My mother and I were regular visitors to Dementia cafes in the area, they are a lifesaver. The people are so friendly, it’s a safe environment and so much information is exchanged. I have also, been present at the cycle day they arranged, what a fantastic experience and the looks on everyone’s faces said it all. The Cinema visits again were a joy to go to. A relaxed atmosphere where no one was judged and the atmosphere relaxed. (Last visit, my mum actually fell asleep and snored. Not o dole complained) These activities supplied are amazing and life-changing. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Excellent service provided, went above and beyond to provide care in a rapidly changing scenario. Very good communication with agency.
They offer a 5* service
Can't recommend Home Instead enough. From management to carers, everyone has been fantastic. Mum was well cared for, they gave her back her dignity, communication was efficient both with carers and management.
Everything is absolutely super. Many thanks.
We were over the moon with the care and compassion shown to Dad from Home Instead. From the management team, all the way through to the caregivers the staff were friendly, helpful, considerate, reliable. We can't speak highly enough of the company. If it wasn't for the fact that Dad now needs some extra help and has moved to a care home we would be more than happy to carry on with Home Instead.
Very well done, thank you.
I have been very happy with the service my husband has received. The carers have been kind and very respectful with a lovely sense of humour.
All ladies take great care of me and my home is spotless. They all help me if I need shopping and always empty my bins.
We have been really impressed by Home Instead. The carer assigned to my mum was excellent and 100% reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and whole-heartedly recommend them.
A high standard of care for my mother was provided – reassuring for me.
All the care and office staff who have been involved in the rapidly changing care needs of my friend have been extremely helpful and very flexible, and all at very short notice, and over the Christmas period which I am sure was quite difficult for them.
They have always been very willing to help in any way that they can.
The carers have been brilliant with Mum and provided support to my sister and I at a difficult time due to Mum’s failing health.
Home Instead came out within a few days to assess Dad and our needs. Within a few days, a care plan was put forward, along with carer details etc, a printable sheet to attach to dad's worktop of the carer visit schedule and photograph to help Dad with his Alzheimer's. After Dad's initial reluctance at the start of his carer visits, Home Instead worked with us to help ease the transition gently and effectively, his carer has become part of the family. Dad now looks forward to seeing him every day twice a day and we can't speak too highly of him. He has been a godsend to us in looking after dad (while we are at work and looking after a young family), in administering his medication, housework and prompting dad where required in personal care. In addition and more importantly for us as a family, his carer is also taking dad out walking in the fresh air to aid his balance, making him his meals and getting in food where necessary, and generally being an excellent companion. A wonderful find!
Exceedingly good and thoughtful care for client. Excellent support for carers. Remarkably good timekeeping. Willingness to take on many unexpected tasks. Always arrive with a smile.
Mum receives exceptional care, caregivers are extremely caring, kind, patient, constantly look at ways to care for mum, e.g. Mum is now resisting food, caregivers are now giving mum her main meal at lunchtime rather than at 5 pm. Mum will be more responsive and able to eat her meals. Caregivers report any concerns, family members notified and ambulances, doctors or other medical professionals are called as appropriate. Caregivers manage household tasks willingly and are pro-active regarding shopping (sending shopping lists to family) and putting it away. Caregivers collect medicines from the local pharmacy. In conclusion, I have total confidence with the care that is given and cannot praise enough all the staff for their care and commitment to Mum. Home Instead also provide support to my sister, brother in law and myself, give advice, assistance to us and sometimes just listen to us talk, which is a great help to us and instrumental in helping us cope with a very difficult situation.
The approach of Home Instead carers and staff is one of both professionalism and dedication. They have taken great care of my mum ever since she has needed day to day support in her home. They react quickly to all requests she makes, but as importantly they have been proactive in contacting me in situations where they feel she has an urgent requirement or where they feel that something may be amiss. If there is an immediate issue they often deal with the problem and then let me know afterwards that everything is ok. On many occasions they have gone over and above the normal duty of care in providing support and companionship. They are kind and courteous. I feel confident that if I ask them to monitor or react to something they will do there best to assist. I would certainly recommend their services to anyone with an elderly relative that wishes to stay in their own home.
First time dad had any form of care, so I was unsure how it would go. He was pleased with all the Home Instead staff and welcomed their help. Carers were very thoughtful in the way they supported dad. I welcome the way Home Instead will adapt to the individual requirements of the client, a flexible, friendly approach.
