Overall Experience

Flexicare staff have been looking after my husband for 2/3 years until his death last month. They were all prompt, very competent, well turned out, and a pleasure to have in the house. My husband looked forward to them coming. They brightened his day when his quality of life was not good. Thye became friends to both of us. I cannot praise them too highly. Dealings with the office were also very good. Requests for assistance to hospital visits and the like were always met. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company and indeed have already done so.

Thank you for your very kind words, I know the carers were very fond of your husband, as were those in the office who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Kevin Whaley

Hello, I am Kevin.

I am passionate about ensuring people receive the highest quality care and support. As Managing Director, I oversee the day-to-day running of the business while also leading on the development of new opportunities and strategic partnerships. My focus is on creating more holistic, person-centred care packages that truly meet the needs of those we support.

I am committed to continually improving individuals’ well-being and peace of mind by broadening access to services and developing new ventures that complement the care we provide in people’s own homes. A key priority for me is creating more community-based opportunities that enhance quality of life and help reduce loneliness.

I studied Business Management at the University of Leeds and hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my young family and friends, as well as swimming, travelling, and supporting Leeds United.

Hello, I am Ann.

I have been involved in social care from a young age, volunteering across a variety of settings since my teenage years. This early experience inspired me to make a significant career change, leaving behind a successful 29-year career in business and IT management to pursue a new path in health and social care.

To support this transition, I completed a Psychology Honours degree along with postgraduate studies at the University of Leeds, and I also hold a Level 7 Diploma in Management & Leadership in Health & Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.

I am passionate about delivering holistic care, with a strong focus on emotional and psychological well-being alongside physical health, and I have a keen interest in the use of assisted technologies. Supporting families and loved ones who act as primary carers is also very important to me.

My research interests include approaches to maintaining emotional well-being, dementia care, and nutrition in later life.

I strongly believe in promoting self-development within the workforce and am committed to supporting learning and training opportunities for all staff.

I have been married since 1978 and have two sons and three grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, reading, and visiting my extended family in Ireland.

Kim Whaley

Hello, I am Kim.

After university, I began my career in IT, working my way up to Technical Director at a successful software house over a period of 10 years. I then went on to work as an independent consultant for a major global bank for over 15 years, gaining a wide range of experience while always focusing on delivering a high level of service.

As Flexicare at Home grew, I joined the business in 2012 as Finance and IT Director to support the company in these areas. Today, I continue to be involved on a part-time basis, looking after the financial side of the business and helping to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Being part of a family-run business is something I value greatly, and I take pride in supporting the team to ensure we can continue delivering reliable, high-quality care to the people we serve.

Outside of work, I enjoy daily walks around Mirfield as well as spending time on the golf course.

Lindsey Holdsworth Job Title: Operations Manager Joined: 2026
Lindsey Holdsworth

Hello, I’m Lindsey.

I began my career in childcare as a nursery nurse and went on to qualify as a SENCO, developing a strong foundation in supporting children with additional needs. I later moved into a home care role, providing specialist support for children with complex clinical needs in their own homes. Through my commitment and experience, I progressed into management and became a Registered Manager, overseeing 32 children’s care packages.

Following the sale of that business, I moved into adult services as a Registered Manager for a domiciliary care provider covering Leeds and Barnsley. In this role, I managed two offices and continued to build on my leadership skills, drawing on my experience across both children’s and adult community care settings.

This journey naturally led me to my current role as Operations Manager at Flexicare at Home, where I’m passionate about delivering high-quality, safe, and truly person-centred care.

I hold a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management, a Level 4 qualification in Safeguarding, as well as childcare and SENCO qualifications, all of which underpin my approach to delivering effective and compassionate care.

Outside of work, I’m married with two sons, and together with my husband, we run a busy household that also includes two dogs and two cats. I really value my downtime with family, spending time outdoors, walking, mountain biking with the kids, and enjoying football. Sundays, especially, are all about football, where you’ll often find me on the sidelines cheering on my son.

Michelle Fotherby

Hello, I’m Michelle, and I have been providing compassionate, attentive care to my clients since 2019 after completing an intense Access to Higher Education Diploma for Healthcare Professionals. Building trusting relationships is at the heart of everything I do, and I take great pride in offering a warm, supportive approach while helping to enhance the well-being of those I care for.

I’ve been fortunate to grow with the Flexicare team over the years, starting as a Care Assistant, progressing to Community Team Leader, and now working as one of the Care Coordinators. It’s been a rewarding journey, and one that reflects my passion for delivering high-quality care.

In my current role, I support the smooth running of the service through care coordination, rota management, and assisting with HR functions. I enjoy being able to support both our clients and our team, and I always aim to approach my work with care, attention to detail, and understanding.

I’m proud to be part of a team that truly values both its clients and its staff.

Karla Tatlisu Job Title: Care Coordinator Joined: 2026
Karla Tatlisu

Hello,

My name is Karla, and I am happy to be one of the three Care Coordinators at Flexicare at Home and a member of a strong Management Team.

I began my career in education, supporting children with complex needs and disabilities. This role provided valuable experience working alongside multidisciplinary professionals, including speech and language therapists, psychologists, behaviour specialists, and teams at Manchester Children’s Hospital. These experiences helped shape my strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Following a period of travelling, I returned to the UK and, after supporting my grandmother during a decline in her health, felt inspired to transition into adult social care. Since then, I have gained extensive frontline experience, progressing to senior carer and into management roles.

Most recently, I worked in Care Quality Assurance, where I was responsible for monitoring service standards and ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and well-governed care.

I have two Level 3 Diplomas: 1) Care, 2) Child Care and Education. I have certificates in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and a Diploma in Mindfulness.

I am delighted to be working for Flexicare at Home, a service that clearly prioritises the well-being of its service users and values a supportive team environment.

I look forward to contributing positively to the service.

Eleanor Boyle

Hi! I’m Eleanor. I’m originally from Leeds and have recently returned to the UK after a few years living in Australia. I love to travel and am always dreaming about my next adventure.

Professionally, I’ve built my career supporting people with complex mental health needs, alongside experience in disability and aged care. I’ve also worked in residential childcare, which really shaped my approach to person-centred support and working with a wide range of individual needs. Earlier in my career, I worked in sales, which helped me develop strong communication skills and a real passion for building meaningful relationships.

I hold a degree in Counselling and Mental Health, as well as a Level 5 qualification in Management, Coaching and Mentoring. Most recently, I worked as a Service Coordinator in Australia, leading service delivery for 60 clients with disabilities, substance misuse challenges, and complex mental health needs.

I was really drawn to Flexicare at Home not only because of its ethos—it genuinely feels like a diamond in the social care world—but also because of the varied nature of the role. I work alongside the other Care Coordinators, taking turns to support care management, HR, and rota management. Gaining experience across all three areas allows me to fully appreciate everything that goes into providing a high-quality, premium service.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me at a yoga class, listening to music, or making plans with friends. I’m naturally outgoing, love meeting new people, and always enjoy a good laugh.
