Carer normally visit for one hour twice a week and have good experience and know my personal and safety needs and requirements at all times.
would be happy to recommend this company.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear you feel confident in the support you receive. Your kind words and recommendation mean a great deal to our team and we will continue working hard to provide reliable, person centred care.
There have been several serious safeguarding issues. The back door has been left unlocked overnight on more than one occasion. A carer returned to mum's after the visit was complete and mum was asleep, entering the property, not informing anyone and not switching on the lights. Mum woke to see a figure with a head torch in her room who hadn't announced herself. Mum was very frightened. Nobody informed us of the incident until mum let us know the next day. We have never received a satisfactory explanation for what happened. Mum's back door was left open overnight with the key safe open and the key in it. I wasn't informed by Home Instead and read it on a care app nearly 4 hours later. I phoned the office and was fobbed off. I wasn't informed of the outcome of any meeting until I asked, and they sent the carer who had put mum at risk back in that evening. I requested that the carer did not go in again. I had to move to another company. Very disappointing. It seems to be profit not people!
Thank you for taking the time to leave Home Instead Doncaster a review. Please be assured that each of the matters you raised was reviewed in line with our established complaints and safeguarding procedures. While we are unable to discuss individual cases publicly, we followed these procedures...
I can't praise the care staff enough, they have been wonderful with my dad. Always on time, very caring, kind and hard working and I know I can trust them to make sure he is OK which is such a relief. They have been a huge help to all of us, taking some of the burden of caring for my dad from my mum and putting my mind at ease knowing that someone is there to help. Both my mum and dad are really happy with them, they enjoy their company and appreciate their care and kindness. My contact with the office has always been excellent and very professional and they have responded very quickly to any queries or concerns. Very happy with the service provided.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that our Care Professionals have made such a positive difference for your dad and your family. It means a great deal to know you trust us and value the care we provide.
I am not totally happy that I never know what visit reports contain and which I never see e.g. are they facts or opinions and if the latter I would like to be able to discuss. On the whole I am satisfied with the service but would like my physical worsening to be recognised when writing up the summary of my modus operandi.Apart from the general service I receive I appreciate the company and general socialisation.
The carers who visited and cared for Mum and Dad were wonderful. Mum and Dad both thought so! They knew that no matter who came, they would be well cared for. Mum especially enjoyed having a chat and it definitely kept her going when she was both caring for Dad and living alone.
I was particularly impressed the way new Care Professionals were introduced to Mum and Dad. They shadowed a Care Professional who knew them well so they could be introduced, learn the routine and have the time to get to know everything before working solo.
The kindness, care and professionalism from all at Home Instead was outstanding!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're truly grateful for your kind words and so pleased to hear that Mum and Dad felt well cared for. Your feedback means a lot to our whole team!
The carers took the time to get to know her, and kept everything just how she liked it, attention to detail, no shortcuts, no rushing off to the next call. She always enjoyed their company. They helped with light housework too which was so important to her.
The care co-ordinators and office staff always provided a great standard of communication, regular phone contact to review progress and to make sure we were happy, emails always answered promptly. They were a great support when she started to deteriorate. As the carers knew her so well, they recognised when she wasn't herself and let us know.
We are so grateful to the whole team at Home Instead for supporting her and us.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're truly grateful for the opportunity to support your family and are pleased to hear that our team made a positive impact during such a challenging time.
The staff were kind and understanding, and my mother formed relationships with carers who soon became used to the way she liked things done.
They listened to her (and us) regarding the little things that mean so much, especially when things were becoming increasingly scary due to our mam's memory failing her.
Carers remained kind, patient, and understanding of her needs and kept us informed through the brilliant app.
Also via direct phone calls when needed with mam for her reassurance.
All in all, I can confirm that Home Instead made an upsetting/challenging time for us as a family easier to bear and we are grateful for the care and support we received.
Though 'special mentions' are not allowed suffice it to say you know who you are and we will always be grateful for your care and time.

Before Home instead Mother was a lonely lady, just waiting for visitors to call. Since Home Instead she now is happier, enjoying regular company and help with daily chores and outings to local coffee shops, meeting people. This is a complete happy change in her life.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are delighted to hear that your mother is happier and enjoying her time with us. It's wonderful to know that our visits have made a positive difference in her life. Your kind words mean a lot to our team.
I am kept fully informed of what has taken place during the visit including what medication has been administered, how much of her meal she has eaten and what mood mum was in via their app. These ladies do a brilliant job and it is very much appreciated as it gives me some time off without worrying about my mum.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear about your positive experience with our team. Our care pros strive to provide compassionate and reliable care, and it's heartening to know their efforts are appreciated. We are glad that our communication and app have been helpful to you. As a family (and lasting power of attorney) you want a care provider that is competent and skilled but has the value set and compassion to apply those skills in a user-centered way. We want consistency and people who can develop a relationship and are totally trustworthy. Home Instead meets our expectations with back-office support that communicates well and always ensures we are informed. The app is a useful tool to check on care sessions and helps us highlight any issues quickly.

They are always punctual and the carers have built a good rapport with both mum and dad.
The team always provide feedback to the family, whenever there are alterations in my parent's situation/circumstances.
Home Instead have been very responsive when requests for additional support have been requested by the family.
We feel confident with the solid care that is being provided, supporting my parents to live independently, at home together.

