We remain very happy with the quality and the care provided by Bluebird Care. We are also pleased with the way in which management responds to issues/queries that arise from time to time. Communication is generally excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us, we really appreciate you taking the time to do so and it means a lot to the teams. Communication is something that the office team works really hard on so it's great to hear that your experience is excellent. I will make sure that this is passed on to the teams as we all like to know that we are doing a good job. Many thanks.
Mom had wonderful care from Bluebird. All carers were very professional and caring. Certainly would use Bluebird again.
Thank you for reviewing our service. I am pleased that you and your mum were happy with the service that we provided. It also means so much to us to know that you would also use our service again should you need to. Thank you.
He lives independently in a self-contained apartment.
All carers are lovely, friendly and experienced. The management is always on hand and very adaptive with clients' needs, always on time, chat throughout the visits as well. The app is amazing, you can see the care visit and also rota for peace of mind.
Highly recommend Bluebird and thank you for looking after our dad so well.
We feel confident he has the best care when we need to go away.
Very pleased with the service and recording keeping for Mother's care. During the period of care her needs increased from 2 to 4 visits per day. The increasing number of falls meant that a single carer was insufficient to cope with her growing needs. All carers spent time talking with Mother as well as doing the ever-growing list of required tasks.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. I am pleased that we are able to support your Mum to stay at home and remain as independent as possible. Spending time talking to our customers is such an overlooked part of our role but one which adds value to the care workers' daily work and...
Mum can't sing the praises of Bluebird Care high enough. Mum says everyone has been wonderful and very caring. She has really enjoyed welcoming the carers into her home and eventually embraced her weekly dining visit. That was a result given her reluctance to accept care in the first place. My sister, brother and myself have valued the service and feedback. Highly recommended
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a positive review. We know how difficult it can be for people to let strangers into their home and we view this as a privilege. It is a testament to the carers who go into your mum that this has been such a positive experience. I will pass your comments on to your mum's team as this kind of review is what makes the job so worthwhile.
The staff portray a friendly and professional disposition which is most welcome and I have no hesitation in recommending the service.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for us. It really does mean so much to everyone here at Bluebird Care Plymouth & South Hams. We pride ourselves on providing professional and happy staff to help support our customers and we are pleased that you find this to be the case.
My mum has had twice weekly visits from Bluebird for almost a year. She and I have been impressed by the continuity of care, which means she feels very comfortable with the same carers who have got to know her and provide support in a very bespoke way. They have been reliable, respectful and compassionate from the word go. I feel reassured and grateful to have them (and the pleasant office staff!) take care of Mum.
Thank you for your kind words. I will make sure that they get passed on to your mum's regular carers. We try our best to provide continuity of care as we know how daunting it can be having different people in and out of your home. I am very pleased that receiving support from us makes such a difference to you and your mum.
Very pleased with the company who provided day care to my son.
Thank you for reviewing us on homecare.co.uk. I am pleased that you are happy with the support that we provide to your son as we try our best to make a difference to our customers and their families.
The only point which is a little lacking is the administration but with lots of problems, weather, sickness, leave etc. of carers, they do a difficult job well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review, it really is important to us to hear how we are doing. I will speak to the registered manager regarding the administration side of things and ask her to give you a call to discuss further. I am pleased that you find the carers professional and helpful and we are happy to support you and your husband.
We needed to arrange care quickly to get my father out of the hospital. Most of the agencies I spoke to couldn't help at all or would arrange care in a few weeks. Bluebird offered care in a week and provided superb service. Communication was good, the office was well organised and the carers were all friendly, professional and patient. They were always punctual even when a storm put flooded roads and fallen trees in the way. Bluebird are not the cheapest care agency, but I cannot imagine anyone else giving a better service.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review for us. I am really pleased that we managed to support your father in coming home from the hospital as we know that people recover better in their own home. I will pass your kind words on to all of the office and care team.
