Home Instead has cared for Mum for over 2 years in a morning and evening visit. It was our first experience of recruiting an agency and we were anxious to get it right. We wanted regular, female carers: We got them. We wanted to be kept well informed: not only does the app give us a detailed report about each visit but we also got calls from the carers if there were immediate concerns about Mum. We were very hands on with requests and instructions and all carers responded really well to this. All carers have been empathetic, friendly and thoughtful. The only negative is Home Instead charges are quite steep which is why we have to switch but we would stay with them if we could.
Thank you for your positive comments about our service. We pride ourselves on providing the highest possible standards of care for our clients, our aim is, to always tailor the support package in accordance with our clients wishes. Unfortunately, this does mean our charges are higher than some...
Very good attitude when caring for my wife. Very pleased so far. I'm sure I'll be happy to continue using this service.
We set high standards for our team of Care Professionals and so it's fantastic to hear such positive feedback so early in the relationship. We will strive to ensure that our service continues to meet your expectations.
The Home Instead team are excellent. They have cared for both my mum and dad and everyone who has come to the house has been extremely professional and caring. We also really appreciate the office team for their flexibility and their efforts to make arrangements for help at short notice. I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead.
Thank you for your positive comments about our service. We are delighted to hear that our service has more than met your expectations and provided both your parents with the flexible and caring support you required.
I was very pleased with the care provided to my elderly mum who had dementia. They were all very patient and respectful towards her and encouraged her in all activities. They took time to get to know her, and I know mum was always sad when the carers had to leave her for their next client. We would recommend Home Instead to other families.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is our aim to achieve supportive and respectful relationships with our clients which match the individual person's needs, so we are pleased to hear such positive comments about the standard of our service.
Home Instead visited twice a day and the care my Mum received from their bank of carers was professional and caring.
Later we added a 2 hour companion visit where the carer took Mum out to parks, cafes, shops etc. Mum really enjoyed these visits.
When Mum had problems her team of carers dealt with them and kept us informed
As a family we found the apps daily reports brilliant as we knew what sort of day Mum was having and when she needed our additional support.
Mum has now had to go to a Care Home but I know she was very grateful for the support Home Instead gave her and we as a family very much appreciated the support of Home Instead provided and would highly recommend them
Thank you for your review and we are very glad to hear that the care we provided for your mum not only met her needs but gave you reassurance during such a difficult time. Our service is always about more than meeting physical care needs so to hear that despite her fall and diagnosis of dementia...
My experience is very satisfactory. My care is efficient and very dependent.
I contacted Home Instead when my husband was at home with dementia, but was able to carry on a conversation, to request a carer to act as a companion twice a week. We were introduced to a personable gentleman, who was able to bring out my husband's love of communicating with others. As his dementia progressed, he went into a care home and the same carer was able to visit him there, until he went into hospital and finally received palliative care at home. We decided on 24 hour care and a dedicated team looked after him with loving care until he died. I cannot recommend Home Instead highly enough. The carers are professional, highly trained and motivated by their wish to help others.
Thank you for your kind words. We are so pleased to have been able to support you and your husband in the early stages of his dementia and through those very difficult last months.
Home Instead has supported my son for the past 3 years and have proved to be the best care agency ever to support my son.
Home Instead is very reliable. They are good timekeepers. They are punctual. They care about my son and always strive to give him the support he needs with a smile and always considering his safety.
Home Instead is easy to contact, there is always a friendly voice to quickly answer the phone and they are always extremely polite, helpful and compassionate. Just what a carer needs, especially in the distressing times.
For my son, Home Instead has been excellent in providing an appropriate support worker, something other providers just couldn't manage, so for this I am very grateful.
Both my son and I, definitely made the right choice with Home Instead, so thank you to all the team in Calderdale.
Thank you for your kind words. Home Instead always strives to provide compassionate care to the highest level and we are delighted to hear your experience has matched up to our standards. Thank you.
Home instead have cared for both my father & mother over the last few years & now provide care for my mother alone. They have treated my parents with dignity & the care has been of high quality. Home instead are friendly & communicate well. It is easy to contact the team & they do their best to accommodate requests. The team help to solve any problems & redress any concerns or worries which may occur. They are professional & I'm confident that should there be anything I need to know about the situation with the care of my mother or her home environment I will be informed. I am very happy with the care that is provided from the team for my mother.
The care team at Home Instead have all been really thoughtful, professional and kind. Not just in how they undertake the tasks they carry out on each visit, but in taking time to sit and listen and chat to my Aunt.
I have nothing but praise for them and would recommend them without hesitation.
In July 2024 my mother finally had to give up her own home and go into permanent care at the age of 97, but for just over two years prior to that Home Instead looked after her at home. At first she had one or two calls a day, but then needed increasing levels of care as time went on and her physical and mental abilities declined. All those who cared for her at her own home were kind, caring and thoughtful, keeping her safe and well through some difficult times. Some of them were exceptional and went beyond the call of duty. We shall remain thankful to them for everything they achieved.
The carers take Dad to appointments, which he loves, as well as out for lunch. The Home Instead monthly event is also something dad really enjoys (especially when he wins a prize!).
The office team are super helpful and arrange Dad's visits around his commitments.
I'm very glad I found Home Instead, they do what it says in their name!
Cannot fault the care and the way it has been organised and some difficult situations dealt with. Professional, kind and caring. Most of all the management and the staff have been so flexible and worked with the family to ensure the right care and the right carers for the person being cared for.
