We started using Bluebird after my mum had a stroke in 2019. We’d had problems with the first care company we used in Colchester but never looked back after being recommended Bluebird.
My mum was so well looked after by all her carers from Bluebird. They were all so well trained, kind, caring and would go the extra mile to make sure my mum was happy and comfortable.
What is great about Bluebird is they try to give you the same carers each week where possible. This meant my mum built lovely friendships with the carers she had regularly.
I moved in with my parents through lockdown and I would even hear my mum laughing and joking with her carer each morning. It was lovely and something I don’t think you get everywhere.
The office staff are also very professional. If ever there was an issue to discuss, I felt listened to and it was always resolved and dealt with promptly.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It makes all the difference when we hear what a good job we are doing. We shall make sure your kind words are passed on to the girls.
Absolutely great company go above and beyond to help in any way they can, staff are amazing great communication, office staff are amazing and do what they can to help in any situation, always there to give support when needed.
Thank you for your positive feedback. It is very much appreciated.
I commissioned Bluebird Care for my six-year-old son. I was extremely nervous - but it was the best decision! My son's carer is kind, caring, trustworthy and she’s really helping my son achieve things. All the family love her and she treats my boy with such excellent care. Also credit to another carer who helped me find the right carer for my son and supports me in all aspects of my son's care, health and lifestyle - she is helpful, caring and very supportive to me. Bluebird have made this process very pleasant. Many thanks.
Thank you so much much for your kind words. We are delighted that the support for your son is going really well.
My Dad was not too happy about having any care, thinking friends and family would be able to care for him. With some gentle persuasion, he reluctantly agreed! We are so glad he did. The care and love the staff provided were truly amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and over the few weeks they cared for Dad he loved seeing them every day. They were so professional, with the utmost respect for us all. I must also mention something very important to me, the staff members sense of humour. At these stressful and sometimes emotional times, it was very good to be able to have a light-hearted chat and a giggle. My Dad loved a laugh and the staff really catered for his sense of humour! Keep on doing what you are doing Bluebird. You are all fantastic.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and for your kind words. I am so glad your father was able to have a joke and laugh with the guys. I shall make sure your kind words are passed on to them.
Whatever the demand or moan, the Bluebird team always responded compassionately, effectively and with good humour while providing support for both social inclusion and personal care. The ever-changing needs of my late relative were caused by a complex, variable disability, each carer was adaptable, flexible in response, tolerant and willing to provide support in the best possible way. My relative's unpredictable health and mood required constant modification of care and intervention. Well trained, well selected, well-led, well supported and responded above and beyond expectations and they are to be congratulated.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and for your kind words.
All the carers were amazing and had a cheerful friendly attitude towards my Dad and also my Mum, despite there being many challenges with my Dad’s health. The office staff and on-call staff were always very friendly, helpful and patient too. I would want them to continue my Dad’s care but this was not possible as social care dictate who cares for him. I would recommend Bluebird without hesitation and would call on them if we needed additional care.
Many thanks to Bluebird Tendring
Thank you for your very kind words and we are delighted you were so pleased with the care we provided. The girls were all very sad to say goodbye.
I am happy with the care I receive. I have a good rapport with the staff provided. The staff go above and beyond the requirements. They assist me to keep in touch with friends and family.
Thank you for completing the review. I am very pleased to hear they go above and beyond to support you.
Keeping same carers, we old ones like, don't confuse dot-com. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to complete your review.
Bluebird has been providing excellent daycare visits which have enabled my Mother to continue with independent living. The professional Management team have provided continuity of carers despite the difficulties of the last year. The staff are always kind, approachable and cheerful understanding my Mother's needs.
Thank you for your kind words about our staff. It's lovely to receive such nice feedback and I will pass on your kind words to the girls.
I am very happy with all the care that I have received and continue to.
Thank you for taking the time to send in this review and we are glad you are happy with our service.
We are very happy with the care provided. Carers have been courteous, respectful and sympathetic to my wife's needs. The carers are very professional but are never intrusive and we feel completely at ease. My wife feels safe and is very appreciative of the personal care given to her. The cares approach to her dementia is very caring and gentle. We are also very happy with the practical help around the house.
Thank you for the very kind review. I will make sure your comments are passed on to the girls.
Both carers have been, kind, hard-working and delivered excellent care from personal needs to general housework and anything in between. Nothing has been too much trouble, and although being professional have managed to also build up a close friendship with the client, much of this being down to the fact that the management team went above and beyond the remit to provide “the right fit” for my friend's lifestyle.
