Bluebird discussed the specific needs of my aunt carefully and with sensitivity. They proposed a suitable service and provided a carer who quickly established a good relationship. Excellent so far!

I contacted Bluebird Care Wandsworth for help with personal care for my brother who is disabled after a serious accident in New Zealand two years ago. The customer services manager gave me an excellent initial explanation of what services Bluebird Care could offer and what initiating the service would
entail. My brother agreed to go ahead with the offer.
The customer services then visited my brother’s flat and discussed the proposed service with him and me, as I am also caring for him. I was very impressed with the kind, professional and patient way she handled her discussion with my brother.
The carer started work a day later and she has been wonderful. She is very efficient, patient with my brother, and actively encourages him to take charge of aspects of his care.
My brother and I are both delighted with the service and support we have received.
My brother has read this review and he fully endorses it.

When my elderly and significantly disabled mother-in-law's live-in carer returned home for a well-earned three week break for Christmas last year, Bluebird was able to help. We were very relieved when they found just the right person for her. She was professional, efficient, caring, respectful and
she entered into the spirit of our Christmas festivities with great sensitivity. Thank you Bluebird for once again for providing exactly the help we needed.

Bluebird has been really fantastic over the last 6 months providing care and support of mum elderly mum who lives with Dementia. For about 6 years I'd managed to care for mum keeping her in her beloved flat, but as her illness is progressing it became really tough to continue without backup and I called
Bluebird. They reacted quickly with a visit from a very experienced customer care manager who understood exactly what was needed and took a lot of trouble to treat mum with respect as an individual. They've since provided night carers every night, and back-up with some day and evenings. We've been lucky enough to have some really first-rate carers. When we have needed help to make any adjustments, Bluebird has been impressively responsive. Thank you for all the support you are giving our family.

The service provided to date has been exemplary. Not only have all the staff who have provided care been exceptionally capable and kind they are well managed and the communication (important when one can not be present all the time) has been spot on.

Bluebird Care Wandsworth has been providing companionship care for my husband who suffers from dementia.
He is quite unsteady on his feet and they accompany him on a walk every week so that he can enjoy some of the outside life that he has missed during the lockdown and now increasingly because of
his dementia.
The carers have been thoughtful and understanding, patient and helpful. The management team has done very well in difficult circumstances - trying especially hard to meet our needs while having to adapt to changing staffing levels due to both pingdemic and pandemic. I'm very glad to have their support and would recommend them highly.

I contacted Bluebird for support for my brother who was moving back to London after a year spent shielding with us. My initial contact was by telephone to check if they were able to offer the type of support needed. This experience was extremely positive. I had a long discussion with one of the Directors
who, I felt, understood our situation completely. She was very professional but also very kind and understanding and confirmed that Bluebird Wandsworth would be able to meet our needs. We later met their Customer Services Manager once back in London - again, a very reassuring experience for us. She understood exactly what was needed and was positive, constructive, open, friendly and kind. My brother and I really warmed to her and I felt that, at every stage, Bluebird was committed to meeting our needs. We have since had to change our arrangement slightly and I have found them to be very flexible and helpful. I cannot speak too highly of them. They have exceeded my expectations.

We found Bluebird reassuring, caring, efficient and thorough from our first telephone contact
(quite late on a Friday afternoon ) to meeting the Manager for a full assessment the following Monday , to the prompt provision of the carefully selected carers for the complex care needs of my husband. The
carers were excellent and we liked the effort to ensure continuity of carers. The communication with the office was efficient and reassuring.
Bluebird is an excellent provider which we would recommend without hesitation. Thank you!

Engaging a Care Provider for an aged parent is a very stressful thing to have to sort out. Which company to employ, cost of care, level of care required etc. We were recommended by our local council to discuss with Bluebird and having no knowledge of the care industry we decided to go with them. Bluebird
(Wandsworth) was very understanding and offered very good advice. They made the process easy and the carers provided the help our mother needed at the time. We started with 2 x 1 hourly visits a day some 3 years ago and now have a full-time live-in carer. Our mother's full-time carer is everything we could have wished for. Genuine care and support to not only our mother but to us as well. We have complete faith and trust in her in looking after mum in these difficult times. When she had a holiday the stand in carer was equally very good which made the transition less stressful for mum and us.

Reply from Karina Corden, Owner at Bluebird Care Wandsworth

Thank you very much for your kind review. We appreciate just how confusing it is to know where to start when organising care and support for the first time. In addition, we turn away over 94% of those who apply to us as they simply don't meet our standards. I'm so glad that your mum is receiving the standard of care she deserves. With kind regards.

Bluebird has a strong market brand and my own involvement with Bluebird has strengthened my view that this is a first-class care agency. Bluebird have only been providing care services for my Mum for a little under a month but already I know I have made the right decision to use Bluebird. First and
foremost, my Mum’s 2 careers, have been excellent, providing exactly the requested service in a cheerful and effective way. It is a source of comfort knowing that either one of the carers is fixing my Mum each day. In all my dealings with the wider Bluebird team, they have proven to be responsive and flexible in meeting my Mum’s needs.

All the carers sent by Bluebird were really fantastic in very difficult circumstances. One, in particular, was with my brother, who has suffered a horrendous stroke, for over 2 years and enhanced his life no end. All have been very caring and professional - the carers, as well as the management and
I, would highly recommend anybody to use this wonderful agency.

Bluebird have had full-time carers looking after my brother, who has had a stroke, for the past four years and I cannot fault them. All the carers have been exceptional, sometimes under very difficult circumstances. The staff at Bluebird always kept me informed of who was looking after my brother and
any other information they thought I should be aware of. As a caring agency, I cannot recommend them highly enough and if ever I needed a carer, I would certainly go to Bluebird.

