During the last month, I have had 3 caregivers. That’s because Home Instead went to the trouble of finding the carer I was the most comfortable with. All their caregivers are different and matching one to a client to live in has proved tricky in my case. The current carer is kind and honest and will go to a lot of trouble to make me happy. The agency staff are all excellent paying me regular visits to ensure all is working well. If a visiting carer is going to be late a phone call from the office lets me know, and if the carer is delayed for a long time someone from the office comes out to take their place.

The visiting carers who tended to my late wife were all professional as well as being kind. I got to know 2 or 3 of them as friends and they continue to visit even after my wife’s death.

Thank you so much for this amazing review, it means the world to us. It is very encouraging to read that the hard work we do in matching our caregivers to clients is being recognised and appreciated. My In-Laws used Home Instead for daily visits for general household support for some months, but after my mother-in-law broke her hip, they provided emergency overnight care for my father-in-law who has Alzheimer's, and following on from this, live-in care to look after both of them once my mother-in-law came home from the hospital. This was a very challenging environment with two very different care needs for each of them. They dealt with the changing situation very quickly and in a professional and caring manner at all times.

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback and kind words. We do everything we can to ensure our care meets the needs of our clients as their needs grow or change, including providing live-in care if required. Thank you for recognising this and trusting us. It was a pleasure supporting you and the family.

The care provided by Home Instead transformed my dad's quality of life and considerably reduced the worry and stress on me and my family. This was particularly important, as my dad lived alone and many hundreds of miles from me. They put together a care plan matched to his initial needs and adapted it quickly as his needs changed. His carers were absolutely wonderful with him. So too were those in the office. I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead, without reservation. A wonderful group of people who really care about their clients.

My parents have used Home Instead for over a year.
The care was very easy to put in place.
The caregivers are wonderful. They provide written notes detailing their visits and these can be viewed by the family on the family app. This gives enormous peace of mind. They genuinely care about the client/s.
The care needs are reviewed regularly and any additions or changes can be made very easily.
Office staff are equally readily available to talk to about anything.

Never having used a service like this, I have been incredibly impressed and would highly recommend.

We only used Home Instead for a little while as our relative declined more rapidly than anticipated, however, the preparation for organising care at home was sensitively done by trying to match the personality of the caregivers to our relative's interests and the caregivers she had, had a good knowledge of dementia as well as caring and respectful of her. There appeared to be good communication between caregivers to ensure continuity of care. Specific call out to two individuals for their support.

Home Instead were engaged to care and support my mother-in-law. Initially, she was apprehensive about needing any help but Farnborough Home Instead went to great lengths to assure her that they would not ‘take over’ her house. There was a meeting set up for her to meet management and staff. This she appreciated and it allayed her fears. For the months they cared for her before she died, we as a family, were very grateful as we knew they would ring us if they were concerned about anything.

All in all, we would recommend Farnborough Home Instead. All the staff and management were professional, punctual, caring, flexible and understanding, and we thank them, yet again.

I have just completed my first year using Home Instead Services. I was very reluctantly introduced to these by my daughter who felt that as an ageing widower with health and memory problems I was in need of a carer. However, I must now concede that my initial reluctance was misplaced. I have received what I can only describe without exaggeration as outstandingly good service, support and yes friendship. This has been consistent throughout. I have no hesitation in rating the overall quality of service provided as being excellent.

Home Instead has provided my ageing mother with a caring, professional and reliable service for over 16 months now. In that time I can genuinely say there have been almost no causes for concern. Each carer is kind, patient and diligent in their duties, ensuring Mum is clean, fed and has taken the correct medication.

The service provided takes a huge weight off my mind knowing that Mum has guaranteed visits twice a day. If there are any concerns coming from those who visit, I can be confident that Home Instead management will quickly get in touch with me.

I have been using Home Instead to care for my Dad since September 2018. The deterioration of my Dad's health was a great concern to me as I live quite a way away and can usually only visit at weekends. My Dad was allocated a 'main' carer. All the carers who have visited my Dad have been great but his main carer has been outstanding. She has a special bond with Dad and he adores her. I feel totally at ease with her presence when with Dad and know she will treat him like her own. This lady has gone far over and above the course of duty to care for my Dad and I am so very grateful to her. Thank you, you know who you are!

I have full faith in the management and care staff. With dementia change is difficult - their ability to operate with a small and consistent team has enabled my father to maintain independent living. Their whole ethos is based around quality and to care for their clients/service users. My father, family and I have full trust in this team. Their achievement of an outstanding compliance score from the CQC is a further lens to their quality. Working within the healthcare sector myself means I am super critical. With this team I only applaud their service.

My mum was looked after by Home Instead for 3 years and I can honestly I would recommend Home Instead 100%. They always kept me informed if there was anything to report and always there to help mum and our family.

Her circumstances have now changed and again they were there to support mum and our family with right decision for her moving forwards.

Mum will miss the caregivers, however, she now has another chapter in her life to start and we cannot thank Home Instead enough for everything.

Thank you to all office staff and caregivers.

My elderly friend and neighbour used Home Instead initially to provide her with companionship, as she lived alone as was becoming increasingly isolated. The regular visits gave her valuable structure to her week. As her health deteriorated, she requested more frequent care and more assistance. It was very important to her that she remained in her home as long as possible and having home carers enabled her to fulfil this wish.

I could see that the carers' visits were spaced sensibly throughout the day and timings were regular. Even when she was eventually admitted to hospital, her carers were able to visit her there, again providing the comfort and support she very much needed. I liaised frequently with Home Instead during the week she was in hospital, in order to coordinate our visits and ensure she had the things she needed. I found all the staff warm and friendly and professional and very quick to respond.

Mahdi Kazemzadeh Job Title: Director Joined: 2017
Mahdi Kazemzadeh

Hi, I’m Mahdi, and I have been the Director of Care and Continuous Improvements Officer at the Home Instead Farnborough office since December 2017.

I have an Iranian heritage, and before joining Home Instead, I spent 10 years of my professional career working in the engineering and energy sector – quite a natural choice for somebody originally from that part of the world! Whilst it was a stimulating industry to work in, where there is a fast pace and travelling, I ultimately realised something was missing. I found myself looking to settle down in one place and do something more personally fulfilling, something that would involve giving back to the community.

There was also another reason that made me start thinking about change. During my time as an undergraduate student at the University of Cardiff, I lived with a couple who became like my second parents. They are now in their mid-seventies, and being still regularly in touch with them, I have witnessed how their health and physical strength are gradually deteriorating. That and the story of my wife’s (Natalia) grandmother ensured me that involvement in elderly care could just be that rewarding new path in my career that I had been looking for.

I am grateful to have a wonderful office team by my side, as well as exceptionally caring CAREgivers who are really passionate about helping and sensitive to the needs of our clients. It is heart-warming to hear from our clients and/or their families how happy they are and that, thanks to us, they can live independently in the safety of their own homes for longer. You really feel then that all the work is worthwhile! I also embrace the opportunity of meeting members of the local community in church groups, community centres, charities and so on to tell them about the great things we do.

In my free time, I enjoy spending most of my time with my wife, whether it is during outdoor walks, cooking together, watching a movie or travelling!
