Before using Nightingales, we used an agency suggested by the local council authority. We were not happy with them, the staff were young and not very experienced. Timekeeping was not good.
The staff at Nightingales were more mature and experienced. They use their own cars and timekeeping was good. We generally had the same person and staff seemed to stay at Nightingales. A weekly schedule is produced giving times and staff attending. They were significantly more expensive than the previous agency but we thought that it was well worth it.
We stopped using the agency because my wife passed away.
My mother received help once a week over the past 3 years, mainly for shopping and household chores. The same carer always came as requested and when away, a replacement always came - we were never let down. The regular carer was honest, efficient and very caring. My mother was always treated with respect and kindness. We really couldn't fault the service given.
Mostly the care is excellent. Friendly, reliable carers. Where there have been minor lapses in the standard these have been attended to promptly.
The carers provided are always good at their job, helpful and above all, cheerful. A happy face makes a good deal of difference during the day.
Nightingales were very kind to my dad right up to the end and 2 carers even took the trouble to come to his funeral and were kind enough to say how they liked looking after my dad. It showed a level of care and kindness you can only hope for - until you know it has happened. The firm was also good at providing ad hoc important feedback when something unusual happened, either to my dad, his flat or if something needed buying. Overall, a very good experience. Thank you.
Nightingales over nearly 3 years enabled my mother in law to fulfil her wish to stay in her own home. As her frailty increased, Nightingales were able to match the care to her needs. The management and dedicated carers were absolutely wonderful. They combined professionalism with warmth. The client's best interests and dignity were at all times at the centre of the care given. The last 6 months required 24-hour care and Nightingales never faltered throughout that time. They provided a live-in carer who was superbly supported by the previous team of carers who had looked after for my mother in law. All worked together extremely well and that continuity of known carers was vital for the client and the family. We feel very fortunate to have had Nightingales as our locally based carers. I would highly recommend them.
Very pleased with Nightingales service. As my Mother was bed bound, we needed an extra degree of care which the staff were sympathetic towards. Would recommend to others in our situation. Thanks for all your hard work.
Nightingales were also very flexible in their approach. When we asked for additional time/cover, even at short notice over a weekend, they came up trumps. We speak to highly of the team that helped us. Thank you so much, you were great.
For the last 5 week of my father's life, Nightingales provided him with 24 hour care. It was an incredibly difficult time for us and the Nightingales manager and the lady who looked after my father were absolutely brilliant. For those few weeks, my father's carer became on of the family and everyone who interacted with her commended on how lovely she was. We simply would not have managed without her. Thank you Nightingales.
