We are very satisfied with the service delivered and care and attention that is paid to Mum's needs. Nothing seems to be too much trouble in any situation we may find ourselves in and they are a great support to my Dad, as he is Mum's main carer. Whichever carer visits pay the same care and attention each time, in my opinion.

I requested and paid for half-hour visits daily from 08.00 - 08.30 to assist in showering. The actual calls have been as early as 07.00 and as late as 11.20. Complaints to the company have been ignored, explanations have been staff shortages due to holidays and sickness. (They have more holidays than the cook.)

Reply from Daniel Rhodes, at Caremark Hull, East Riding, York, Selby & North Lincolnshire
Hi Peter
I am sorry to hear your concerns. We do all possible to ensure calls are allocated as agreed and calls are covered. Staff do take holidays, however the service continues and alternative staff are provided. I will look at the issues raised and be back in touch with you.

Thanks Care Manager

Caremark is a private care provider. They always seem overworked - particularly the management and they don't seem to understand that their carers have to travel considerable distances between clients and that they can't simply teleport from one to the next.

The carers are all very pleasant and accommodating. I think of them as friends, although they are not. Their visits are the highlight of my week.

My mother (91) had vascular dementia, COPD, heart disease, no mobility and was also blind.
This situation was a challenge for any carer but we had two teams of two, visited four times a day (in the end) who were all ladies in their late teens/early twenties but showed huge maturity, spoke kindly and caringly with ease, explaining all they did for her.
They treated her gently and with much care, using hoist and shower, etc.
They also ensured Dad was totally in the picture. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It is very difficult because some of the girls are really good, some just satisfactory. Some are very caring, some not. The biggest problem is the timings. They rarely arrive on time but that could be the fault of the office. They haven't adhered to the agreed times with the social worker either, although the 10.30pm call is too late The odd carer leaves before the time too.

Generally satisfied with the service. One carer is very good and one not so good. I appreciate that illness and holidays affect the weekly rota but I feel that I should be contacted if an appointment was going to be very late, rather than me worrying if I had been overlooked. This has happened on one or two occasions.

They were supportive to my dad, mindful of maintaining his independence but ensuring his well being. At times my dad was difficult in mood but luckily this didn't faze them.

My wife has 3, half-hour visits per week to help her with personal care. All the staff that have attended over the years have been very helpful and kind. However, their (Caremark) admin is hopeless. We are poorly and inaccurately informed on many occasions.

I have been using Caremark (East Riding) for a considerable number of years and always found them thoroughly reliable and efficient. They treat me with compassion and respect ensuring that I take all my medication regularly. I received a complete body wash daily followed by a fresh set of clean clothes.

My carers have become friends who visit me twice daily and are always interested in my progress.

My partner was very ill with cancer when the staff started coming to him. They were so lovely and kind to him and nothing was too much trouble. The staff chatted to him and also treated him to as much dignity as possible. They always had a chat with me as well. I would recommend your company and care team to everybody. So thanks to you all.
