For over 20 years, Vestra Homecare has been supporting adults across the North East to live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes. The organisation understands that many people prefer to remain in familiar surroundings rather than move into residential care. If I could rate this shambles of a care company zero, I would! Communication from the office is terrible. The attitude of some of the office staff is disgusting. Two of the staff removed a walking aid of my grandmother and the result of this made her tumble over her commode. The managers were trying to cover this up until my nephew had this on camera. He then sent it in and they couldn't pull the wool over my nephews eyes. The director of this company has served notice on my elderly grandmother all because my nephew knew what he is talking about and they can't get away with what they have done. This was before the registered manager almost overdosed my grandmother and as a family caught this. Again, they tried to cover this up. Stay well clear of this company. I wouldn't give them a gold fish to look after.
My elderly parents were very reluctant to accept help. But as mam developed dementia my dad needed assistance with helping her to get in and out of the shower/bath. The carers are so patient, compassionate and caring, any reservations they had were dismissed within seconds, by the lovely carer we were sent. We only had the carers for a few months as my mother unfortunately died, but the assistance, patience and caring nature that was given with dignity was second to none, I would not hesitate to use this company again. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we will be sure to pass these on to our care workers. Best wishes
Myself and my brothers would like to thank the carers who came and cared for my dad, they were spot on and could not fault them til the very end, they only worked with him for 2 weeks but those 2 weeks we could not fault them. We had good communication from themselves and the office. Thanks for all the work you did for my dad and the support you gave me and my brothers.
Absolutely a joke, there is no communication between the office and clients, asked for rota of the staff who will be coming out and still waiting, can’t deal with basic needs or duty of care properly, they give you or ask you for a specific time that will be suitable then don’t stick to it or change the rota without informing the client. I have worked in care myself for over 10 years at senior level and I’m appalled by the lack of commitment or communication by the management and letting the carers take the client's complaints as they can’t do their job properly. They do have some brilliant carers that work for them but unfortunately being let down by the company, I would not recommend this company to anyone else.
I always look forward to my calls and can't find fault with the staff.
Thanks Vestra.
Myself and the family, would like to thank the four carers, for the care they gave to my husband and how gentle they were to a very poorly gentleman. We cannot speak highly enough of them. Thank you, girls, Vestra, should be very proud to have you on their team.
Since City Care took over my dad's care I have breathed a sigh of relief. I can go to work safe in the knowledge a professional and CARING team of carers will look after him. He looks clean, tidy and comfortable and best of all he is relaxed because he is receiving his medication at the correct times. Thank you.
On several occasions the carers have gone far beyond what I would have expected of them, collecting prescriptions when medication has not been delivered correctly and taking samples to the doctor's surgery, this has been invaluable to me as I live a distance from my mother and I am extremely grateful for all of their help.
My mother has carers 4 times daily and I would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative.
City Care has provided care for my mother since January 2017. They have visited twice a day. They have helped mum get dressed washed and ready for the day. They have coaxed her into eating her breakfast, given her medication and chatted to her to set her up for the day. They left sandwiches prepared for lunch and returned to give her the evening meal and final tablets. This was all in the contract but their care and consideration went way beyond this. We especially thank her key worker who especially went the extra mile to keep her safe and happy when unexpected problems arose. We wholeheartedly recommend their service for which my family is very grateful. Without their help, we could not have coped in recent months.
