Belong at Home Macclesfield

We are so grateful that we have support from Belong at Home to care for my mum in her own home. Most days, Mum is able to do quite a lot for herself, but her condition is unpredictable and can lead to her forgetting to take her pills, to get up in the morning, or to get ready for appointments. Knowing that Belong are visiting Mum twice a day and will let us know of any issues or concerns is very comforting. Their regular visits have helped us to monitor Mum's condition and make some adjustments so it is better managed. We have a very good relationship with all of the team and know we will get a quick response to any questions we have, or problems that we need their help to resolve.

For the short period of time that the team supported my mum, she was very happy - there was a nice relationship developing, and there was consistency with the carers who came to support Mum and from her daycare service. The contact that I had was always professional and polite as well as caring and supportive.

Karen and her staff have been proactive and supportive as Mum's needs have increased. Without their support, Mum would no longer be able to live in her home which is where she wants to be. She needs consistency and patience which they have shown in abundance. I need good communication from them, as Mum's dementia means she can't remember to tell me anything, they have always contacted me quickly and with both ideas and solutions to any issues. Can't recommend them enough.

Belong at Home have provided an excellent care package for our father over the last three years, which has enabled him to live independently. Their visits have not only involved day-to-day physical care, but also emotional support that has shown empathy, patience and an awareness of our father's needs. Their communication with the immediate family has been outstanding. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our father.

All the carers were good, kind and helpful. They always tried to solve any problem we were having; in fact, we could not have had better care.

Belong at Home Macclesfield gave valuable assistance to my parents for many years and when my mother died two years ago, they immediately increased their care to look after my father who suffers from dementia. The care given is of the highest standard. The staff are professional and above all very caring. It is a testament to their high standards that they continued to provide excellent service during the pandemic.

I was very undecided in the present situation, about asking for help with my husband who has dementia and mobility problems. However, I feel reassured and 'safe' by the PPE used, and it is good for my husband to see, to laugh and share a joke with someone other than just myself.

May I also just mention their diligence to health and safety, for staff and clients. Wearing masks, visors, aprons, gloves and following strict protocols has really paid off. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Belong stepped in quickly and efficiently when my father came out of hospital. We had named carers so we knew who to expect and this helped to provide continuity of care as well as a familiar face under the mask. The carer went beyond the call of duty to provide a surprise meal for Dad. I felt reassured that everything was in hand with other jobs done in the house ie bins out, washing done etc. It was the quiet efficiency that impressed me the most plus excellent service. They also have a flexible time provision. I can thoroughly recommend them, plus it eases the transfer to a Belong care home if needed.

Mum has said how much she has enjoyed getting to know everyone and especially the carers she has seen most regularly as she feels they have become like friends. For my part I have really appreciated their adaptability and ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude plus also feel that the 6-monthly review offers a very useful opportunity to make any adjustments. I would definitely recommend them for their professionalism, friendliness and level of care.

The personal care given by your visiting staff is second to none, and she looks forward to every home visit.

Care from the team was outstanding. Carers were trained to a high standard and carried out their duties and personal care to the same high standard. They were kind, compassionate, caring, communicative, supportive and would go the ‘extra mile’ in ensuring Mum was comfortable and content. Any problems were dealt with not only as they arose, but also anticipated and built into changes in Mum’s care plan. Mum, and we as family, were involved and engaged in reviews of her care. Mum looked forward to visits from her carers, feeling comfortable with them to the point where she felt able to share her particular wit and sense of humour, which was appreciated by all.

I found Belong at Home to be a professional, caring service provider. They understood the support my father needed and identified issues I had not thought about, this not only helped my father but me as well. They provided caring and understanding support and left clear comments on the service provided at each visit, this reduced my worry and related stress. I also found that communication between us was excellent ensuring the best service and outcome for my father and myself. I would have no hesitation in recommending their service.

Belong at Home has provided twice daily care for my mother who has dementia and poor mobility, for the last 10 months. She also attends Belong for lunch and a bath once a week and is collected and returned home. The care provided is excellent. My mother is very happy with the service provided at home and the caring supportive nature of her carers. It has enabled her to stay comfortably, happily and safely at home. She also really enjoys her weekly outing to the centre. The carers liaise well with the family and I am kept very well informed. There is very good continuity of care. I cannot recommend them too highly.

Belong at Home Macclesfield have provided care for my mother in law for several months now, and as a family, we have been very pleased with this organisation. Care has been consistently excellent, and any concerns (which have been few, and only minor) have been addressed promptly and efficiently. My mother in law is forgetful, so it is particularly helpful that the same carer visits her whenever possible, and the number of different carers has been minimal. We find the carers empathetic and patient. The office works well and usually responds quickly to any queries and requests.

Mum's carers are a life saver. They have given me back my mother-daughter relationship and taken so much worry off my shoulders and peace of mind that mum is well cared for. They always make sure she is well groomed and well turned out taking so much care with her clothes. They go above and beyond in carrying out their duties, talking to mum all the time, laughing and involving her in all the day to day decisions. Can't thank them enough.

I would like to share my experiences with the wonderful services provided by Belong in Macclesfield.

My mum has some mobility challenges, which she finds frustrating, but loves to go out and about when she can. I work full time and can't devote the time I would like to and wanted to find a caring, reliable and trustworthy company who could provide additional support.

The team were wonderful and advised me on all the service they could provide. They offer a full range of activities and support, which are tailored to each individual’s requirement. In Mum's case, she has carers who take her shopping or on outings on a weekly basis but may do more in the future.

Mum has more confidence and independence; the carers are so friendly and supportive. I love to hear Mum tell me where they have been and how much she enjoys their company.

For me, it has provided safe, friendly and trustworthy support for us both. I feel that I am helping Mum to live a fuller life with this additional support.

It was difficult to persuade my dad to have any help in the house after his wife died. Dad was 90 years old but very independent and didn't want strangers in his house. The agency tried to find him a suitable carer when he finally agreed to a little help. They found someone who Dad got on really well with. She was great at organising his shopping, making his lunches and even ironing his sheets! She was good at everything and Dad thought the world of her. He really looked forward to her visit. Without this help, dad would not have been able to stay in his own home. Many thanks.
