Bluebird Care Wandsworth is a fantastic healthcare company!
The office staff through to the carers who have attended daily to my sick Mother are exceptional in providing a high standard of care. I find their level of service and care to be outstanding! The office staff are very caring and supportive
which transcends through to the carers. The carers who attend to my Mother daily are friendly and highly professional and have a great relationship with her.
Overall, we are very happy to have them as our care providers and would highly recommend them!

I was offered 12 hours of respite care for my elderly mother (96) who I am a carer for. Her needs had recently increased a great deal and I was getting overwhelmed with trying to see to her, my own family, my work in child protection and suffering from an illness myself, compounded my situation. Bluebird
care were amazing. They heard my plea and took details about my needs and information about my mother. They matched my mother to a wonderful carer, who I met with my mother. My mother, who was suffering from high anxiety and many other conditions, took to her carer immediately and when I left, they were planning their next meeting. As a result, I had time to catch up with many things and begin to re-charge my batteries, which were very low. I will be applying for more care for my mother, as the service is excellent and professional. The interactions I had were very considerate and done with good humour and warmth. I recommend Bluebird highly.

The Bluebird Care Wandsworth carers are friendly warm and personable .They are punctual and happy to help with whatever requests are made of them in order to assist with my mother.
There is continuity of the same carers so that my mother is able to feel familiarity and recognition when they arrive.
The links with the office and management are very good indeed.

Initially, my mum needed someone to supervise her daily activities and ensure that she prepared and ate her meals. The carer would also escort mum when she went out whether it be to the shops or just for a walk. Unfortunately, in May 2020 mum had a minor stroke which left the right side of her body
weak and she now has limited movement.
Once Bluebird was informed, there was a smooth transition between companionship and personal care which includes assisting mum to have a bath with the assistance of an electrically-powered bath chair which mum enjoys immensely. Mum still manages to get out albeit in a wheelchair as opposed to walking and this is only made possible by the carer who is more than happy to do whatever mum wants to do.
I feel I can go to work knowing that mum is in 'good hands' and the fact that she is happy and content when I return is a testament to the care she receives.

Bluebird Care Wandsworth provide a live-in carer for my elderly mother who has dementia. Mum's condition is deteriorating of course and we are working to keep her at home. Her carer is diligent, caring and creative. She works with me to find solutions to each new problem as it arises. Getting Mum out
of the house for her vaccine was a challenge and I was able to rely on our wonderful carer to figure out with me how to coax Mum up and out so that we could get her vaccinated. It was a triumph.
I have known the manager at Bluebird for over 5 years now since we first needed support as Mum came out of hospital. At each stage of our journey, she has found the right person for us and has helped us with managing relationships with health and other support services. The on-call staff know us as a family and are always calm and reassuring, ready to deal with whatever has befallen us.
I cannot praise the team highly enough.

The carers are punctual. We have used the same carers a couple of times and they were both punctual. The first time around they arrived much earlier as they said they try to anticipate any issues with traffic and or public transport. The carers were also experienced. They knew how to use the equipment
in place to help my disabled husband. It felt to me that they were well trained. It felt safe to leave my husband with the carer alone for a few hours, so I could get some respite. When I got back home I noticed that my husband was settled and calm. He had also been fed and the carer made sure he had been hydrated. As far as customer service and management are concerned, I feel that they really try their best to accommodate me when I ring to book a carer.

My carer has been supporting me for the last 6 months, I have found her to be excellent. Her empathy, understanding of my particular needs has been without a doubt first class. She is prompt, efficient and responds to anything I ask of her. I have respect and trust for her.

I think it would help to understand if I told you about myself, I have extreme mobility issues and have to be taken out in a wheelchair and at times in my home.
I am weeks away from being 82 years old have a lively brain and determined to get out and enjoy myself. My carer makes all this happen for me.

Bluebird Carers are kind, patient and understand the needs of those they are looking after. They adhere to the care plan wherever possible and are aware of the importance and responsibility of giving medication.
Throughout Covid, the carers have respected safety procedures to keep the virus at bay
in the client’s home.
The Bluebird Care management team quickly responded to Coronavirus by putting safety measures in place for their carers and issuing PPE for all visits.
If more care is required for either a short period or long term, this will be sorted out very efficiently.
Reply from Karina Corden, Owner at Bluebird Care Wandsworth, Putney & Battersea

Thank you for your very kind comments and also your observations regarding PPE during the pandemic. We are proud to tell you that the Care Quality Commission awarded us a score of 100% in our preparedness and ability to deliver care safely during the Covid 19 crisis.

We have used Bluebird Care Wandsworth for several years on a weekly basis and recently had to make some urgent changes to increase care to multiple times per day. We are extremely impressed with the way in which Dad has been treated throughout his time of using Bluebird. For the most part, changes have
been handled swiftly and efficiently. Being able to access the care notes in OpenPass has been a godsend when I've not been in a position to visit, to keep abreast of Dad's care. Bluebird clearly has an amazing vetting process because they seem to have a knack of selecting really excellent carers. I have been so impressed with the gentle, dignified and joyous way that they look after Dad, at a difficult time in his life and suddenly needing so much care. It is wonderful as a family member to know that he is being cared for so well. I would recommend Bluebird without reservation.

Caroline, thank you very much indeed for your kind review and yes, you would be surprised to learn that we turn away over 94% of those who apply to us for work as they are simply not up to our standards. We really treasure and take care of the 6% who are exceptional! I will ensure that your comments are passed to those concerned with your dad's care. With kindest regards

We have used Bluebird Care Wandsworth for a number of years for our mum. Originally in a companionship capacity but, since last May following a stroke, her needs have changed.
Bluebird ensured that the care was amended to reflect the change in Mum's needs.
Mum has had her current carer for 2 years
and she is very caring and makes my mum smile. It is a big help to us as a family to know that my mum is happy and well looked after whilst we are at work. Nothing is too much trouble for the carer.

