I started using Kemble in June when individual day care visits ceased to be enough to look after my mother who is living with deteriorating dementia. The Kemble carers have made a huge difference to her life, not just in addressing the specific issues that were facing us in terms of her wandering and putting herself at risk inside the home, but in providing her with regular, tailored home-cooked meals that she loves, keeping her clean and very well presented, organising regular low-cost outings and, above all, providing her with the companionship to reduce the anxiety that her condition generates. The difference in her overall well-being from a year ago, when her condition was actually less advanced, is quite astounding. The carers are flexible in helping me manage my life and work around Mum's needs, are always professional in their approach, but are deeply caring and kind. What they do is truly a vocation and I am in awe of their patience and commitment.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, I will share this with the team.
We have been using Kemble for a couple of years to provide home care and support for my elderly mother who has dementia. We feel very lucky to have found them as the service is excellent. Kemble is very proactive and helps with all sorts of things from shopping, cleaning, hair washes, taking my mother to appointments, cooking etc. The staff are very caring and my mother enjoys the visits.
Thank you for your reveiw, which I have already shared with the team. It's an absolute pleasure to support your mother and work with you and the family to continue supporting her at home.
We have used Kemble at Home for the last eighteen months and found them to be an absolute Godsend dealing with my mother's ongoing dementia and Parkinson's. The carers are fantastic, always friendly and very professional and nothing is too much trouble and they are very prompt. I would recommend Kemble too anybody who needs their services, just wish government would appreciate the vital role the care industry does in peoples' lives and reward accordingly.
Dear David, thank you so much for you review, I will ensure to share it with the team. It is a pleasure to support you and your mother, we are very proud of all our staff.
Our family’s experience with Kemble at Home has been overwhelmingly positive. Our current care team are kind, conscientious, skilled and supportive. The management team work hard to ensure that we almost always have our regular carers and try their best to adapt to extra needs.
Thank you so much for your kind review, I shall pass it on to the team. It's a pleasure to support you all.
I find Kemble very supportive and good company and reflects to each carer I have.
He has a small team of dedicated carers, some of whom have been caring for him since February 2019; they all make a considerable difference to his quality of life.
The service is reliable, and communication between Kemble, my father and our family is excellent.
Dad is treated with courtesy and respect and has never had cause to be dissatisfied with the service provided or any of the individuals involved.
Amongst other duties, Kemble is responsible for the safe administration of Dad's medication, and their professionalism has recently prevented a medication error.
As a retired nurse, I have high expectations and am rather difficult to please. Happily, over the last four years, Kemble at Home has continued to meet these high standards of care.
Dear Lorna, thank you for your review. We are so pleased that you happy with the service we are delivering to your father. I know his team is very fond of him and enjoy supporting him in his own home.
My father was suddenly in need of daily care in his home and my family needed immediate help to provide an appropriate amount of care for him. Kemble at Home were willing and able to jump on board within a few days of my enquiry. The service we received was always friendly and accommodating, flexible to suit rapidly changing needs, and completely transparent. Communication was great at all times, which was much appreciated, and all the staff were professional with my father and my family and communicated with one another. We had a small dedicated team looking after my father so he got used to familiar faces and so did we. The staff were also able to make referrals or guide us through contacting relevant services available to us, for example, occupational therapy and district nurses. I think the cost of the care was good value, and the pricing was very clear. I am very grateful to the team for all their help and support at a very challenging time for our family.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will pass your feedback on to the team. Best wishes. Jason
Superb care and compassion. Kemble at Home really listens and more importantly, hears. So happy we have chosen Kemble at Home for Dad. We feel that he is receiving 'home from home' care and love. Well done to the management for your attention to detail and kindness at such a difficult time for our family and for choosing to employ such superb carers.
Dear Kim, thank you so much for your review, we are pleased you are happy with the service we have been providing to your father. I will ensure it is passed around all the staff who have so far supported him and the family. Best wishes
Kemble at Home were amazing. They couldn’t have done more and been more helpful if they tried. They helped me to work through a maelstrom of information and options and were an incredible source of support and information. Their care staff were all wonderful and the office was so lovely to deal with. I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for help/carers.
Hi Emma, thank you so much for your feedback. We are so pleased that you were happy with the service you received from us. I will pass your feedback on to the team. Best Wishes.
The carers give my husband all the support and care he needs. Nothing is too much trouble for them. He has gained a lot more confidence since they have been helping him and now enjoys their visits.
Trustworthy and willing.
I have been using Kemble at Home care for a few months now as I have a form of Parkinson's that leaves me with very poor mobility. We have a carer for an hour for four mornings a week. They are all excellent – professional, kind and efficient. They help with my shower, making the bed, and other chores around the house. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. In addition, they arrive on time and I always know from the rota who to expect. I would one hundred per cent recommend Kemble to other people. It means that my husband who has to do a lot of care these days can have a well-earned rest.
Dear Liz, thank you so much for your review, and we are over the moon that you are benefiting from the support you receive from us. I shall pass your comments on to the team. Best wishes.
We have engaged Kemble's live-in services for several years now. All the carers have been considerate and caring and have treated our mother, who has Alzheimer's disease, with dignity. The 2 ladies who are currently on rotation are exceptional: we trust their integrity, they are professional in their approach, easy for my sister and me to work with, cheerful and helpful. This enables Mum to remain living in her own home and, for us, her daughters, to spend time with Mum during our frequent visits and to deal with all that's entailed with running a rural, character property!
Dear Wendy, thank you for your review and we are thrilled that the support for your mother is going so well. We will feedback your comments to your mother's current team. Best wishes. Jason
The whole team at Kemble are lovely, from the staff in the office to the carers that come in to cover Mum's 24 hour carer's break. Mum's 24 hour carer is fantastic, she really looks after Mum well, she is a great cook and a really caring carer.
