Chris has operated a care service in Reading, Wokingham and Henley-on-Thames since 2011. Chris believes that Thames Care serves the interests not only of its clients, but of the wider community too, through the provision of quality in-home care, given by highly trained and motivated care staff. He says: “We understand the concern associated with having an organisation help to care for a loved one, and work together with our clients and their families to develop both trust and understanding.


Through our first class service provision we aim to give clients’ relatives the comfort of knowing that, whatever the situation, we will go that extra mile to ensure our clients can live comfortably, safely and above all happily in their own homes.” Chris enjoys creating and leading teams, giving people the opportunity for personal growth and allowing them to greater contribute to their team being the best in their chosen field.

With over 18 Years of experience I have been able to bring my knowledge and experience to Thames Care and have a great input whilst working alongside the Registered Manager. I believe it is important to provide good quality care to our clients, not only does this offer reassurance to them but also to their families in knowing that their loved ones are being looked after safely.


My role as Care Manager, involves me meeting potential new clients in their homes or hospital settings and to assist them to be actively involved when setting up a new care package to suit their needs and wishes, allowing them to remain in their own homes whilst maintaining their independence. I closely monitor all care provided to ensure the needs are met and I actively participate in the provision of care in the client’s own home and am always looking for opportunities to improve the service that we provide.

“My introduction to care came in 1998 through an opportunity to work in a nursing home and I subsequently moved into the domiciliary care field. I worked for the same domiciliary care company from 2001 until 2013 gradually working my way to becoming a Recruitment and Training Manager.


An opportunity came to try pastures new and decided that this was the right time for me to make a move. I have been working for Thames Care since this time in the capacity of Training and Development Manager. I have worked for Thames Care since February 2019, having spent 14 years working for Thames Valley Police I felt a new challenge and change of career was due.


When I joined Thames Care I worked as a domiciliary care assistant until I started working in the office as a Care Co-ordinator. Then in September 2020, I took over responsibility for overseeing the Live-in care packages, being promoted to Lead Care Co-ordinator. Working in the office is a busy and demanding role, however, doing this alongside such a good team makes every day satisfying. We all work as part of a team that together provides a committed service to our clients. Assisting people to improve their quality of life is very rewarding and I go home every day knowing I have made a difference.