Bluebird have been visiting my mum daily for a few months now after she had a series of falls. My mum was initially reluctant to accept any care but recently told me that she really enjoys their visits now, how pleasant, cheerful and helpful they all are. I already thought this from Day 1, from our initial meeting to discuss my mum’s requirements, to any ongoing requests or changes to care. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Thank you so much for writing a review for us, it really means so much to us all. I am pleased to hear that your mum is enjoying the visits from her care workers and wonderful that she has allowed us to provide support for her. I will pass your comments on to the rest of the team as it will really lift their spirits. Thank you.
Mum has only had care for two days per week during July and August 2023 so far. In that time, I have had contact with the carers, the management and the office staff. Without exception, all staff are professional, courteous and kind, being responsive to any queries or changes of need. I particularly appreciate how reliable the carers have been. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this agency to anyone who requires a care package.
Really pleased with the care provided with Bluebird Care Plymouth & South Hams, the carers are 'friendly, thoughtful and good with my husband.
Thank you for your kind words, they mean so much to us all. I am so pleased that we are able to support your husband and make a difference. Thank you for taking the time to complete this review.
I am delighted with the care I received and look forward to my visits.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review for us. We are very pleased that you look forward to your visits and that you are happy with the service you receive.
When one of the carers has been unavailable at short notice another is always provided by the company, often after a phone call explaining the changes.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. We are so pleased that the service we provide is meeting your expectations and providing support to both you and your wife.
Thank you to the carers and management. We felt reassured in Bluebird's care.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service - it really means the world to us. We strive to provide the best care and support to all of our customers and receiving your feedback makes it all worthwhile so thanks again.
Having employed Bluebird for over two years I have only once recommended that a particular carer no longer cares for me.
I am critical of Bluebird's management occasionally. I feel that whenever there is a management change affecting my carers, management should inform me accordingly.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. It is good to hear that the carers enable you to take delivery of your daily newspaper as its often the small things that make the biggest difference. I will pass your comments on to the office team regarding communication. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
First time using a care agency and have been very pleased with the service provider. Lovely staff and good support from management.
Thank you for your review. I am so pleased that your first experience of receiving support is a positive one and that it is Bluebird Care that is supporting you.
Our experience with Bluebird Care is very excellent, no trouble at all. The carers are so nice, on time and cheerful, which my husband needs. Nothing is too much trouble and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.
Thank you so much for taking the time to add a review. We are always pleased to hear that we are providing a quality service. I'm particularly pleased to hear that our carers are cheerful as 'smiles make smiles'.
The service provided by the carers was excellent - so cheerful and flexible! The office staff were very responsive to my changing schedules and could not be more helpful.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It is so lovely to get positive feedback and we will pass your comments on to our care workers and the office team.

Alexander is a retired Infantry Officer of the British Army where he served tours in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. Having left the army, he completed a Master’s business degree and worked in London for a national energy company. Alexander has spent a lot of his spare time fundraising and organising events to raise money and awareness for the ‘British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association’, BLESMA.
Alexander enjoys surfing on Bantham Beach and is an avid photographer and is also occasionally seen accompanying Emma on his 1965 BSA Bantam ‘Tom’ when the mood takes his bike.
Emma originally hails from Ireland, but after deciding to do a Master’s degree in business and the environment in London, she first fell in love with a Boy and soon after with Devon. After various management positions she was excited at the prospect of trying to effect real change in the care industry. She wanted to improve how the sector was viewed, how people within the industry were valued and since 2012 her and Alexander (said Boy) have been trying to do just this, along with raising their three children.
Emma is passionate about providing the highest level of service to each customer and firmly believes in the importance of local working.
In her spare time, Emma likes to take her 1955 BSA Bantam D1 ‘Peggy’ out on the road to explore the countryside. She loves walks on the beach with their two dogs and occasionally braves a surf although will more often than not be seen in the white wash close to the shore.
I am very proud to be the operations manager of Bluebird Care Torbay, Plymouth and South Hams. I joined the team as Registered Manager in 2018, but in 2020 took over the role of Operations Manager. Since that time, I have supported the team to go from strength to strength. Both Plymouth Torbay and Live in services were rated Outstanding, which is the best accolade that we could receive as a marker of both our success and the quality of the support we provide to our customers.