I cannot praise Home Instead highly enough. Carers visit twice a day on weekdays and, without exception, are kind, patient and willing to undertake any task required. They provide much-needed reassurance as well as social interaction which is so important. Things have been quite difficult for my mother recently due to changes in circumstances and the carers have been really sensitive to the impact on her and so reassuring. They have also (probably without knowing it) been a huge support to me, whether it's a quick chat while I'm there or suggestions that might help make life a bit easier for Mum. My communication with the office is always straightforward and I feel I can contact them if I have a problem or need anything. Thank you for what you do, it's made a huge difference to our family and is enabling Mum to stay in familiar surroundings at home.
We're delighted to hear that you're pleased with our services and that you trusted us to care for your mother. Your satisfaction is our top priority. If you ever need anything at all, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to support you in any way we can.
I contacted Home Instead after being let down by other providers. I needed a care company that would treat my dad as person and not a client. From the initial phone call to the first visit starting was about 3 weeks. A member of the office team came out and completed a consultation and chatted with Dad. The carers that come in are amazing, they are caring and compassionate and always go that extra mile for him.
The team were so helpful from start to finish for the short time they cared for my dad. Dad was always very independent so him becoming old and frail was not something I ever really prepared for. Then when things changed quickly, it hit me like a train. Day-to-day life changed for me and my family as we tried to juggle our own lives and his, so we reached out to Home Instead after a friend recommended them. Visits were put in place quickly. The staff member from the office visited us and guided us through the process. We soon felt relief as we got to know the fantastic team of carers who cared for Dad, as if he was their own family. We knew we could rely on them and trusted them completely. Dad initially wasn’t keen on the idea but soon began to enjoy their company and looked forward to their visits.
A friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and supportive team. Couldn’t have asked for a better level of care. They supported and cared for not only my dad but also myself. I was always asked how I was doing. They were supportive from the first phone call right through to the end.
Home Instead (Doncaster) provided care and companionship for Mum for three years. I would highly recommend Home Instead (Doncaster). The staff were always reliable in their appointed visits and if something needed to change sought agreement beforehand. The care professionals were very good with Mum and the client team accommodating and responsive to different and, sometimes often, changing needs. Communication with me was very good and personal. Home Instead were brilliant at dealing with Mum after a medical incident and did all the right things for her immediate care.
Thank you for your lovely review we will make sure the feedback gets to all involved.
The reliability and consistency of the service was excellent. The scheduled visits to Mum always took place and she enjoyed the companionship and outings.
From time to time, requests related to Mum arose at short notice and the staff always responded promptly and managed to accommodate these requests.
My sister and I were particularly grateful of the care and immediate help given to Mum, by the Home Instead staff, after she had a fall at home.
As my sister and I don't live close to Mum, it was a relief to have Home Instead involved in her care.
Thank you for your lovely review, we will make sue your feedback gets to all the team
Delighted with the care provided for my mum and dad over the last few years. Everyone involved gave quality care, and communication with the team was excellent. Home Instead enabled them to remain living at home as 'independently’, for as long as possible. Very grateful also for the peace of mind it gave me.
Thank you for allowing us to care for both mum and dad over the last few years, it has been a privilege and pleasure to support such a wonderful couple. They have certainly made an impact on all our team and will be sorely missed.
I can highly recommend Home Instead Doncaster for their caring at home service. Transferring from North Yorkshire a home visit was set up and we were reassured from day one that they were a company able to work with us and look after both my parents with differing needs. The office staff have been great keeping us informed of changes but the most praise must be for the individual caregivers who come into our home and treated my parents with dignity, compassion and friendliness. Mum and dad had a great relationship with the carers and they supported us whilst dad was in and out of hospital until he passed away last year. Mum had formed bonds with the carers who helped her through this sad time to see familiar faces was a blessing for which we will always be grateful. I have no hesitation in recommending the company if they need the support that I did.
Thank you very much for your kind words. It has been our privilege to provide support for both your Mum and Dad. We are delighted that we have been able to make such a positive impact in their lives.
It is nice to have someone come each day. I have three different carers; each one has a different way of working - all of them are bright and pleasant, doing jobs around the home as required and doing lots of jobs. Preparing vegetables for dinner, changing and making the bed, and dealing with washing. I intend to continue with Home Instead.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so glad we're able to make a difference to your day, every day.

Hi, I’m Alicia. I have recently joined Home Instead as a Care Professional Experience Lead. I have worked in the care industry for the last 4 years, and in that time, I have developed a wealth of knowledge in many different areas of the care industry.
I joined Home Instead in 2021 as a care companion, enjoying running our Sporting Memories Group and caring for clients. Previously, I worked with NHS Scotland for 15+ years, mainly in IT Project Management, but gained a good insight into the service and enjoyed implementing new technology to help both patients and NHS staff.
I enjoy meeting lots of people and helping to make a positive difference in their lives, even if it’s just making someone smile or laugh at one of my bad jokes.
My new role will extend my time into organising and running more client activities, such as Friendship Lunches and helping to raise funds for our Charity and spreading the good word for our services, as well as collaborating with other groups to contribute to helping our clients live their best lives.
In my spare time, I like watching and playing sports and seeing friends and family.
I started my career in care back in 2013 as a Care Professional, and since then, I’ve worked across a wide range of roles within the sector. That hands-on experience has shaped who I am today and fuelled my passion for making a real difference. When I joined Home Instead in 2021, it instantly felt like the right place for me, and I’ve never looked back. Stepping into the role of Group Operations Manager has been an exciting milestone. I now have the privilege of overseeing the operations across our five offices, driving forward our mission to deliver exceptional care.
I’m proud to share the same values and ambitions as Rob and Zoe: achieving an Outstanding CQC rating, increasing the world’s capacity to care, and championing care as a rewarding and respected career.
I’ll admit – I love to be at work!! But when I do switch off, you’ll usually find me out with my three pooches or discovering new foodie spots to enjoy.
As the Head of Marketing, I oversee the marketing and business development efforts for our four franchises: Doncaster, Wakefield, Rotherham & Retford and Gainsborough. Working with a dedicated team, I provide strategic direction to drive growth for each business.
