change permeates his operation of Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham. “We are changing lives for the better, providing local residents the opportunity to create their very best in-home support structure, delivered by Bluebirds. Requiring care and support can make one feel quite vulnerable. Our aim is to make choosing care an empowering moment, one that unlocks positive outcomes with the ultimate goal of remaining safe and happy at home.”

With his first foray into arranging care for a family member ending in disappointment, Peter notes, “Our most important ethos is to provide professional care that keeps each customer at the heart of their service… care that we would be happy for our own families to receive. Delivering a consistently compassionate, highly skilled, professional service is why two-thirds of our new customers come to us via personal recommendation.”

Peter and his young family enjoy exploring the borough with outings including Kew Gardens in the summer and ice skating at Hampton Court Palace in the winter.

But when my grandfather’s dementia worsened I became acutely aware of the need for exceptional, empathetic care. This lived experience pushed me to open my first Bluebird Care office and set the high standards we’ve maintained for over a decade.”

Insisting his colleagues are trained beyond industry standard, each Care Assistant is encouraged to develop specialisms ranging from dementia and post-op rehabilitation to Parkinson’s, MND, complex care, challenging behaviour, palliative care and nutrition and hydration. “Our aim is to match each customer to their ideal Care Assistants by personality and expertise. Whilst our customers are at the centre of what we do, our Bluebirds are the heartbeat of the company - their kindness, compassion, and professionalism set us apart.”