I was offered 12 hours of respite care for my elderly mother (96) who I am a carer for. Her needs had recently increased a great deal and I was getting overwhelmed with trying to see to her, my own family, my work in child protection and suffering from an illness myself, compounded my situation. Bluebird
care were amazing. They heard my plea and took details about my needs and information about my mother. They matched my mother to a wonderful carer, who I met with my mother. My mother, who was suffering from high anxiety and many other conditions, took to her carer immediately and when I left, they were planning their next meeting. As a result, I had time to catch up with many things and begin to re-charge my batteries, which were very low. I will be applying for more care for my mother, as the service is excellent and professional. The interactions I had were very considerate and done with good humour and warmth. I recommend Bluebird highly.

Initially, my mum needed someone to supervise her daily activities and ensure that she prepared and ate her meals. The carer would also escort mum when she went out whether it be to the shops or just for a walk. Unfortunately, in May 2020 mum had a minor stroke which left the right side of her body
weak and she now has limited movement.
Once Bluebird was informed, there was a smooth transition between companionship and personal care which includes assisting mum to have a bath with the assistance of an electrically-powered bath chair which mum enjoys immensely. Mum still manages to get out albeit in a wheelchair as opposed to walking and this is only made possible by the carer who is more than happy to do whatever mum wants to do.
I feel I can go to work knowing that mum is in 'good hands' and the fact that she is happy and content when I return is a testament to the care she receives.

I’m sure like most people I had no experience of ‘home care’ until my dad George, whom I adored, became seriously ill. I’d always believed him to be invincible and it was a complete shock to me to find out he was a mere mortal like the rest of us… and so began a very emotional journey with some good and not so good care along the way and sadly for our family, no happy ending.

I experienced for myself the huge impact care from a stranger has, not only on the person receiving the support but the wider family too. And so I decided to stand up and be counted and that’s where Bluebird Care Wandsworth was born in 2011. My background lent itself perfectly to the skills I needed to establish an organization that could make a positive difference to others who live in the same community as me.

Rated by CQC as 'Outstanding' for Leadership and widely regarded in Wandsworth as the Marks & Spencer of care, expanding our ‘care family’ in 2017 to cover our neighbouring Borough of Lambeth was a natural progression in our ongoing journey. It’s unbelievably rewarding to spend each day making someone else’s and to have a team working for me who share the same values and standards.

Our care is different. It goes far beyond companionship and ticking off tasks. We are determined to give our customers the very best care at home available - the sort of care I wanted for my dad. We spend an enormous amount of time and attention in selecting the right people to join our team. Those who make the grade are trained to standards that exceed those of any other home care company in the area. They receive continuous training and development to make sure they meet the most exacting standards and offer the most effective care. We help our customers face many health challenges including all kinds of dementia, stroke, brain injury, MND, MS and Parkinson's among a full range of neurological conditions.

We are part of the nationally renowned Bluebird Care, the country’s market leader and foremost provider of private care-at-home.

This means that whilst my team is local, with the all-important ‘local’ company feel and friendly personal service, we benefit from the support structure of a respected and award-winning national organization with systems in place to ensure unparalleled standards of care – something a smaller individual local business couldn’t hope to match.

Job Title: Registered Care Manager

Like many people, I switched my career to Health & Social Care after a member of my family had a very poor experience. In this case, it was my grandparent who was in a care home. My initial career started in solar energy design back home in Yorkshire but now I couldn't imagine working in any other sector.

I moved to London with my partner and joined a small complex care company initially as a Field Care Supervisor and then Area Care Manager. By studying independently at the same time, I ultimately achieved my goal to become a Registered Care Manager.

I feel lucky to have supported the people we care for across all levels from delivering care myself to operational management. This has given me a huge insight and appreciation for the hard work our carers carry out on a daily basis, and the support our customers need to remain comfortable and safe in their own homes.

It’s a privilege to lead such a successful and dedicated team and to share in our fantastic reputation for care as it should be.

I’m still very much involved with our wonderful carers – many of whom have been with us for many years now– and I love seeing the journey they each take from the day they start working for us.

I am also the person who speaks to those enquiring about our service, a role I take incredibly seriously.

I was once that person not knowing where to start and needing help for my own mum and I know just how scary and confusing the whole process can be. I don’t want anyone to feel as overwhelmed as I did and so it’s a very personal thing for me that I give the very best advice I can.

It’s a privilege to do what I do.

My interest in care began at school where I studied Health and Social Care. After continuing on to college and completing my NVQs, I began working in a care home. It didn’t take long to realise that working with people in a care home wasn’t for me – they should be in their own homes.

My great-grandmother, unfortunately, had a bad experience with care, and this made me want to prove that not all care is of a poor standard. I began working as a carer for Bluebird Care and worked my way up. I certainly feel I am fulfilling my ambition. I am really proud of the work that we all do here and we are most certainly proving to people that high-quality care is out there.

I'm now Customer Services Manager. It’s hugely rewarding to make such a difference to others. I truly enjoy my work and am thankful to Bluebird Care for allowing me to do what I love.

I’ve wanted to help others for as long as I can remember.

When I was little, my grandad suffered a stroke. He lost mobility in his left hand and my siblings and I would visit him as often as we could, encouraging him to do the hand exercises his doctor had prescribed. Little by little he gradually regained his strength.

This was almost magical for me. As a young girl, I had already learned the lesson that caring for my grandad and believing in his abilities – when he hardly believed in them himself – really paid off! The desire to help others has been a lifelong passion ever since. I feel it’s my vocation and I’m proud of my ability to feel empathy and connect with people. My career with Bluebird Care is a dream come true for me and my enthusiasm remains as strong as ever.

I am proud to represent the company well and uphold its high values.