We want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful carers and professional management team who looked after our dad. Dad had late onset Alzheimer's but we knew he was desperate to stay in his own home. Home Instead - who had looked after my mum up to her passing - were our first choice for help. Nothing was too much trouble. The manager came to the house to meet Dad and the immediate family and we discussed what Dad's likes and dislikes were. They took great interest in finding out about Dad’s life, his jobs, travel, different homes and most importantly to us they were kind, respectful and caring. We agreed on a small number of carers to cover the 14 visits a week that we had booked - a visit in the morning and one at teatime. The care he received was first class - his main carer was brilliant at encouraging Dad to maintain a good personal care routine and change his clothes regularly. The carers were patient, and professional and took a genuine interest in chatting with Dad. He has passed now.
I cannot thank Home Instead Calderdale enough for their tender and professional care they afforded to our dear family friend who recently passed on at a very advanced age. Over a period of several years, Home Instead looked after her every day and gave her the reassurance of continuity, dependability and trust. All the accolades you could apply to their attentive service we would have no hesitation in affirming to be true. You could always speak to a carer in attendance and get updates on her well-being. When members of our family visited we saw first-hand how well she was cared for and how neat and tidy her house was kept. You get the exact service described in their promotional literature and I would recommend them to anyone in need. Thank you for all that you and your team, past and present, did for our old family friend. You all went over and above.
I have always been more than happy with the care my mum is getting.
The girls that she sees are extremely good with her and, in turn, give me more freedom.
If I need to ring the office for anything, the staff are all very friendly and take on board our needs.
Everything is actioned as our request and I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead, Elland to anyone.
Thank you for your care.
Trying to navigate the care system is a bit of a minefield but I’ve had nothing but support from everyone so far. Also, the way the carers look after my dad is wonderful.
He’s had one going in every morning since last November and she’s fantastic - so attentive and caring. Another has recently started to carry out a second visit on an evening and although I’ve not met him personally yet, Dad says he’s lovely too. It’s great he has the continuity of seeing the same people everyday and they care for Dad as an individual.
It was a bit of a struggle getting him to accept any help to begin with, as he doesn’t like change but I know he feels comfortable with the care he receives and I have nothing but positive things to say about everyone I’ve dealt with so far. Thanks for making a difficult situation easier!
My wife and I do not live near enough to her mother to be able to go there on a daily basis and we rely on the carers' visits to give not just the detailed care she needs but also the daily assurance that she is well. They have been doing this very well for quite some time now and have won her trust and served her well. We ourselves are greatly reassured by what they do.
We have used Home Instead to look after my Dad who has Alzheimer’s. He has now gone into a home, but between March 2023 and June 2023, we used Home Instead to give Mum a break from her caring duties. Home Instead were amazing. The carer came 3 times a week and Dad's not been easy but the carers dealt with him like a pro! All the staff were so helpful and honest and we as a family would definitely recommend Home Instead care. You need to give a month's notice to finish the service, and that’s not always possible if they need to go into a home quickly, that’s the only negative and do understand, but care is so very expensive.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm delighted to hear that we were able to support you as a family during this short, but challenging period. We do pride ourselves on the professionalism and skills of our carers and aim to match them with clients, based on their personalities as well as care needs....
Home Instead cared for my father over a fifteen month period, providing reliable and professional care tailored to his needs at all times. Compassionate carers who go the extra mile to provide care to someone at the end of their life. Supporting their family in ensuring that he remained in his own home, as he wished and providing empathetic care and support to the family during a difficult time.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm pleased we were able to uphold your fathers wishes and enable him to remain at home during during the latter stages of his life.

Meet the Team (3)
I’m Munaf Patel, the Director of Home Instead in Calderdale and the Spen Valley. I have worked in the social care sector for over 30 years. Over this period, I have undertaken a range of roles and gained a wealth of experience, both as a frontline practitioner and in various management roles in local authority settings as well as voluntary sector organisations. I am delighted to be part of Home Instead, and use my extensive care background, coupled with my strong care ethics and values to ensure we deliver a Rolls Royce service to all of our clients.
Outside of work, I am a family man, who has experience supporting my ageing mother, this has enabled me to better understand and appreciate the importance of matching the right Care Professional to each client, and ensuring our client's wishes are respected.
I’m realistic enough to recognise we won’t get it right all the time, but I am committed to ensuring we invite feedback and continue to learn and develop, as a team. For me, it is vital to have staff who share my values and embrace a learning culture.
Hi, I’m Anosha! I am Home Instead's Care Manager. I began my career as a Care Professional with Home Instead in 2017 and then moved into an office role as a Scheduling Coordinator in 2019, responsible for devising client rotas and then as a Care Coordinator in 2022.
Having experience in delivering care has helped me to appreciate both the challenges and rewards of delivering care to our clients. For me, the most important aspect of the role is to listen to our clients’ wishes and deliver care in a way which empowers and enables our clients to maintain their independence and dignity. Without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite part of my role is meeting our lovely clients and matching them with our Care Professionals.
Day to day, I work closely with the franchise director to oversee the delivery of our care services to our clients and ensure our Care Professionals are appropriately trained and supported to undertake their roles.
I am passionate about wanting to support people living independently in their own homes. I believe that it is important to understand the client’s needs, build a good relationship with them and devise a bespoke care plan to help them retain and even enhance their quality of life.
For me, the most important thing is to love the job you do.
I joined Home Instead in August 2020 as Calderdale’s first Marketing & Community Engagement Officer having previously worked in a marketing communications role in the early years sector, promoting and campaigning for higher standards in childcare.
My role involves raising awareness of the benefits of home care and engaging directly with older people in our community to communicate our values and the difference quality care from Home Instead can make to older people.
I engage directly with healthcare and social care professionals in Calderdale and deliver workshops to local groups on Scams, dementia awareness and planning for the Later Years. I have also helped community social groups and memory cafes to increase visitor numbers and older people to find new social opportunities after the pandemic through publishing a bi-annual What’s On Where Guide.
