Overall, I found the carers very friendly, efficient, polite and caring, and there were times when they exceeded their duties. I miss them and miss their company. It is not only the resident that the carers dealt with but the resident's carer also needs support, which they accomplished.
As Mum had dementia and didn't recognise strangers we requested a regular carer. Thames Care gave us a regular carer which was great and she got to know mum well. They were very supportive and kind, and when we needed more help they supplied it at times that were convenient for us. Always alert to potential problems. Both the carers and the admin staff were great and I would certainly use them again if necessary.
Thames Care were recommended by a neighbour and they have provided care for my father for over three years, before he required additional 24 hour care in a home. We have been very pleased with the quality of care from their kind and efficient staff. In three years, there was never a missed appointment and they were always flexible if additional visits were required. We are very pleased to recommend Thames Care to others.
Thames Care provided a really wonderful service to my auntie. From the very start, they were friendly, professional and caring and my auntie very much enjoyed their visits. They went over and above on several occasions, helping her out and ensuring she was safeguarded. Our family cannot thank them enough and would highly recommend this great company, who really helped us.
Thames Care provided carers for my father for several years. They have given a very personalised service tailoring the care given to the needs of the client. Thames Care always dealt with issues quickly, efficiently and sensitively. They always reacted appropriately to any changing circumstances and kept us informed of their decisions. Carers kept high standards. At Thames Care, there has always been somebody available to contact whenever we needed to speak and this gave us peace of mind. Many thanks to all involved.
Having selected 3 providers for interview, we chose Thames Care and were not disappointed. My mother was very happy with the carers and the service provided. They fully met the expectation they set at the original interview.
My family and I will never forget the care and dedication shown to my father by his carers, during the last few weeks of his life. You gave him back his dignity and that is something that will never be forgotten. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We engaged Thames Care to support my parents-in-law initially for one visits a day, which later became full live-in care plus working nights 7-days a week. The needs of my father-in-law especially were ever-changing. Thames Care was always willing to approach this in a responsive and proactive way. They adapted care plans and input where needed. There were teething issues at times, which were quickly and calmly resolved. On the whole, the care and support given were excellent.
My family and I are so thankful to Thames Care for the professional and kind support they gave our Mum. They were always flexible and accommodating in Mums changing needs. Mum enjoyed the support they gave her from personal care to companionship visits. Mum always called her support workers my "ladies" - it was a comfort to know that Mum was being given such excellent care. We would hear laughter and chatter with Mum during their visits. In particular, they were unbelievable wonderful in their support of Mum and the family as her health failed, and we moved into palliative care. Supporting Mum with such kindness in her last days, which enable us to support Mum at home. Thank you, Thames Care team.
Very efficient, reliable, satisfactory, cheerful.
Fantastic service - able to respond quickly to put a care plan in place at very short notice, which allowed me to retain my independence after an accident. Reliable and flexible, great communication and the standard of care was exactly what I needed.
I can't thank Thames Care enough for the excellent care and support they gave my mother for nearly 3 years. The team always acted very professional, at all times, especially through this pandemic we are all coping with. My mum loved her carers and always looked forward to their visits. They also helped and supported me and the family, which was a real comfort. Well done all of you - great team - you were our lifeline.
I have found Thames Care to be most helpful. Anything that I need to discuss is done with care and always administered. Mum has been very happy with her carers. Thank you to all the team for your help.
Extremely helpful from the start. Carers are excellent on time every day and always very pleasant. Very professional.
We used Thames Care to look after our mother. Right from the start, we were very pleased with the carers that visited mum; they were all brilliant. I would recommend them to anyone that needed the service to care for a loved one; they were very helpful in every way. I cannot praise them enough, thank you, Thames Care.
My husband has a regular carer who is very professional and conscientious.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thames Care.
Considerable care taken to adjust to the individual needs of clients. Responsive to changes in needs and good communication with family.
I have been using the services of Thames Care for just over a year and have been very satisfied, particularly with my individual carer. I have no complaints about the care I receive.
The carers are always polite, pleasant and always ready to respond to any requests. They wear gloves and protective aprons, which they change, if need be, in order to perform a certain task such as applying cream to the legs. The carers arrive punctually and always greet me cheerfully. The idea of having a designated carer is excellent as it gives a heightened sense of security and the knowledge that the care given will be exactly to ones liking.
The young ladies are all pleasant and a great help and set me up for the day.

Chris has operated a care service in Reading, Wokingham and Henley-on-Thames since 2011. Chris believes that Thames Care serves the interests not only of its clients, but of the wider community too, through the provision of quality in-home care, given by highly trained and motivated care staff. He says: “We understand the concern associated with having an organisation help to care for a loved one, and work together with our clients and their families to develop both trust and understanding.
Through our first class service provision we aim to give clients’ relatives the comfort of knowing that, whatever the situation, we will go that extra mile to ensure our clients can live comfortably, safely and above all happily in their own homes.” Chris enjoys creating and leading teams, giving people the opportunity for personal growth and allowing them to greater contribute to their team being the best in their chosen field.
With over 18 Years of experience I have been able to bring my knowledge and experience to Thames Care and have a great input whilst working alongside the Registered Manager. I believe it is important to provide good quality care to our clients, not only does this offer reassurance to them but also to their families in knowing that their loved ones are being looked after safely.
My role as Care Manager, involves me meeting potential new clients in their homes or hospital settings and to assist them to be actively involved when setting up a new care package to suit their needs and wishes, allowing them to remain in their own homes whilst maintaining their independence. I closely monitor all care provided to ensure the needs are met and I actively participate in the provision of care in the client’s own home and am always looking for opportunities to improve the service that we provide.
“My introduction to care came in 1998 through an opportunity to work in a nursing home and I subsequently moved into the domiciliary care field. I worked for the same domiciliary care company from 2001 until 2013 gradually working my way to becoming a Recruitment and Training Manager.
An opportunity came to try pastures new and decided that this was the right time for me to make a move. I have been working for Thames Care since this time in the capacity of Training and Development Manager. Since my first day at Thames Care, I have been made to feel welcome and part of the friendly dedicated team of staff. Working with a diverse care staff that has different experiences from me, listening to and sharing our experiences is a very enjoyable part of my job. “
I have been working in care for 10 years and have been with Thames Care for 7 years. I enjoy my role as a co-ordinator because it’s busy and challenging. Thames care is a great company to work for as the staff are well looked after which creates a helpful and friendly atmosphere where people work as a team. It’s so rewarding seeing the difference we make to people’s lives, assisting them to retain their independence and remain living in their own home
I have worked for Thames Care since February 2019, having spent 14 years working for Thames Valley Police I felt a new challenge and change of career was due.
When I joined Thames Care I worked as a domiciliary care assistant until I started working in the office as a Care Co-ordinator. Then in September 2020, I took over responsibility for overseeing the Live-in care packages, being promoted to Lead Care Co-ordinator. Working in the office is a busy and demanding role, however, doing this alongside such a good team makes every day satisfying. We all work as part of a team that together provides a committed service to our clients. Assisting people to improve their quality of life is very rewarding and I go home every day knowing I have made a difference.