Dear Luke C, thank you very much for your review. I know the team thoroughly enjoys providing support to your mother. Best wishes. Jason
First impressions attention to detail are essential for me when purchasing goods or a service. Kemble at Home impressed me with their 'tell us how we can help and we will do our best to do it' approach. After 12 weeks I have a team of ladies who travel 10 miles from their office along narrow lanes to my house, who have cheerfully learnt my routine. I am deaf so lip-read - Kemble sourced masks with a clear panel in them for the carers to wear which is brilliant. I am kept informed if the carer is going to be late or if it is a different lady to the one on the booking detail which is emailed to me weekly. I have to be supervised walking outside, while the carer and I walk up to my gate we have an interesting conversation on all sorts of topics - never about their other clients or the office staff. The standard of care and support I have is consistent with attention to detail. My daughter was wary at first of letting others care for her mother. Now she is confident Kemble carer's do.
Best wishes,
Jason (Head of Training & Development)
Kemble at Home were an enormous help when I came home after surgery and two weeks in hospital. They provided me with personal care, housework, and guidance and advice with my exercises essential to my recovery. The carers were very professional and attentive to my needs, so I would like to say a big thank you to you all.
The relationship between my mother and her Carer has been very positive and she has made a good recovery during that time. Having a Carer has been an uplifting experience for her - the companionship has been a real bonus and she has benefitted from being in her home surroundings but with all the pressure of running the home lifted from her. We are very pleased and grateful with the outcome.
Dear Hilary, thank you so much for your review. We are very pleased that your mother has benefited from having a Live-In Carer and is now back to being independent again. Please do pass on our best wishes.
The carers who attend my husband for his personal care and general assistance are always cheerful, kind, polite, hard-working and willing to do anything I ask of them, from putting the washing machine on to vacuuming the kitchen. My husband enjoys their visits and company, as indeed do I. They take a considerable burden off me, and consequently my physical and mental health is improved.
Appeared very professional at the first point of contact and my first impressions have been confirmed. A first-class outfit. Excellent staff.
Thank you for your review, I will pass on your feedback to the West Team Manager.
Wonderful staff and service, who are always prepared to take that further step to ensure that clients needs are fulfilled.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased to hear your team go above and beyond and that you are happy with the support we are providing you. Best wishes. Jason

Meet the Team (6)
Meet Martin, another one of our visiting carers - who celebrated his 10th anniversary with the company in August 2021 and joined us after initially retiring. Martin is one of those people who is really easy to talk to; he’s definitely a people person and he loves any opportunity to have a chinwag.
He was originally from Birmingham where he started off as an apprentice electrician. At the age of 21, he began his career with BT. He did a short stint of just some 37 years in total. It’s not very often these days you hear of someone staying in the same role for their entire working career. In 1990 he moved to the Madley BT station in Herefordshire as a sat comms power engineer.
In August 2011 Martin joined the team at Kemble and in that time Martin has been both a carer and trainer, helping new employees at Kemble to find their feet. Some of the staff Martin has trained are still working for the company now.
When asked what would he say to someone in his shoes, looking for something to do part-time in retirement or semi-retirement he said “just give it a try, everyone is different with what they are happy doing. You are well supported at Kemble, the hours are good and I can fit my working hours around my home life and family”. The managers definitely know not to ask Martin for work on a Wednesday evening as Wednesdays are his wife’s night out for a meal!
Outside of work, Martin enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He’s heavily involved in the Hereford Rugby Club. He helped out in the juniors when his son was younger, he then became the 2nd Team Manager before becoming Fixture Secretary for a number of years. He now meets and greets opposition committee members on the 1st team match days both home and away.
Carly is one of our Visiting Care Co-ordinators and has been with us since 2009. There's not much Carly doesn't know about the ins and outs of the company. She works closely with two of our visiting care teams to ensure the smooth running of the rotas and that clients receive support from a familiar face.
Marisa started off as a visiting carer with Kemble ten years ago, and after two years, ended up becoming an on-call manager, where she was a point of contact for the out-of-hours. She then became a trainer and trained all the new carers in induction. Marisa then helped in the office. After a short while, she became a Live-in Care manager. For the last 2 years, she has been the Visiting Care manager for our South and West Teams and is close to completing her NVQ Level 5 in Adult Social Care.
Jason has been with Kemble for over 13 years and wears multiple hats. As well as being a Registered Manager, Jason is also our Head of Training & Development and runs our visiting care East and Ledbury teams alongside Carly.
Jason is - in some way - the most musically talented of our office staff. He initiated our Music Memories programme, which encourages people to explore the health benefits of music. He also plays the organ for local churches and leads a handbell ringing ensemble.
Dominic took over the day-to-day running of the business from Peter in 2021. Prior to joining Kemble, Dominic had a varied career as a civil servant, which included supporting the successful sale of British Steel in 2020 and running the Secretary of State for Business’s office during the Covid pandemic, leading on the business support schemes, workplace guidance and the purchasing of vaccines.
Dominic has recently moved to Ledbury with his wife and soon-to-be first child (due in June). He is a keen tennis player, an open water swimmer, and enjoys mowing his lawn!
Sharon and Michael King established Kemble Care in 1993. They retired from day-to-day management in 2009 but continue to be involved with strategic issues that concern the business.
Peter King, their eldest son, has been Managing Director since July 2009. Previously an Army Officer with the Royal Engineers, he set up and ran his own business before coming to Kemble Care. He was a director of the UKHCA — our national home care association — where he represented smaller providers of care.
