Getting carers in from Home Instead was one of the best decisions I have ever made. They transformed how we coped with my mother’s slowly deteriorating health and recently when it was clear that she didn’t have long to live (and our exhaustion was a worry) they stepped up to the plate with a package that covered both her needs and ours. Precautions were taken against Coronavirus but in a way that was well thought out and in line with official guidance. My mother really looked forward to the carers arriving, listening to their news and chatting with them after all their jobs were finished. It brightened up her days and she felt a strong attachment to them that was undoubtedly reciprocated.
Mum and I have been so pleased with the service received from Home Instead carers. The individuals allocated to support Mum at home have been wonderful in looking after Mum's needs, both practical and conversationally. Mum has become extremely frail and is feisty about her various limitations, and looks forward to the allocated hours per week when each visit breaks the day and gives confidence that a person will be visiting breaking a degree of monotony. Home Instead are so good at discussing any short term additional requirements and stress their availability to be contacted ensuring the care needs are covered. All the members of the company are approachable and relaxed when you meet face to face. The support and care given have provided both Mum and I with confidence that we are not alone in tackling those unknowns which ageing introduces - most of all, Home Instead are helping us maintain Mum's independence in her own home. We cannot praise all of them enough!
Home Instead tried hard to link my wife with a compatible companion, over time my wife became aggressive towards visitors, including companions.
Home Instead management did all possible to find a solution and showed great concern about my welfare, they recommended I discussed the situation with our GP and offered to be present if it would help.
Following discussion with GP, he involved both the Mental Health and Social Worker teams which proved to be the right course of action and helped significantly as my wife's Dementia advanced. Without the prompting by Home Instead, I would no doubt have struggled on alone with a significant effect on my health.
Eventually, my wife went into hospital and was transferred to a Nursing Home where she passed away.
Throughout Home Instead offered excellent support and advice.
I cannot speak highly enough of all the lovely staff who cared for my dear dad. They demonstrated care and compassion on a daily basis. The always remained cheerful and never lost their patience, even when faced with the challenges of caring for a client with vascular dementia. They also, provided excellent support for my mum, most importantly to me; they enabled dad to remain at home, right up to his death. Thank you.
I have found Home Instead a very professional company offering a standard of care that suits the needs of my wife who has Parkinsons disease. The carers' are well trained, respectful and punctual which is very important. To summarize, my wife and I are very happy with the standard of care Home Instead offer.
I would highly recommend for anyone looking for care at home for a loved one. My mum had dementia and the love and support she received brightened her life every day.
The staff are flexible, attentive, sensitive and professional. Nothing is too much trouble for Mums well-being. They make positive suggestions to help improve Mums situation. They provide much more than a home care service.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this exceptional group to anyone needing care with a relative.
We are very happy with the level of care provided to mum by Home Instead. The professionalism of the staff is outstanding and they always seem to go the extra mile to help.
The same team of carers come to my husband - in twos to address his needs - so comfortable and trusting relationships are formed. Carers are also supportive of me, which I am grateful for. Visits and care plans are monitored regularly and any problems dealt with immediately.
I also, have 'companionship' calls leaving a carer looking after my husband and I am totally confident about going out and leaving him.
I could not recommend Home Instead - the management and care staff- more highly for the care and support they give to both me and my husband.
This is a company that is seriously concerned for the welfare of its clients (and their relatives). They have proven extremely helpful and knowledgeable -most notably during the early days when chaos appears to reign. They are highly responsive to requests and highly professional, caring and flexible in the delivery of their services.
My father has a number of health problems and extremely limited mobility. Consequently, he requires multiple visits each day to provide him with the support he needs.
Home Instead staff help my father with personal care, preparation of meals, shopping, hospital visits, household cleaning, laundry, access to social engagements and a host of other things too numerous to mention.
All members of staff are caring, competent, friendly, respectful and helpful. My father is full of praise for them. He tells me that he thinks of the care and management staff as friends. He enjoys their visits a great deal.
I live overseas and often rely on Home Instead to help me solve problems on my father's behalf. Invariably, both management and care-staff are ready and willing to go the extra mile and can be relied upon to deal with emergencies big and small.
I can recommend them wholeheartedly and without reserve.
The management team went above and beyond to up her care package at very little notice ensuring she still saw her regular caregivers.
The excellent communication from the management team and the care and compassion offered from them and the caregivers offered so much reassurance for us as a family. A truly professional set up, I would recommend these caregivers to anyone.
My mum and I engaged Home Instead in Frodsham from November 2018 (up to February 2019) to administer personal care to my father in the late stages of Alzheimer's. As for anybody, it was a huge decision and we had a level of reservation that I would imagine is normal for anybody in the same circumstance. From the outset, Home Instead demonstrated an outstanding level of professionalism, preparation and compassion beyond anything we could have wished for. The reliability of their service offer was impeccable, the quality of their staff outstanding and their availability to us throughout the period was faultless. My father has since transitioned into a nursing care home and the team at Home Instead even advised and supported my family through that traumatic process. For us, the whole team at Home Instead were incredibly responsive, genuinely caring and immediately they felt like an extension of our own family. In tough times, everybody needs good people and these guys were incredible.
Having Home Instead coming in to see dad is so helpful for me and my family - I still visit dad most days but it's great to have this extra support.
Would recommend Home Instead wholeheartedly.
My mother needed initial home help after a broken hip and after a recommendation from a family friend my mother chose Home Instead.