Without exception, every member of staff has shown great care and respect for my Father and also showed the same care to my Mother during her final months.
My Father very much enjoys both the support and the company the Ladies provide, I would happily recommend this agency to anyone considering care support.
Since starting using Home Instead Walton On Thames in 2015 we have been extremely pleased with the level of service provided. Staff are very caring, usually prompt and having a full hours visit means they are not rushed and able to chat as well as do the necessary jobs. Any queries or issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently and we have only had two instances where carers have not turned up as booked. On both occasions this was due to computer programmes not allocating the visits not through any fault of the care visitor. Home Instead give us peace of mind and if my 90 year old father is found to be unwell or needs a doctor/ extra care I am immediately alerted. I have no hesitation in recommending to others and indeed already have.

Meet the Team (10)
I have been the owner of Sonder Home Care for almost 10 years. started as the owner and I am so happy I did, as we have served and continue to support many delightful, local residents with amazing histories and stories to tell.
I am delighted that we have been rated Outstanding by CQC, a feat which only 4% of businesses across Britain have achieved. This is because staff relentlessly deliver to such a high standard.
Hello, I’m John, it’s my role to manage the day-to-day activities of the franchise with the collaboration and guidance of the business owner – Damien Nolan. I joined the company in 2020 from a different sector a short time before the start of the pandemic, so it’s been a steep learning curve. I’m fortunate to have become a member of a wonderful team of people who all go the extra mile every day. Home Instead is a fast-paced environment, the days fly by and never pass without me learning something new.
When I’m not in the office I like to spend time with my daughters, go bike riding and walk with my rescue dog, Pablo.
I’ve been part of the team for 8 years, starting out in a caring role and now supporting families as they explore care options for their loved ones.
My role is to meet the prospective clients and their families, to help find the best care solution for them.
I love my job as I work with an amazing team every day, all dedicated to improving the lives of individuals in our local community.
I started my career with Sonder as a carer and I quickly realised this was the job for me!
I have worked in many different parts of the company, and I have enjoyed it all! From starting as a carer to being a team leader and working on the client experience team. My current role is scheduling all of our care calls, to ensure that all the clients receive the care that they require, with their usual carers.
I am especially proud of being a finalist for the ‘Unsung Hero Award’ in the Surrey Care Awards in 2022!
I have worked with Sonder for nearly 6 years. I started as a Carer and loved the job from day 1, I have been promoted throughout the company to my current role as Client Experience Manager in 2022.
My role involves completing the care & risk assessments, as well as building the care plans for clients, to ensure that they are receiving the level of care that they need to remain living independently.
I am lucky enough to work with an amazing team in the office and our wonderful carers and could not be happier.
My name is Emily, I am the Client Experience Manager. I have worked with Sonder since January 2021. I started at 18 years old as a carer, progressing to now being a Client Experience Manager, being supported in every step along my career path
I enjoy working for Sonder as being able to support local residents and knowing we make a difference in their daily lives by supporting them to continue living in their own homes is such a pleasure.
I'm Jez - Business Development Director at Sonder. My job plays a vital role in shaping how Sonder connects with the wider community. I work closely with the marketing and events team driving partnerships that go above and beyond traditional in-home care. I love collaborating with local businesses and charities to make sure our clients experience more than just care and companionship at home.
My role involves training and coaching new starters, as well as supporting and mentoring our current care staff by conducting spot checks and regular supervisions.
I joined during the Covid-19 pandemic as I wanted to do something to help, initially on a part-time basis. I enjoy every minute of working with clients.
I truly enjoy being part of the office team and working alongside such dedicated colleagues.
It is wonderful to end my working day knowing that I have made a real difference in someone’s life.
I have worked with Sonder for nearly 4 years, and I love looking after our clients, now I deal with scheduling.
I love my job role, as dealing with day-to-day issues becomes a lovely challenge to overcome.
I love the environment and the team, as we work together to thrive and fulfil all of our client's needs.
I joined Sonder originally as a carer visiting our wonderful clients in their homes. From the very beginning, I discovered just how much I loved the role—getting to know each client, building relationships, and making a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
I was then given the opportunity to support our office team, where I now help coordinate staff rotas, manage calls, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. I still enjoy going out to visit clients from time to time, which helps me stay connected to the heart of what we do. I also support our on-call service during evenings and weekends to make sure our clients and carers are always supported.