I shall make sure your kind comments are passed on to the ladies.
All the Bluebird Care staff we have met in the past two weeks have been, without exception, very professional, considerate and friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend Bluebird Care to anyone looking to provide care for a loved one.
Thank you for your kind words. I am delighted you are happy with the care we are providing.
All the carers have been polite, helpful and very considerate of my needs. They have been flexible and helped me with whatever has been needed. All arrive smiling and talk to me and make me smile and laugh.
Thank you for your very kind feedback. I am delighted they arrive smiling and make you laugh. What a lovely way to start the day !!
We are pleased with the service that Bluebird provides to my mother. They are very helpful and friendly and are genuinely concerned for her welfare.
Thank you for your kind words about the care we are providing to your mother.
All the carers were so kind, respectful and helpful. My dad really responded to them. They also were very kind to me and my friend; who was assisting with Dad's care. They went above and beyond in trying to make Dad comfortable.
Thank you for the positive feedback about the care we provided for your Father. It's lovely to receive such nice comments and I will make sure your comments are passed on to the staff.
They were very caring and considerate, treating him with dignity and keeping him very clean and fresh, nothing was to much bother. They even made him laugh in the process!
As well as looking after him they also treated me with respect and always ask if I was doing OK, which was very helpful to me in the circumstances what with COVID restrictions making it so hard for everyone at this time.
Thank you for leaving such a lovely review. We will be sure to pass your comments onto the team. I am so glad that we were able to support both you and your husband, and he was able to remain at home for the last few weeks of his life.
Bluebird Colchester have looked after our Mother for over three years and before that my Father. We could not be happier with the service Mum has received. We have always found Bluebird Colchester to be professional, caring and extremely helpful with Mum's care. They have always been reliable and supportive and we can honestly say we have never had an issue with any aspect of their care. Unfortunately Mum has had to move into a dementia nursing home as she can no longer stay at home. They will have their work cut out to reach the high standards of care we have received from Bluebird Colchester. We want to thank everyone from management to carers for everything they have done. We are more than happy to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you Bluebird Colchester.
Thank you so much for your kind words and acknowledgement of all the good work our Care Staff provide.
Excellent, caring and sensitivity towards my father's needs. Excellent knowledge of medical care received and following up any issues with my father's doctor.
Thank you so much for your kind words and acknowledgement of all the good work our Care Staff provide.
I have been very impressed with the service the girls have given me. They are polite, cheerful, and friendly. Thank you.

Meet the Team (8)
My journey with Bluebird Care started when my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I was working as a Senior Social worker for Essex County Council and thought it would be a simple task to find a quality care company to support both my father and mother at our family home in Tendring. Unfortunately, this was not the case and proved to be a very difficult task.
During my search for a company that cared for its customers and shared my values, I found Bluebird Care, however, its services were not provided in the Tendring area. My experience and difficulty with finding the right provider made me realise how significantly I wanted to make a positive difference in the community to help and support people in their own homes and deliver the quality of care they deserve.
In March 2010 Bluebird Care Colchester & Tendring first opened its offices in Wivenhoe providing care across the Tendring and Colchester areas. Since 2010 the company has grown vastly and is continuing to do so, now providing care throughout North East Essex. We are committed to our customers and our staff, many of which have been with us from the beginning.
“Would this be what I would want for my family?” This question is something that is embedded in our team’s values and drives them to provide the best possible care to our customers. Our mission statement since the first day has been “we aim to set standards of excellence and innovation for the care we provide our customers and for the training and support we give to our staff” and this still remains at the heart of the business.
If you would like to speak to me about home care please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Prior to coming to Bluebird Care, I built my career by becoming an Office Manager for a different Care provider and within this role I supported the day to day management of the business. In 2010 I then progressed to become a Care Manager.
I have worked at Bluebird Care since its Tendring offices opened as the registered Care Manager. I am now the Registered Care Manager for both the Colchester and Tendring and Braintree and Uttlesford offices and has completed my Level 4 Diploma in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care.
In 2020 I became our Registered Operations Manager and will be working towards an Operations Departmental Manager qualification.
I qualified as a Psychiatric Nurse over 20 years ago and have a range of experience working within the NHS in various psychiatric Care Settings including secure units in hospitals. Prior to joining Bluebird Care, I worked as a Community Psychiatric Nurse as part of the NHS team.
