Mum has sadly had to go into a home we just hope the carers are just as good as Home Instead.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure your feedback is forwarded to the care professionals who supported your mother. Your mother was such a joyous character and fingers crossed, the care she receives in the care home will be just as good as what Home Instead, Calderdale were able to provide.
We received excellent caring service for which we are most grateful. The carer was very kind and helpful and courteous to my dad and the administrative staff were efficient and extremely helpful and considerate.
Home Instead cared for my mother and then father over a three year period. They were very professional in identifying needs and devising a care plan. They were very reliable and never missed a call (my parents had four a day). When I needed to add calls they were accommodating. I would recommend them to anyone else who finds themselves needing help looking after their parents.
This is a really wonderful organisation. The carers are lovely, patient and professional. The admin team are super, responsive and friendly. I cannot praise them enough for the care they provided to our mum in her last months at home. They certainly afforded our family peace of mind at this time. I would highly recommend them to any family considering home care for a senior loved one. Thank you all again!
My parents really looked forward to visits from the carers at Home Instead Calderdale. Without fail everyone was caring, friendly, cheerful and very practical in dealing with my parents' care needs. They also always turned up on time, which was important when my Dad was at home on his own. On several occasions they went above and beyond to help with minor emergencies and always kept us informed about what was going on. Amazingly they also found time to sit and chat with my parents, which made the visits feel more social than formal care. These are great people and I would highly recommend them.
I'm really delighted to hear of your positive experience with our service. We do have an amazing bunch of Care Professionals who go above and beyond, and I will pass on your warm words.
The staff are incredibly kind and thorough, nothing is too much trouble. Office staff are always easy to contact and are very flexible in their approach to the care that is provided. I cannot recommend the company enough.
We used Home Instead for the first time in September 2022 and the experience was excellent in all respects. My wife and I look after my mother (95 years old) at home and we needed someone to cover for us while we went on holiday for two weeks. The care manager obviously thought very carefully about which carer would be a good fit for Mum before introducing her to us. We had an introductory visit at home and a follow up to cover any questions before we went away. It worked perfectly. Daily Scrabble games, some trips out to the local park, lunches and dinners prepared. They got on with each other very well. Everything was in perfect order when we got home and we had a good chat with the carer before she departed for a very well earned get together in her local pub. We would not hesitate to use Home Instead again and we can thoroughly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of service.
The Home Instead team were brilliant and everyone I spoke to was friendly and full of care for her.
When there were things I needed to know, they would always contact me to update me, without being over-intrusive.
They treated my aunt with total dignity and respect at all times, organising her social life, arranging a birthday party for her 90th birthday and many of them came to her funeral too, to pay their final respects, where it was clear the genuine love and affection they had for her.
Thank you to all the team!
Our care provider became a great friend to my husband during the last, very difficult months of his life. My only regret is that we didn't ask for help from Home Instead earlier.
Very good.
I am pleased to have the opportunity to thank Home Instead for the thoughtful care they provide for our mum. The team are flexible and understanding when responding to changes in needs and the carer who supports mum is excellent.
I can not fault Home Instead (Calderdale & Spen Valley), all the staff members were wonderful when looking after my father-in-law, they could not do enough for us. Even when we could see that 24/7 care was needed very quickly they did everything they could to fulfil our wishes. Most of all you allowed my father-in-law to keep his dignity at all times and grant him his wishes to be looked after at home until his passing. If anyone is struggling or can't make their mind up which way to go when looking for care for a loved one. I would not hesitate in asking Home Instead to look after a family member the care they gave was excellent in all areas needed, we can't thank them enough.
We have been very happy with Home Instead. The carers were lovely and looked after my mum very well. We really appreciate the efforts made to have the minimum number of staff on the care rota, and to have a primary carer, so that personal relationships and trust were formed. This really made a difference and it made it a very personal service. All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional and we felt that they genuinely cared. Thank you so much.
So delighted to recommend this service to others, as our family experience was first class. The carers understood fully the meaning of their job title and did everything to ensure that our mother had all the support, companionship and loving care that you would want for a loved one. This in turn gave us the peace of mind to accept that she was in very safe hands, giving us the opportunity to witness our eldest child become a doctor! We are so grateful to the carer that came to our rescue - boy, she even did the ironing! Thank you all so much. In a world that appears to be going to hell in a handcart...you are a shining light. Keep up the excellent work.
Home Instead (Calderdale & Spen Valley) have supported me for the past six years. Initially providing visits where the carers would assist me to run errands and help keep my home clean and organised. The carers are now assisting me with having a shower, helping to tidy the house and also take me out to appointments or to pick up medication. Throughout the six years, I have been delighted with the carers I have had and the way Home Instead (Calderdale & Spen Valley) have responded to my changing care needs. I simply cannot praise them enough. I have the same regular carers who know me and understand my routine, we have a great relationship and I would like to say a huge thank you to all the team at Home Instead (Calderdale & Spen Valley).
