It took several months for staff to call my grandmother by her preferred name, which caused much confusion for my grandmother and frustration for my family.
When a review was carried out by Bluebird Care, we as a family were reassured that the problems would have been solved, but they were not.
I would not recommend Bluebird Care to support anyone with dementia related illnesses as from what we experienced as a family, caused many problems and upset.
Thank you for taking the time to send in your review - We set a high standard for ourselves when delivering support to our customers, and we're so sorry to hear this was not met in your interaction with our business. We fully investigated the issues that you initially raised and liaised with other...
Such kind and friendly and patient staff. A big relief knowing that Mum is safe & has company Thank you. Mum really enjoys the visits & frequently talks about the staff
Thank you for sharing your lovely words about our team. Knowing your mum feels safe and enjoys our visits brings us great joy.
I couldn't be happier for the help Bluebird give us.
Thank you for your kind comments. We are pleased that we make a difference and offer support for you and Martin
I am very pleased with Bluebird's care. The carers arrive on time and stay up to 30/40 mins. Some carers talk with me about daily news and family. Other are very taciturn especially 2 of the girls. All carers wear uniform. I tease some who come who display "Bluebird" on black tops and trousers. I would like visits from physiotherapists to help me to walk.
Thank you for taking the time to review our services. We are pleased that the careworkers make a difference to your day. I will pass your comments on to your team.
We are extremely pleased with the care that Mum is recieving. The three ladies that visit here are very patient and understanding. We would certainly recommend Bluebird Care to other people in our situation.
Thank you so much for your comments it is much appreciated. I will pass your comments on to our staff as this is what makes their job worthwhile. I am pleased that we are able to support your Mum as this time

My mother has now been with BBC for several years. The level of service is excellent with my mother having built up a strong and beneficial set of relationships with all the carers that visit her 3 times a day. BBC not only delivers the highest level of care to my mother but always keep me informed with any concerns they may have concerning her welfare. Their daily online reporting system completed every day is a real help in keeping tabs on how well my mother is doing and again for raising any concerns. I would highly recomend BBC.
Best Wishes,
Dawn
Bluebird carers started visiting 2 weeks ago. We've probably had about 8-10 different carers from them and they've all been brilliant - very professional and caring. They're happy to help with anything in the house if they have extra time from their personal care duties. I would recommend to anyone who needs care and can afford it because it's not cheap. But we think it's good value for money in this personally difficult time for us.
Best Wishes,
Dawn
I have been very pleased with the service I have received. I have found the staff to be efficient and cooperative. I would have no hesitation in recommending the agency to others.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a great review, this is so appreciated. It is wonderful to hear about how well you are enjoying having our Care Experts visit you in your home, and we are very grateful that you would feel able to recommend us as a service to other people in your life.Best Wishes
I find the staff very efficient and pleasant and helpful. They always ask if there is anything else they can do and are very caring and respectful. They are smartly dressed in uniforms and used the appropriate PPE.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. It is fantastic to hear of the wonderful service you are receiving, and we are pleased to hear that our Care Experts are always smart and helpful to you.Best Wishes,
The staff are very caring and treat me with dignity. They are also very thoughtful.
Thank you for taking the time to send in a review. It is lovely to hear that our staff support you in a way that respects your dignity and choices.
I am extremely grateful to Bluebird Care and the whole team for the care + support they provide on a daily basis for my aunt. The live-in carers especially work together as a good team + have helped my aunt + the family get through a number of difficulties in recent months. It has been hugely reassuring to be able to talk about my aunt's care on a regular basis, especially since I live a great distance away. Thank you so much for everything you have done + continue to do.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for us. I am so pleased that our live in team help support your Aunt and the family as a whole. We realise how difficult it is to live far away and aim to keep those lines of communication open as things can change so quickly.
I recommend Bluebird to anyone who may be in need.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. It is wonderful to hear that your Mum was well supported across all of our services - we really do strive to keep people at home feeling safe and secure and providing peace of mind for families within both our domiciliary care and live in services.
