The Carers provided by Home Instead have been of the highest quality, not only in the services provided, (personal care, housework, laundry, cooking meals etc) but also in their kind, considerate and respectful manners in which they carried out their duties. For four and a half years, they have given
me the chance to be a daughter, rather than a carer, for a pair of 90+ year olds who were able to stay in their own home for longer than we thought they would be able. So, thank you very much Home Instead for being there when I couldn't and becoming 'part of our family'. I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead, either for a few hours a week or as a full live-in service. Thank you again.

I have recently written to the Maidstone Home Instead Team to pass on my sincere thanks to all those who looked after my father in the last months of his life.

I believe that the care he received at home was excellent, with all carers showing compassion and patience whilst delivering the care he

required, enabling him to continue his independent life at home. He resisted having any help, but once the pattern of care was established, whenever I asked if he would like me to step down the hours or stop the visits he would say "well, let's get to the end of the month and see". It was clear he was very happy with the support.

Their care made a difficult time bearable for both my father and my sister and I. Keep up the good work, and know that all you do, makes such a difference.

I have been involved in the commissioning of social care for 19 years, I engaged home instead for my grandmother's care - the support and care was exceptional, the very best I have seen in nearly 2 decades. Extremely professional and caring - I cannot rate them highly enough. They are beyond outstanding
and a true credit to the industry.

Home Instead were recommended to me when my 88 year old Mother was struggling with increasing memory problems and timekeeping issues. She was also incredibly lonely. The care package was put together so quickly and efficiently and nothing was too much trouble. The care professionals who visited Mum
were so so kind and treated Mum with such care and compassion that I can't ever thank them enough. The whole team are outstanding and a special mention to one member of staff in particular who not only re-arranged appointments at short notice so many times but also supported me through a very difficult time. Sadly 24 hour residential care is now needed but I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead. A fantastic well run company.

Home Instead carers have provided company and personal care to my Mum so that I can have an afternoon off each week. They chat with her, or sit and amuse themselves while she snoozes - they always support Mum with whatever she wants to do. She can't get drinks for herself or use the smart TV functions,
so the carers do this, as well as helping her use the commode. Mum values having a regular carer rather than different people every week and Home Instead provides that consistency for her.

My mum's care pros throughout her few years with Home Instead were absolutely wonderful but the last few weeks of Mum's life everyone of the ladies that looked after her, showed her so much love, kindness and respect that went way over what we ever thought we would get. They truly helped her and us
as a family cope with what was happening, we will be forever grateful to everyone at Home Instead and we could never put into words how much they meant to mum and us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we recommend you highly and always will.

The overall care from management to the carers was exceptional. My mum was 89 and they cared for her in the last 12 months of her life as she was keen to stay at home as long as she could. Everyone who visited her offered varied support from shopping to helping with meals or just keeping her company.
It was a great comfort to me knowing she had someone seeing her every day and they supported me during the last few months which were stressful with her health. Always grateful for their human kindness.

My 94-year-old mother spent the final year of her life in a nursing home following a spell of respite care. I had been in touch with Home Instead when she was having respite and the companion service was recommended to me. The visits from the companion visitor made such a big difference to her in both
settling into the home and engaging with activities. Mum's memory was not so good and her companion knew just how to pitch the conversation so that chatting was both natural and brought back happy memories.
Living a long way away it was a great comfort to me that Mum had a regular visitor each week who brought her out of herself.

The carers who were provided by Home Instead were always efficient, kind, reliable and helpful to my 93-year-old mother. They visited her in her home and gave her assistance with cooking a meal, basic housework and preparing for bed.

We initially contacted Home Instead because we wanted a companion to spend one day a week with Dad doing the things he enjoyed which the family were not able to provide on a regular basis, specifically taking him out in the car and for walks in the countryside. Home Instead were able to provide a wonderful
lady for 2 years who provided that and much, much more. She got to know Dad very well and went above and beyond to ensure he was happy, had fun, enjoyed himself, and had nourishing drinks and meals. She took him out whatever the weather, finding places to walk about indoors with lots of time to chat and have a coffee if it was cold or wet. She was very reliable and cover was provided during her holidays by equally lovely ladies. She became a friend and great support to Dad's companion too. It was great that she wore her own clothes rather than a uniform which could have been stigmatising for Dad. We were very sad to end the service when Dad had to enter a care home permanently.

