Sherwood Prime cared for my mother at home throughout her battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
She was always treated with such dignity, and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Whilst the staff primarily cared for mum, they always took the time to see how we as a family were doing too, which meant a lot.
With the nature of MND, mum's needs were not only complex, but regularly changing. New equipment was introduced at various points through mum's treatment and Sherwood Prime made sure that everyone that came to see mum had been properly trained on the new equipment, often at relatively short notice.
Overall, the care provided to mum was excellent. Mum's wishes were always at the forefront when it came to the care delivered and as a family we were completely at ease with all of the staff coming into mum's home.
Management were always a pleasure to deal with and did whatever they could to accommodate mum's needs.

I cannot fault Sherwood Prime, they were excellent.

We cannot speak highly enough of Sherwood Prime or thank them enough for everything that they did for mum & for our whole family. This is the second time we have needed their services after our dad had a severe stroke. They cared for him at home for several years until he passed away in September 2020 so when mum became very unwell with MND in September 2024 & I could no longer care for her alone there was no one else mum or I wanted. Every single carer couldn't have done more for us. They became our extended family. The two ladies are exceptional managers - nothing was ever too much for them. Everyone at Sherwood Prime treated us with so much love, care & respect, without them we would have been lost. From mum's very first visit to her very last when the ladies washed & dressed her so beautifully before we had to let her go, the love, care & dignity shown in that room was second to none. I wholeheartedly can't recommend Sherwood enough. They are real life angels, our angels in green.

Our experience of Sherwood Prime care over the past 5 years has been very positive , everyone caring for my mother has been kind , supportive and highly professional. they have always gone above and beyond with their care.We truly felt she was in safe hands everyday , the friendly team was always greeted with a smile .
The communication has always been excellent right across the board , the care team , office team and the management team.They are all totally committed to giving the best care to everyone involved including the family.

We have been using Sherwood Prime Care since 2020 and throughout this time it has been a completely positive experience.
Initially, my dad resisted having carers but the management team, on their visit, put him at ease and reassured him all would be well and it has! We couldn't wish for a better team of dedicated people. Every day he looks forward to seeing his carers, who are a wonderful, helpful and friendly bunch of ladies. His comfort and wellbeing are always uppermost in their minds.
Nothing is too much trouble for both the office staff and carers. Any concerns are dealt with speedily and efficiently, at all times.

The company's commitment to quality care is to be applauded. I can't thank them enough!

My mum receives care from one carer at Sherwood Prime Care and we are so lucky to have found this lady. Nothing is too much trouble and she goes above and beyond to make my mum's time with her so special. This in turn gives my dad a total break, knowing Mum is in safe hands and being looked after and spoilt. The agency is always professional but very caring and they make sure the carer is available for her allocated hours. So lucky to have found such a caring company.

Overall Experience

We have used Sherwood since the other care agency who had looked after my father for four years closed down. My father is now in his late nineties and for about a year has needed a live-in carer. The Sherwood team come to give her a two hour lunch break every day and have now been coming for six months. The agency is very well organised. We have been impressed by the fact all the carers are very experienced. All have had lots of training. We like the fact that Dad's carers come from a small pool of half a dozen. This allows my father to build up a relationship with them. All the carers make a big fuss of him when they arrive and when they leave. He looks forward to their visits. My brother, sister and myself often cover when my father's live-in carer goes on leave. All demonstrate an awareness of safeguarding issues. They report to us any changes they notice in my father. We find it easy to speak to the manager if we have any concerns.

Excellent care given always by Sherwood. They provided a seamless service when a previous care provider went into liquidation, employed many of the previous staff and made sure my mother-in-law had the same staff visit her that she had had with the previous company. This helped immensely as my mother-in-law suffers from anxiety. Sherwood have been available in an emergency and short notice, also they have able to change and increase care calls to suit my mother-in-law's changing needs. They have never missed a visit and have always had very happy, friendly carers. Thank you for all you do.

My brother moved to Sherwood Prime Care last year. From our first meeting with the management team, they were professional and attuned to his needs. The transition went perfectly and he did not notice any change. He has MS with complex care needs, he is bedridden and has the use of one arm/hand only. His skin breaks down frequently and the carers are on top of it at each call. We have regular visits from community nurses and they work with the carers to ascertain what treatment plan should be followed. I have had comments from nurses saying that we have the best care team in town. To help slow further progression the Occupational Therapist trained the carers in passive limb movement. He's often a reluctant participant but they complete exercises with him daily and try to make it fun. Most people undervalue carers, thinking it's a job anyone can do. They clearly haven't experienced needing care for their loved ones. Sherwood's care team are the cream of the crop and we can't praise them highly enough.

My mum has dementia and we engaged Sherwood Prime Care to look after her whilst we tried to let her lead an independent life in her own home for as long as possible, because we knew it was only a matter of time before she would need round the clock care in a residential home. We initially started with a two hour socialising visit each day, but soon had to increase the visits to ensure Mum was taking her medication twice a day as well. Nothing was too much trouble for Sherwood Prime Care to accommodate my mum's needs. We met many of her carers and found them all, without exception, very professional and from our point of view very reassuring to us about the changes in behaviour of my mum, because of course they had seen it all before. We can't praise them enough and my brother and I were extremely pleased with the service provided.

From starting with Sherwood for my husband, they have been marvelous, kind and very caring. Didn't want them, but a couple of days and he was okay and looks forward to them coming now. Always on time and treat my husband with the greatest of care, without treating him disrespectfully. We are so pleased we picked Sherwood.

The care my mum has received from Sherwood Prime has been outstanding, from coming into the house until the time they leave, they make Mum feel very special. Personal care is done with care and dignity for my mum. All the staff are very friendly and always make sure Mum is cared for like they would their own family.

Overall Experience

My mum has been a service user with Sherwood Prime Care since before Covid. At first, this was for showering help. In the last year or two, Mum has gradually increased her hours. At 91, she wants to remain in her own home as long as she is able, and her wonderful carers help her to do that. The individual carers are all pleasant, helpful and capable - with some great characters among them. The management of Sherwood Prime Care is personal and responsive to finding solutions to challenging situations. Our family is happy with Sherwood and does not hesitate to recommend them.

The service provided to Dad is invaluable. He has been lucky to have a few of the same carers since the beginning and has built up these relationships. Overall Experience

This review is not only for March this year but for all the time that Sherwood Prime Care have looked after my mum. The carers and management have helped with the care of my mum to an excellent standard, ensuring my mum is safe and comfortable and all her care needs are met. Not only do they support my mum but met too, and they (especially the manager) have helped me through some difficult times. I cannot praise them enough.