24/7 Carers are dedicated and cheerful in their demeanour as are our mother's Respite carers. They fulfill her medical needs regarding administering prescription medication or assisting the physiotherapist or podiatrist or community nursing team when they visit. All carers work alongside eachother and other medical personnel for our mother's health and welfare constructively and cooperatively. They always place our mother's care needs first and respond sensitively to her wishes at all times striving to please her and ensure her comfort and dignity are maintained.
In addition, Bluebird carers do an excellent job keeping our mother's home clean, tidy and welcoming for her and for family and friends who visit. Visiting OTs and other professionals have remarked on how lucky our mother is to be receiving such a high standard of care in her own home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review. Everything that you have mentioned is what we strive to achieve everyday in order to make our customers and families feel supported in receiving the care that they require. Working with our healthcare colleagues is also...
Bluebird Care were fantastic. Always reliable, which Mum loved. Communication was always good and Mum was always impressed with the carers, who they always tried to keep as regular. The carers were kind, thoughtful and willing to help however they could. Thank you for the help in transition from home care to nursing residential care.
Thank you for completing a review for us. I am pleased that we were able to support your Mum at home and help to make the journey from her home to a care home go more smoothly. We appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone concerned and aim to help with the transition as much as possible.
A thorough and sensitive review of my mum's care with Bluebird.
A useful meeting. Thank you.
Thank you for completing a review for us. We hold reviews to ensure that we are providing the support that is required and in order to make any changes that are required. However, we make changes regularly as required. I am pleased that you felt that this was beneficial and will pass your comments onto the Care manager.
The carers are the most thoughtful + kind people always go the extra mile and makes us laugh even early in the morning, made our lives easier and takes the stress out. Thank you all we are so grateful.
Best Wishes,
Dawn
We used the domiciliary care service provided by Bluebird Care for my father-in-law. As his needs changed, they showed flexibility and the communication from the care team and management was truly excellent. Not living close to him, the daily notes were invaluable and the manager was always quick to respond to emails and calls. The office team were always on hand and the out-of-hours service was helpful and efficient. The whole team cared about my father-in-law's welfare and it really showed in the overall care he received. I seriously can't fault them. We've recently had to move to full-time live-in care but of course, we have stayed with Bluebird Care.
Thank you so much for posting a review, it really means a lot to us. We are so pleased that we are able to support your father-in-law with his changing needs. Our aim is to offer a service that supports people from one visit a week through to live-in and everything in between. We enable people to...
Having carers each morning enables Mum to start the day well.
Thank you for writing a review - we are very pleased that we make a difference to your mum's day - that is what we aim for every day.
We remain very happy with the quality and the care provided by Bluebird Care. We are also pleased with the way in which management responds to issues/queries that arise from time to time. Communication is generally excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us, we really appreciate you taking the time to do so and it means a lot to the teams. Communication is something that the office team works really hard on so it's great to hear that your experience is excellent. I will make sure that this is passed on to the teams as we all like to know that we are doing a good job. Many thanks.

Alexander is a retired Infantry Officer of the British Army where he served tours in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. Having left the army, he completed a Master’s business degree and worked in London for a national energy company. Alexander has spent a lot of his spare time fundraising and organising events to raise money and awareness for the ‘British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association’, BLESMA.
Alexander enjoys surfing on Bantham Beach and is an avid photographer and is also occasionally seen accompanying Emma on his 1965 BSA Bantam ‘Tom’ when the mood takes his bike.
Emma originally hails from Ireland, but after deciding to do a Master’s degree in business and the environment in London, she first fell in love with a Boy and soon after with Devon. After various management positions she was excited at the prospect of trying to effect real change in the care industry. She wanted to improve how the sector was viewed, how people within the industry were valued and since 2012 her and Alexander (said Boy) have been trying to do just this, along with raising their three children.
Emma is passionate about providing the highest level of service to each customer and firmly believes in the importance of local working.
In her spare time, Emma likes to take her 1955 BSA Bantam D1 ‘Peggy’ out on the road to explore the countryside. She loves walks on the beach with their two dogs and occasionally braves a surf although will more often than not be seen in the white wash close to the shore.
