Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Unfortunately, my mother`s excellent care from The Caring Company was only for approximately seven months, as after having several falls and a deterioration in her mental capacity, she is currently waiting for a permanent place in a nursing home.

During the time the Caring Company looked after

my mother, she received excellent care, delivered in a very caring and friendly manner and when asked to do anything extra, this was cheerfully carried out. The management and clerical team were extremely helpful, kept me up to speed with my mothers well being, and was always on hand if I needed any advice. I would absolutely recommend this agency.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 34 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.921 for The Caring Company is calculated as follows: ( (187 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 203 Ratings = 4.921
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for The Caring Company is based on 34 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Having worked for around 20 years in various residential settings. Was then introduced to homecare with The Leonard Cheshire group, working with people with physical disabilities in Oxford City and the surrounding area, till changes in the care sector resulted in our team being transferred to another provider.

Approaching retirement age, I planned to set up a small business to support myself and a friend for a few years. 18 years later, the company has supported many lovely people and is still lucky to have some of the original wonderful staff.