Bluebird has been wonderful in looking after both our parents. They take care to create a care plan that takes into account all the needs of the client and, with us, has changed this regularly as the needs of our parents have become increasingly complex. In terms of the carers themselves, I couldn’t
rate them highly enough. Without exception, every carer has been compassionate, understanding, gentle and without judgement. We are so grateful.

I instructed Bluebird under very difficult circumstances for all involved. Not only was it in the middle of Covid and all the restrictions it entails, but my cousin had also recently lost his mother/primary carer to the virus. The support we experienced from the outset was exceptional. Bluebird went
out of their way to source the most appropriate carer for my cousin who is male and relatively young (aged 54) requiring 24/7 support. They found a male carer of a similar age. The gentleman in question has been an absolute star. He has ensured my cousin is getting all the services/equipment he is entitled to. The property has never looked as clean/managed (he's even sorted the garden). I am kept fully up to date/consulted where relevant. The most important thing is my cousin is safe and happy. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their exemplary service.

There were many logistical problems in trying to sort care for my Mum, but Bluebird were really understanding and flexible enabling what we needed to be put in place very quickly. As to our live-in carer, I can’t praise her highly enough, she went way beyond the call of duty caring for my Mum but in
supporting me as well. I will be eternally grateful for her help.

Bluebird has been very helpful in setting up daily care with less than 48 hours notice. The manager has listened to all our concerns and always reported back to me and the carers have been very sensitive to the situation which has been made increasingly difficult as none of the family can visit and
support the client due to the Covid pandemic. The client is much happier and feels more in control of her life and her family feel confident about her safety and well being. I would certainly recommend Bluebird to others.

The team at Bluebird were fantastic in supporting my 85-year-old mother, who suffered a broken femur and shoulder in April 2020, and my father (who has dementia). They worked closely with me and the hospital to ensure Mum's discharge was smooth and met with family members, including my dad, prior to
Mum leaving hospital to really understand our needs and preferences. The live-in Bluebird carer, who has been with Mum and Dad for several weeks, has been outstanding - providing excellent personal and practical care and support to both Mum and Dad with great kindness, compassion and diligence. Without her, Mum and Dad would not have been able to remain safely at home.

We have taken Mum out of London during this difficult time, sadly this means that she is missing her twice weekly carer who Mum has become very fond of her. Mum has been asking after her, she is missing London and her friends of which she counts her carer as one, she can't wait to get back to London
and pick up her old life. We aren't sure when that will be but wanted to thank Bluebird for all their help before this happened and for constant contact and updates during this time. I hope after this is over Mum can get back to her new normal, which will be made a lot easier because of the Bluebird team.

Job Title: Registered Care Manager/Director

Like many people, I switched my career to Health & Social Care after a member of my family had a very poor experience. In this case, it was my grandparent who was in a care home. My initial career started in solar energy design back home in Yorkshire, but now I couldn't imagine working in any other sector.

I moved to London with my partner and joined a small complex care company initially as a Field Care Supervisor and then Area Care Manager. By studying independently at the same time, I ultimately achieved my goal to become a Registered Care Manager.

I feel lucky to have supported the people we care for across all levels, from delivering care myself to operational management. This has given me a huge insight and appreciation for the hard work our carers carry out on a daily basis, and the support our customers need to remain comfortable and safe in their own homes.

It’s a privilege to lead such a successful and dedicated team and to share in our fantastic reputation for care as it should be.

Job Title: Business Manager/ Director

A mum with 2 young daughters, I initially joined the team as a part-time administrator, and then from there, I was head of recruitment. I’ve grown with this family company as my girls have grown up, and I am now a full-time Business Manager.

I’m still very much involved with our wonderful carers – many of whom have been with us for many years now– and I love seeing the journey they each take from the day they start working for us.

I am also the person who speaks to those enquiring about our service, a role I take incredibly seriously.

I was once that person, not knowing where to start and needing help for my own mum, and I know just how scary and confusing the whole process can be. I don’t want anyone to feel as overwhelmed as I did, and so it’s a very personal thing for me that I give the very best advice I can.

It’s a privilege to do what I do.

My interest in care began at school, where I studied Health and Social Care. After continuing on to college and completing my NVQs, I began working in a care home. It didn’t take long to realise that working with people in a care home wasn’t for me – they should be in their own homes.

My great-grandmother, unfortunately, had a bad experience with care, and this made me want to prove that not all care is of a poor standard. I began working as a carer for Bluebird Care and worked my way up.

I certainly feel I am fulfilling my ambition. I am really proud of the work that we all do here, and we are most certainly proving to people that high-quality care is out there.

I'm now Customer Services Manager. It’s hugely rewarding to make such a difference to others. I truly enjoy my work and am thankful to Bluebird Care for allowing me to do what I love.

I had worked in retail for some years when my son had an accident and needed my help, and that was when I realised I'd been in the wrong profession all along!

I have been with Bluebird Care for some years now and initially started as a Carer and then worked my way up. Making a difference in someone's life is just so rewarding and you get to meet the most interesting and wonderful characters. It's all about people which I love.

As Care Supervisor, I lead our Bluebird Care rapid response Home from Hospital discharge service, working with the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group). I go out and assess the needs of the person leaving the hospital and ensure everything is ready for them to come home and start their road to recovery with us. I love it!

This part of my work as a Care Supervisor is all about teamwork with my beautiful Bluebird Care family.

Organisation is always challenging but every day is different.

Just to know l can make someone happy by getting them back into their own environment and see them with a smile on their face means l have done my job well.