I am very proud to be the operations manager of Bluebird Care Torbay, Plymouth and South Hams. I joined the team as Registered Manager in 2018, but in 2020 took over the role of Operations Manager. Since that time, I have supported the team to go from strength to strength. Both Plymouth Torbay and Live in services were rated Outstanding, which is the best accolade that we could receive as a marker of both our success and the quality of the support we provide to our customers.
I have over 30 years of experience working in the health and social care field, and I remain registered with the Healthcare Professional Council as a Social Worker. I have worked in social service departments and the NHS for a large part of my career.
Carol joined the team as a Locality Manager in Feb 2018, having spent the previous ten years managing a multi-site operation delivering a service to the elderly across Devon.
In Nov 2018, the Live-in Care Manager position became available and Carol was excited to step into this role and begin developing the service.
As the Live-in Care Manager, it is Carol’s responsibility to deliver support packages that enable her customers to live safely & independently in their own homes for as long as possible. She communicates with her customers, family members and health professionals daily, she leads by providing support & guidance to a team of dedicated carers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people in our community.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family & friends and taking long walks on the beach with her husband and dog Reggie.
Dawn joined the Bluebird Care team in 2019 but has worked in the Care Industry since 2006. She has progressively worked her way to the position of Registered Manager after completing her NVQ Level 5 Health and Social Care Qualification. The fact that she has worked as a care assistant and graduated from community to office within the same sector gives her an empathetic view throughout.
In her spare time, you will find Dawn across the South West, at cat shows, where she will be gaining Championship titles for her privileged felines or walking with her other animal love, her gorgeous springer spaniel Bailey. When she finally sits down, she loves a good book.
Nina is a live-in care manager, supporting the live-in service in Plymouth, South Hams, Totnes and Torbay.
Georgia worked in a pub before joining us at Bluebird Care in 2020. Georgia initially joined as a care assistant before joining the office team in November 2023 as our Care Coordinator, which is a role she enjoys and has gone from strength to strength in. Georgia is currently working towards gaining her NVQ level 3 Qualification in Health and Social Care. As Care Coordinator, Georgia has the often time challenging role of marrying customer needs to care assistant availability whilst always watching continuity – it is quite a game of chess!
In Georgia’s spare time, you will find her snuggling her two dogs, Reggie and Sushi, especially after a night out enjoyed with friends.
Kerry joined the live-in team as a Field care supervisor, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the NHS.
Kerrie has many years of experience as a support worker and joined us recently.
Helen joined Bluebird as a care worker in 2015 and was promoted to field supervisor in March 2021. Helen's role is to provide contingency care cover, monitor and mentor care workers in the field, and support the functioning of the office. Helen is in charge of the customer sparkles alongside Julia.
Helen's passion outside of work is her dogs.
Holly joined Bluebird Care in 2024. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge within the care industry, having worked in both domiciliary and residential settings for 14 years. Holly has gained her NVQ level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, and throughout her career has had a strong focus on dementia. Holly worked predominantly in a care home setting, which allowed her to work closely with people living with dementia. She learned first-hand the challenges people with dementia symptoms and their caregivers face, and from this found ways to improve the quality of someone living with these symptoms.
Holly has also worked closely with the various dementia teams throughout Plymouth, who contribute to the stages of progression from diagnosis to end of life and has learned the science behind this syndrome and what medications are used to slow down the effects. She has successfully completed the train-the-trainer course in dementia care and has also had the privilege of completing the End of Life Course with St. Luke's Hospice to improve the experiences of all involved with end of life and the knowledge around it.
Lisa joined our team in 2023 but has worked in care since 2005, working in domiciliary care, as an agency carer and then in a mental health care home, which she really enjoyed. After doing this for many years, Lisa wanted a challenge and moved to being a health and social care assessor. During this time, Lisa supported care staff to gain their care certificates, and level 2, 3 and 4 diplomas.
As enjoyable as this was, Lisa did miss the care side of the sector. This is when Lisa decided to make the move to Bluebird Care, and has since not looked back. Lisa is very family-oriented and has four grown children and one granddaughter. Lisa loves to spend time with her family and walking her two cockapoos, Stanley and Reggie.
