Saxon Care (Chippenham) Reviews (59)
Over all time Saxon Care (Chippenham) has 59 reviews.
I think the care is exceptional.
A telephone call to request the service of one of the agent's staff has always been treated with courtesy and consideration as well as in some cases immediately - or short notice help. The help given by the staff was very helpful and friendly, not merely courteous. Despite working to a restricted timetable, the task and help given was never rushed or the client made to feel they were on a restricted/time controlled plan.
Our main carer is super, very kind, thoughtful and efficient; ready to do all we ask, always with a smile. She keeps us cheerful in difficult circumstances. The assistant carers are all perfectly adequate, but she is the one who makes the care entirely reasonable. We never imagined to find carers could be this good.
I have received very good care from Saxon Care with regard to assisting my washing, dressing and getting up in the morning.
During the period of her final illness and death, they were outstanding, respectful and genuinely upset. Going the extra mile on many occasions.
Also made appropriate safeguarding.
Only criticism, poor communication from the office if the carers were delayed or not able to attend.
The care from Saxon Care is well carried out. Dad is helped to wash and dress early every morning - bath one morning a week. Any problems are sorted by a phone call to the office. Carers are on time, courteous, professional and caring. Any concerns about his health are noted in his care folder. Dad is prone to chest infections and I am always phoned by the carer if they feel he is unwell in this way, so I can sort antibiotics etc.
They assist with washing, preparing an evening meal, the laundry and ironing.
I have been caring for my wife for over 10years. What I can't do is bring the joy, happiness and laughter the carers bring to our home. We look forward to their visits, they are well disciplined, smart, caring and professional. One problem they have is arriving together, often caused because of traffic conditions.
But this did not affect me as they phoned to say they were behind schedule so I was not waiting and wondering. They are caring and respect my views and requests. Everything is left clean and tidy on leaving. They are gentle and kind to me.
Care has been excellent for my husband who has Motor Neurone Disease.
Very happy with the care. Carers very professional.
Very caring and efficient.
I look forward to seeing them each day and count them as friends.
They carry out their tasks efficiently and always ask what more they can do for me.
My mother's dementia is slowly getting worse and I find that Saxon Care staff generally address growing needs before I have a chance to mention them. Mum enjoys their daily visits and they are a great help in supporting her independence. Saxon Care team are experienced and dedicated. I would recommend them to anyone with similar needs without hesitation.
Timing on all calls can be a problem. I have an early call 7.30 am. Carers are always very cheerful, handle me very carefully, all my personal needs are done very respectfully, bathroom left how I like it to be, also the bedroom, so all needs met here, I am ready for the day. I have a lunch call, then later an evening call. At times lunch calls can be difficult, this is due to staffing i.e. younger members, or foreign, as I am a lady who does not want, a frozen meal out of the freezer then straight to microwave, so I will have something that needs to be prepared and served. This on a few occasions has caused my eyebrows to be raised, questioning what is this on my plate, take it away, start again, this time ask me. I will help you. This raises questions, one wonders about kitchen cleanliness. Have they (certain carers) ever been taught I ask myself! there are problems here. Night time calls, staff varying here. I am a lady who does not like to be rushed. You should not feel carer is here just to get you into bed, say goodnight and be gone. This does happen at times. But here, company named is caring, does recognise to go that little way further, cares for the welfare of client and staff comes first. This continues to make a well run company and long may this continue.
My husband has Alzheimers. Early in his disease it became apparent that he could no longer be left alone. I tried a number of agencies but was frequently let down, once quite badly. On a recommendation I tried Saxon Care and never looked back. Their unique check in system (it was at the time) made me rest easy that the carer would be here at the appointed time or someone would be chasing. Not to mention the fact that every single carer was wonderful!
Overall the staff and management are very friendly and helpful. Staff are brilliant, just a shame they have to be so rushed as travel timed does not seem realistic for them to get from client to client. I would have no hesitation in recommending Saxon Care.
Our Dad, always used to looking after himself, was finding it increasingly difficult to cope at home. The carers from Saxoncare were wonderful; he wasn't always an easy person to look after but they stuck with it. It is the little acts of kindness that make such a big difference; it was obvious that for some of the young carers in particular this was more than just a job - they really cared about the person they were looking after and it was very touching for us to see how fond they became of our Dad. The management was extremely supportive and understanding; we really couldn't have asked for more from them. We were all very grateful for the help we received and I would definitely recommend Saxoncare to others.
A big thank you to all the team at Saxon for your professional approach to Dad.