My mother required care at short notice and I found Home Instead (Calderdale & Spen Valley) to be incredibly professional and efficient at providing this care. They responded to the changes in the care requirements very quickly and without any fuss. From the start I felt that they treated my mother as a priority and were very focused on the quality of her care. The carers themselves were lovely people and in a short period of time became not just carers but friends. They took a genuine interest in my mum and would always spend extra time sitting and chatting with her once all her care needs had been met. The choice of carers couldn't have been better and I know mum felt genuinely valued. I would not hesitate in recommending Home Instead (Calderdale & Spen Valley) to friends and family and would be very happy to using them again in the future.
During lockdown, it became impossible to visit my very independent 90-year-old Mum as all her daughters live far away. Home Instead stepped in to help with all her requirements from shopping to cooking to companionship. At first, Mum was very reluctant but now she has befriended her carers and is happy that they arrive each day with their chat and happiness. There have been two areas where her carers have been exceptional. Taking her for her vaccine and, through the snow, supported her in attending her sister-in-law's funeral. The MD of Home Instead came out in his 4x4 to ensure that Mum got there even though the weather was awful. They have been so dependable, informative and very caring. Mum feels that they really care about her and they go out of their way to ensure she is comfortable and well looked after. If they have any worries they contact us to talk it through so, as her family, we always feel kept up to date and reassured. Thank you Home Instead - you have been amazing.
We are delighted to hear that both you and your mother are happy with our service. Despite the heavy snowfall, we were determined to get your mother to the funeral of her sister-in-law, as it meant so much to her and it meant a lot to us to fulfil her wishes. I'm immensely proud of our care...
After only 4-6 weeks we (and more importantly our mum) can report that the carer from Home Instead has changed our lives! A couple of minor administrative niggles fade to nothing because the care and support provided has been brilliant. The relief, Mum’s weight gain and improved general demeanour has been amazing. Our mum has company even during lockdown due to her care requirements (albeit 121 when she’d been used to larger gatherings) so is lucky but has still benefitted enormously. Anyone lonely, on their own, maybe a spouse or an adult child caring on their own or with limited support should definitely consider this option. Great value and allows the elderly person to maintain an element of control.
My mother was at home being looked after by the Home Instead team for 6 months before we needed to transfer her to a full-time care home. For every day of the 6 months the highest levels of care, support and protection for my mum never faltered.....it was simply excellent from start to finish.
Despite lockdowns and illness the very wonderful area manager kept the same core team around my mother. They never missed a single visit!
The brilliant app was my lifeline to knowing exactly how she was even though I couldn't visit her. As she deteriorated the team helped me to confront the painful next steps. Mum's very regular carer was brilliant at helping me prepare her for the next phase......she and the area manager were such a massive support throughout such a difficult time.
I'm so very, very grateful I found them.
My mothers care over the last 2/3 years with this company has been the best we, as a family, could ever have wished for. The full team at Home Instead have done everything possible to make her comfort and well being the best. I would definitely recommend them.

Meet the Team (3)
I’m Munaf Patel, the Director of Home Instead in Calderdale and the Spen Valley. I have worked in the social care sector for over 30 years. Over this period, I have undertaken a range of roles and gained a wealth of experience, both as a frontline practitioner and in various management roles in local authority settings as well as voluntary sector organisations. I am delighted to be part of Home Instead, and use my extensive care background, coupled with my strong care ethics and values to ensure we deliver a Rolls Royce service to all of our clients.
Outside of work, I am a family man, who has experience supporting my ageing mother, this has enabled me to better understand and appreciate the importance of matching the right Care Professional to each client, and ensuring our client's wishes are respected.
I’m realistic enough to recognise we won’t get it right all the time, but I am committed to ensuring we invite feedback and continue to learn and develop, as a team. For me, it is vital to have staff who share my values and embrace a learning culture.
Hi, I’m Anosha! I am Home Instead's Care Manager. I began my career as a Care Professional with Home Instead in 2017 and then moved into an office role as a Scheduling Coordinator in 2019, responsible for devising client rotas and then as a Care Coordinator in 2022.
Having experience in delivering care has helped me to appreciate both the challenges and rewards of delivering care to our clients. For me, the most important aspect of the role is to listen to our clients’ wishes and deliver care in a way which empowers and enables our clients to maintain their independence and dignity. Without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite part of my role is meeting our lovely clients and matching them with our Care Professionals.
Day to day, I work closely with the franchise director to oversee the delivery of our care services to our clients and ensure our Care Professionals are appropriately trained and supported to undertake their roles.
I am passionate about wanting to support people living independently in their own homes. I believe that it is important to understand the client’s needs, build a good relationship with them and devise a bespoke care plan to help them retain and even enhance their quality of life.
For me, the most important thing is to love the job you do.
I joined Home Instead in August 2020 as Calderdale’s first Marketing & Community Engagement Officer having previously worked in a marketing communications role in the early years sector, promoting and campaigning for higher standards in childcare.
My role involves raising awareness of the benefits of home care and engaging directly with older people in our community to communicate our values and the difference quality care from Home Instead can make to older people.
I engage directly with healthcare and social care professionals in Calderdale and deliver workshops to local groups on Scams, dementia awareness and planning for the Later Years. I have also helped community social groups and memory cafes to increase visitor numbers and older people to find new social opportunities after the pandemic through publishing a bi-annual What’s On Where Guide.