I transferred to the private sector and joined Bluebird Care in April 2019. As part of my current role, I help new customers learn more about Bluebird Care and the type of care and support we can provide for their mental health needs, and support the Supervisors in building a bespoke Care Plan to match the customers’ needs, lifestyle and ultimately help them remain independent within their own home. As part of this, I provide bespoke training to staff to educate them on mental health needs as well as to structure support for staff to help build their internal resilience and understand how to improve their own mental well-being.
I started my career in Care just over 18 years ago as a Care Assistant in a residential home; I was introduced to Care when I had my first baby and was looking for a flexible role that could make a difference but also fit around my new family life. Members of my family already worked in Care, so I knew that it was something I wanted to try.
20 years later and I love the difference that you can make to people's lives in the community. I am thankful for the qualifications and knowledge I have gained over the past 18 years in different care settings, and I'm pleased to be able to pass on that knowledge and support our Care Team to be the best they can be for our customers in the community.
I have two children of my own, and my youngest is so proud of what we do and the difference that we make, that she hopes to grow up one day to be a Care Assistant herself. I love how much the Care team and my own career has inspired her, and I hope to inspire more people to get involved in the Care industry; there really is nothing quite like the feeling you get when you're helping someone, and knowing because of you they can remain independent in their own home in the community.
With my current role, I support the Care team to continue reaching and exceeding the high standards of care we provide at Bluebird Care. I create meaningful and educational training content to inform and support the Care team's understanding of their roles and equip them with the tools they need to be prepared for any situation that they could face in the community.
I've been on a remarkable journey in the field of caregiving that began in 1997. Starting as a dedicated Care Assistant, I've steadily worked my way up to becoming a Registered Care Manager. Over the years, I've cultivated a deep passion for providing quality care and support to those in need, always striving to make a positive impact.
Beyond my professional life, I'm a fervent sports enthusiast, with a particular fondness for netball and football. In addition to enjoying these sports as a fan, I've taken on the role of managing an all-inclusive youth football team. It's been a rewarding experience, promoting inclusivity and nurturing young talents both on and off the field.
For the past seven years, I've had the privilege of being a part of the Bluebird Care family. During this time, my dedication to supporting team members and customers has remained unwavering. In a world where my passion for caregiving and love for sports intersect, I find fulfilment in making a difference in the lives of those I care for and in the sporting community, I'm deeply involved with.
My journey to where I am now has been a bit random, I started coaching football and teaching P.E. lessons, and from there I went into a warehouse where after a couple of years I became a supervisor and really enjoyed the problem-solving and different challenges it would bring. In 2018 I suffered the loss of my first baby which really hit me hard, but the support I received made me want to give back, to help and support people. So, in 2020 I made a decision that would change my life forever and join Bluebird's Rapid Response team, hands down the best career decision I ever made. From there I have go on to become a Senior and now Supervisor which I am really enjoying.
Outside of work, I love watching football and big Liverpool fan, I enjoy being active going for walks, spending time with my ever-growing family and trying new things, especially food I love food.
I have worked in the caring industry for over 23 years, my first job was in a Mental Health Rehabilitation Home. I have worked in various settings from mental health, learning disabilities, elderly to looking after a lady with a brain injury and her 4 children.
I have worked in care home settings and in the community. I came to Bluebird as the HR Administrator for the Braintree office, in May 2021. Alongside this role, I was helping on the recruitment side for Braintree and the opportunity came up to oversee the Recruitment for both offices which I was happy to do.
I like talking to people and generally, I am a good judge of character which I believe are key skill when recruiting Carers. Outside of work, I love spending time with family/friends, reading and listening to music, and going to the odd concert.
Football has always held a special place in my heart. I am an unwavering supporter of Manchester United, proudly wearing their colours and living and breathing each match. But my connection to the beautiful game runs deeper than that. I am an active participant, and every Saturday, you'll find me on the field, donning the Kings Park Rangers jersey. Football isn't just a hobby; it's a passion that fuels my spirit and provides me with a sense of purpose.
In 2020, I embarked on a career in the care sector, assuming the role of a finance manager. Over the course of three years, I've taken on the responsibility of managing the financial aspects of the industry, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support the care of those in need. My journey began with a small, family-centred care company, where I gained invaluable experience and developed a deep understanding of the financial intricacies involved in providing quality care.
I started with Bluebird Care in January 2023 this marked a significant turning point in my career when I joined Bluebird Care, a distinguished care organization renowned for its commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Here, my expertise in finance has found a new purpose as I contribute to the financial stability of the organization, enabling it to continue making a positive impact on the lives of its clients.
