Words, cannot express how grateful we are that Natalie was chosen to look after our mother. From my mother not wanting to have any support at the outset - she bonded with Natalie from Day 1. Highly recommend to anyone who may need this type of suppprt

Caremark come into my dad, 86 years old, 5 times a day to shower in the morning and toilet rest of the day. The carers are all great and respectful to my dad even the twilight. As he will/should be sleeping, they are great to try to not waken him when he needs changing. I also have 4 visits a week, these two carers are fantastic with my dad and often the past three years have stayed the same two as with dementia this is great for my dad. I wouldn't change Caremark as I am very happy with the company and staff I have are a great support.

Reply from Richard Magrath, Operations Director at Caremark NI

Staff are very welcoming to all who come to the memory cafe. The activities are well throughout for all attending. An extra activity depending on thoughts and insurance would be a lot of exercises that could be done from the chairs. We both enjoy the experience of the memory cafe and the little craft work can be taken home. I would recommend them to all.

Reply from Richard Magrath, Operations Director at Caremark NI

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are so glad that you enjoy our memory cafe and we will certainly look at introducing some exercises to our sessions which would be great fun indeed!

I recently underwent a long neurosurgical operation, which was lengthy, painful, and left me needing a neck brace for five months. I could not have got through it but for the care given to me by my wonderful carers and especially one staff member in particular who went the extra mile and ensured she had a way to get my hair washed and styled, lifting me up and encouraging me all the way. The girls know how I appreciate them, but I just want to thank you specifically for being you, a blessing in my life, thank you Caremark for the last five and a half years.

Caremark provided care for our elderly mother for two years. Initially, the single-call care was person-centred, professional and compassionate. It was always of a high standard. In the later stage of decline, this excellent service continued with doubles. Mum looked forward to their visits. The carers always fit around other services such as nurses from another home care provider. Mum remained in her own home until she passed. This would not have been possible without Caremark's support, the staff and management. For this, we are most appreciative.

My husband has only recently agreed to have carers come in to help him due to living with Alzheimer's. I was very nervous in the beginning, unsure of how he would react. He absolutely loves their visits now and looks forward to a wee bit of craic with all of them! He is cared for so well, and we couldn't have wished for any better. Thank you all so very much.

Overall Experience

My mother had dementia and a range of physical health problems and was cared for at home by my dad with Caremark carers coming into the house four times per day. Despite staff shortages and pressure, the staff were delightful and both my parents loved to see them. Staff were cheerful, courteous, very respectful and communicated well with us when there were any problems or worries about either parent. It was a great reassurance to me and my siblings that there were so many visits in the day, someone was checking in regularly and all the staff were always up for a quick chat with my dad which he enjoyed a lot. We couldn’t recommend this service highly enough and are very grateful for their support.

My mother had been suffering from a variety of issues and deteriorated to the point of requiring help. Help started with morning and evening calls. From early January 2021 my mother's health went downhill fast. The care package increased to double care 4 times daily. Prompt, efficient excellent service. For the last 6 weeks of her life Mum was completely bedbound, I watched as the care teams cared for, bathed, changed and engaged with my mother. A first-class team.

Mum had a care package put in following a stay in hospital. We had numerous problems with Caremark. The staff didn't stay the allocated time (30 mins). The majority of the calls fell extremely short of the time. Most calls were only 8-10 mins even though they were paid the 30 mins! This was brought to their attention on many occasions and wasn't rectified. Mum was reported missing but was in her bed and medication was failed to be given. The girls weren't given travel time to get from one service user to the next. The staff that came in were very nice.

We always encourage a true reflection of our service. Points to clarify:

Time falling short - Trust clients are measured for care by the trust as per tasks required. Your mother did not require the allocated time for tasks, Caremark followed trust contractual procedures which is to report this to...
