Home Instead Calderdale & Spen Valley don’t do one-size-fits-all solutions. They tailor care to your family’s needs with a personalised plan that’s right for you, so you can live life better in your own home.

From 2 hours per week to 24-hour live-in care their service includes everything from simple housekeeping to companionship, personal care and live-in care. They believe all visits should not be rushed and all calls are minimum one hour to allow sufficient time to provide high quality, relationship-led care.

Their companionship service includes helping with hobbies, accompanying clients to appointments and social groups or on trips out as well as supporting with practical tasks.

They also provide more complex nursing-led care tailored to the needs of the individual, such as monitoring health conditions and specialise in dementia and Parkinson’s care providing consistent, familiar Care Professionals who build trusted relationships over time.

First class care. Both care givers and office staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Carers arrive on time and are always professional and very respectful of my wishes.

The care givers are lovely people. They always show respect to my parents and treat them with kindness. If there is a problem they will contact me or if it is a medical issue they will contact the surgery. The office staff are very efficient and have a good knowledge of my parents needs. If there is
a serious problem, then the office staff will also call me and discuss a way forward. My parents and I are very happy with the service they receive.

I've found the service to be good generally. Staff are always polite and professional and are happy to discuss any issues that need addressing. There have been occasions while communication could have been better but this has been taken on board. The carer allocated to my mum in law is very good and
has become a good friend as well as a carer.

Mum suffers with dementia, and the caregivers come and take mum out twice a week at this present time, mum enjoys going out. Home Instead have matched up the correct caregivers for my mum and I am looking to increase mum calls.

I think that they do a wonderful job of matching clients with caregivers, and this is not easy but they get it right every time. Home instead provided an excellent service for my grandma. They did everything possible to provide personal and professional care, tailored specifically to her needs, and ensured that family members were also happy with the service provided. Staff that my grandma felt comfortable and happy with were
specifically assigned to her care, resulting in a more personal and friendly service, and one that often resulted in a good natter and a catch up each day! A special thank you to her carer who went above and beyond the call of duty more than once throughout her care.

It's a marvellous company and I didn't know about them until my son and daughter in law found you. The caregiver I have is extremely excellent, totally competent, the office staff are always keeping me updated with my caregivers holidays, time keeping is impeccable. Overall fantastic company.

Munaf

Munaf Patel

Job Title: Director Joined: 2017

I’m Munaf Patel, the Director of Home Instead in Calderdale and the Spen Valley. I have worked in the social care sector for over 30 years. Over this period, I have undertaken a range of roles and gained a wealth of experience, both as a frontline practitioner and in various management roles in local authority settings as well as voluntary sector organisations. I am delighted to be part of Home Instead, and use my extensive care background, coupled with my strong care ethics and values to ensure we deliver a Rolls Royce service to all of our clients.


Having spent my entire working life supporting vulnerable people, I am passionate about providing quality care and am pleased part of an organisation which places the clients at the heart of everything we do. My goal is to ensure our staff get to know our clients and that we set consistently high standards in the care and companionship we provide.
Outside of work, I am a family man, who has experience supporting my ageing mother, this has enabled me to better understand and appreciate the importance of matching the right Care Professional to each client, and ensuring our client's wishes are respected.


I’m realistic enough to recognise we won’t get it right all the time, but I am committed to ensuring we invite feedback and continue to learn and develop, as a team. For me, it is vital to have staff who share my values and embrace a learning culture.

Hi, I’m Anosha! I am Home Instead's Care Manager. I began my career as a Care Professional with Home Instead in 2017 and then moved into an office role as a Scheduling Coordinator in 2019, responsible for devising client rotas and then as a Care Coordinator in 2022.


Having experience in delivering care has helped me to appreciate both the challenges and rewards of delivering care to our clients. For me, the most important aspect of the role is to listen to our clients’ wishes and deliver care in a way which empowers and enables our clients to maintain their independence and dignity. Without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite part of my role is meeting our lovely clients and matching them with our Care Professionals.


Day to day, I work closely with the franchise director to oversee the delivery of our care services to our clients and ensure our Care Professionals are appropriately trained and supported to undertake their roles.


I am passionate about wanting to support people living independently in their own homes. I believe that it is important to understand the client’s needs, build a good relationship with them and devise a bespoke care plan to help them retain and even enhance their quality of life.


For me, the most important thing is to love the job you do.

Job Title: Marketing & Community Engagement Officer Joined: 2020

I joined Home Instead in August 2020 as Calderdale’s first Marketing & Community Engagement Officer having previously worked in a marketing communications role in the early years sector, promoting and campaigning for higher standards in childcare.


My role involves raising awareness of the benefits of home care and engaging directly with older people in our community to communicate our values and the difference quality care from Home Instead can make to older people.


I engage directly with healthcare and social care professionals in Calderdale and deliver workshops to local groups on Scams, dementia awareness and planning for the Later Years. I have also helped community social groups and memory cafes to increase visitor numbers and older people to find new social opportunities after the pandemic through publishing a bi-annual What’s On Where Guide.