I have over 30 years of experience working in the health and social care field, and I remain registered with the Healthcare Professional Council as a Social Worker. I have worked in social service departments and the NHS for a large part of my career.
Carol joined the team as a Locality Manager in Feb 2018, having spent the previous ten years managing a multi-site operation delivering a service to the elderly across Devon.
In Nov 2018, the Live-in Care Manager position became available and Carol was excited to step into this role and begin developing the service.
As the Live-in Care Manager, it is Carol’s responsibility to deliver support packages that enable her customers to live safely & independently in their own homes for as long as possible. She communicates with her customers, family members and health professionals daily, she leads by providing support & guidance to a team of dedicated carers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people in our community.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family & friends and taking long walks on the beach with her husband and dog Reggie.
Dawn joined the Bluebird Care team in 2019 but has worked in the Care Industry since 2006. She has progressively worked her way to the position of Registered Manager after completing her NVQ Level 5 Health and Social Care Qualification. The fact that she has worked as a care assistant and graduated from community to office within the same sector gives her an empathetic view throughout.
In her spare time, you will find Dawn across the South West, at cat shows, where she will be gaining Championship titles for her privileged felines or walking with her other animal love, her gorgeous springer spaniel Bailey. When she finally sits down, she loves a good book.
Nina is a live-in care manager, supporting the live-in service in Plymouth, South Hams, Totnes and Torbay.
Georgia worked in a pub before joining us at Bluebird Care in 2020. Georgia initially joined as a care assistant before joining the office team in November 2023 as our Care Coordinator, which is a role she enjoys and has gone from strength to strength in. Georgia is currently working towards gaining her NVQ level 3 Qualification in Health and Social Care. As Care Coordinator, Georgia has the often time challenging role of marrying customer needs to care assistant availability whilst always watching continuity – it is quite a game of chess!
In Georgia’s spare time, you will find her snuggling her two dogs, Reggie and Sushi, especially after a night out enjoyed with friends.
Kerry joined the live-in team as a Field care supervisor, bringing with her a wealth of experience from the NHS.
Kerrie has many years of experience as a support worker and joined us recently.
Helen joined Bluebird as a care worker in 2015 and was promoted to field supervisor in March 2021. Helen's role is to provide contingency care cover, monitor and mentor care workers in the field, and support the functioning of the office. Helen is in charge of the customer sparkles alongside Julia.
Helen's passion outside of work is her dogs.
Holly joined Bluebird Care in 2024. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge within the care industry, having worked in both domiciliary and residential settings for 14 years. Holly has gained her NVQ level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, and throughout her career has had a strong focus on dementia. Holly worked predominantly in a care home setting, which allowed her to work closely with people living with dementia. She learned first-hand the challenges people with dementia symptoms and their caregivers face, and from this found ways to improve the quality of someone living with these symptoms.
Holly has also worked closely with the various dementia teams throughout Plymouth, who contribute to the stages of progression from diagnosis to end of life and has learned the science behind this syndrome and what medications are used to slow down the effects. She has successfully completed the train-the-trainer course in dementia care and has also had the privilege of completing the End of Life Course with St. Luke's Hospice to improve the experiences of all involved with end of life and the knowledge around it.
Lisa joined our team in 2023 but has worked in care since 2005, working in domiciliary care, as an agency carer and then in a mental health care home, which she really enjoyed. After doing this for many years, Lisa wanted a challenge and moved to being a health and social care assessor. During this time, Lisa supported care staff to gain their care certificates, and level 2, 3 and 4 diplomas.
As enjoyable as this was, Lisa did miss the care side of the sector. This is when Lisa decided to make the move to Bluebird Care, and has since not looked back. Lisa is very family-oriented and has four grown children and one granddaughter. Lisa loves to spend time with her family and walking her two cockapoos, Stanley and Reggie.