My Dad received support for only a few weeks from a wonderful team of carers based at Home Instead, Kenward House. He was treated with dignity and respect at all times. For him at 96, a proud, independent man, having to receive personal care at our home was a huge step but because the carers took
time to get to know him and respected his wishes, he made that transition for those brief last weeks of his life. Whilst we had all hoped that he would be able to remain at home till the end, it became clear that his frailty and condition needed round the clock care and he was transferred to a Hospice for his last few days. I will never forget the kindness shown to my Dad, and equally to me and my family, at such a difficult time. I can wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead for the care of your loved one, no matter how long. They are wonderful.

Mum was cared for by the Home Instead (Maidstone) team for two and a half years starting during the pandemic. It was explained to us from the outset that they would listen to what Mum wanted and work with her to achieve this. They helped with the everyday tasks but more than that they showed such kindness
and also shared much laughter with her. If the Care Professionals had a concern they would report directly to the office. Who would both advise the best course of action and also inform the family so we could also support. In the latter days her personal needs increased, which caused her much embarrassment but she was treated with such dignity that she was able to accept the help she needed. We are so grateful for the care provided to her and know that Mum really enjoyed the visits and getting to know the various ladies. Because of each and every one of the Home Instead (Maidstone) team we, as a family, were able to respect Mum's wishes to remain in her home until so close to the end of her life. For this, we are eternally grateful.

My aunt received support from Home Instead (Maidstone) caregivers for nearly a year. Initially, this was just for one hour a day, but as her health further declined, a total of four and a half hours of care per day.
Everything about the care received was outstanding. My aunt was treated with dignity,
gentleness and respect.
It was made clear from the beginning that decisions about her care were for her to make rather than to be imposed on her by others.
Although her incontinence episodes were of increasing concern she was never made to feel a nuisance or bad about it. When at times rather overdemanding, caregivers responded with wisdom and tact. Caregivers often went the extra mile to show support and care for my aunt.
The overall management of Home Instead Maidstone is excellent. Senior staff often undertake impromtu visits to see how the care is going. Communication with next of kin was excellent and provided valuable insights for us.
Thoroughly recommended, you won't do better.

Home Instead has been brilliant during the time they have been visiting my dad. All the staff are totally invested in the care of their clients, whether they are the carers themselves or the staff in the office. Home Instead provides a very reliable service and keeps me informed of any problems or changes.
I feel able to discuss any issues arising with Dad's care without any fear of awkwardness and they are very understanding and do their utmost to make adjustments to Dad's care as needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing their services, they really are top class!

I have used Home Instead for nearly four years in order to help me to care for my wife who sadly now has severe Alzheimer’s disease.
In the early stages, the carers visits were to sit with my wife or take her out on short visits to the local garden centre for coffee and a cake which enabled me to have
time to devote to myself.
Sadly Wendy’s understanding and ability to talk gradually declined and we then used Home Instead to give her a shower and get her in her pyjamas about 5 pm which enabled me to start preparing the dinner without any concerns for my wife's wellbeing.
I must say that all the Home Instead carers have been very capable and very professional which has not always been the case with other agencies that we have used and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them as a first-class multi-talented caring organisation.

We could not have managed without the help of Home Instead when my husband returned home three months after being admitted to hospital with encephalitis, which left him with cognitive and mobility problems. Carers came in each morning to help him wash and dress; without exception they were excellent:
kind, compassionate, supportive, efficient. In fact, those words sum up our experience of Home Instead, and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone in need of short or long-term care in their own home.

For more than two years Home Instead have provided personal care for my wife several times a week. All the carers visiting our home are friendly and competent. During the Covid pandemic, they have followed strict hygiene routines and always exude confidence that they know exactly what they have to do
to look after the needs of my wife who has early-onset Alzheimer's and cannot manage personal hygiene without their help. Because Home Instead have been providing care using the same carers for much of the past two years I have formed extremely useful relationships whereby I can discuss my care plans and ideas with them and this helps me to deal with the gradual progression of my wife's illness. I would describe this benefit as invaluable given the circumstances I find myself in. One final point. The carers are always on time and prepare detailed notes on each visit before leaving.

We could not have asked for a better caregiving company for our mum. From the initial phone call and meeting, it was such a personal experience, and we knew she would be in safe hands. Every one of her carers was lovely and kind. From times of chatting, light housework, meal prepped and cooked- they
really cared. When Mum went to a hospice and then a nursing home, Home Instead were so supportive and genuinely wanted the best for our mum. We cannot recommend them enough.