Initially, they carried out general duties whilst Mum got better. Sadly her health took a turn for the worse and after some months in hospital she was ready to come home subject to a care package.
Home Instead guided me through the NHS bureaucracy to get Mum home. They were fantastic and professional throughout
Now home, they have increased the care package and so mum lives an independent life at home because of Home Instead. They help with GP appointments and general care/help. They do this in a very unintrusive way so Mum still has her independence which is paramount.
I can highly recommend Home Instead every time.
Home Instead made the process easy and I cannot thank them enough.
I am so pleased and more importantly so is my mum with what the care staff do. We both thought it would be a difficult process but they are so caring, helpful and respectful that they have made the process easy for us both.
Thanks again to you all.
Support is only a phone call away and an understanding ear can be essential when caring for a loved one now in final stage Dementia. Home Instead assist my mum to shower, something I found extremely difficult, they have helped take this task from me keeping my mum clean and comfortable. She is the happiest, most comfortable and best cared for we feel she could possibly be.
I recommend Home Instead for trustworthy, reliable and quality carers. I have met some caring, genuine staff in our difficult journey who continue to keep Mum safe, clean, comfortable and most of all happy.
The caregivers' kind and thoughtful attention to my father's needs, wishes and circumstances made it possible for him to continue to live at home despite the advances of his vascular dementia. Their care meant a great deal to my father, whose face lit up whenever one of the caregivers arrived. It was an increasingly demanding and time-consuming task to look after my father, but the patience and professionalism of the caregivers never wavered. This provision was a life-line for my father and for me. Without this bespoke provision, I would not have been able to continue my own lifestyle as I did. Home Instead offered independence and friendship - valued and appreciated by my father and by me.
Home Instead have been providing care for my husband and my parents for several months and I have been very happy with the service they offer. When my father was unexpectedly admitted to hospital, their help was invaluable. My husband's caregiver informed the office so everyone was aware and ready to help. Mum's caregiver sat with her and helped keep her calm, then contacted the office to ask about extra care for my husband so I could take Mum to hospital. This was organised within half an hour, leaving me free to look after my mum and dad. I really appreciate the help they give us on a daily basis, they are always reliable, friendly and professional.
Very pleased with the continued service from Home Instead. It gives me reassurance that my parents are being well looked after, have the correct medication each day by caring professionals.

Meet the Team (5)
Alison and Brian enjoyed the opportunity to work and live in The Netherlands and Chicago before returning to Cheshire in 1999.
Brian and Alison have three teenage children; Will, Jack and Olivia. They understand how difficult it can be for family members to balance their working lives with also trying to provide support to their family, young or old.
Jen brings 10 years of care experience to her role in Home Instead. She has worked in community-based care, care homes and in a hospital mental health unit. Whilst gaining this experience, Jen invested her time in and completed her NVQ 2 & NVQ3 in health and social care as well as an NCFE qualification in mental health.
Jen joined Home Instead in 2018, she wanted to stay in the sector and was looking to work with a team with a passion for delivering high standards of care. She started as a CAREGiver learning about our values and standards. Jens passion and ability were recognised with promotion to a Senior CAREGiver in 2018 and further promotion to a full-time CARE Coordinator role in 2019. In this role, she supports our Registered Manager Laura with Client reviews and CAREGiver support and coaching.
Jen recently regularly works with our local Occupational Therapists to support our mutual Clients and recently completed an advanced moving and handling’ train the trainer’ course. She uses her experience, skills and training to support and coach our Caregiver’s to provide care that is truly person-centred and relationship led.
Hayley relocated from Oxfordshire to Cheshire with her partner. She began working within the care sector in 2015, predominantly in domiciliary care. Her interest in care was sparked after caring for her Nan during her final few months of her illness. Following her first role as a Care Assistant and a stint on an Oncology unit in a hospital, she progressed into a Senior Care role, writing care plans and coaching new staff. After nearly seven years of working in Care in Oxfordshire and completing her NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care together with her NVQ Level 3 in End-of-Life Care, she joined Home Instead as a Care Coordinator in January 2022, attracted by Home Instead’s ethos of individualised and person-centred care. She is looking forward to working alongside the Care team and bringing her experience and passion to the role.
Upon completion of her undergraduate career, Rebecca embarked upon a role with BT in the Sales and Retention Department and was soon promoted to the Planning Department. In this role Rebecca was responsible for streamlining and managing processes related to annual leave, in accordance with BT policy and international industry quality standards. This required Rebecca to demonstrate good coaching skills and positively manage a variety of stakeholders whilst keeping focus on the task in hand.
In 2018, Rebecca was seeking a role that she felt would “make a difference to people’s lives” and allow her to apply her analytical/problem-solving skill set. Consequently, Rebecca joined our team as the Scheduler. In this role Rebecca is responsible for coordinating the scheduling of individualised service for all our clients and CAREGivers, whilst also optimising our ability to provide relationship led care.
From 2007, she worked as the Executive PA in a busy primary school overseas and her role included all aspects of HR, recruitment and administration work.
Having gained her Diploma in Health and Social Care in 2005, Jane was keen to incorporate her admin experience into a role within a care setting. Due to her own father’s onset of dementia in the past few years, she came to understand the importance of the availability of honest, kind and sympathetic caregivers to support the family, together with the provision of support for the CAREGivers themselves, helping them to manage their important but often challenging roles. She came across the role of Caregiver Administrator at Home Instead whist researching care for her father; it was the perfect fit and so she joined the team in 2017.
