My father was discharged from hospital in November 24 and died in April 25. During this time my father received excellent care from carers. My father could be difficult at times but they always showed him compassion and care. As a nurse, I always expect a high standard of care and I wasn't disappointed with the care my father was given. My wife was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with dementia also affecting her mobility. The care with Springfield was in place within a week of coming home. The care staff have been excellent, considerate of my wife's needs, and bring a smile to her face. We could not manage without them. Springfield Healthcare have supported me for just over 6 months and I can't praise them enough for carers coming to my home but also in the office. They go above and beyond. A particular staff member's communication is outstanding - she responds to emails promptly and addresses concerns quickly, giving us great peace of mind. What truly sets them apart is their approach to caring for our mother, who has vascular dementia. The carers take time to engage with her in genuine conversation, treating her with dignity and creating a warm atmosphere.

Overall exceptional service - pleasant and good at their jobs. Turnover of staff has reduced, which is most welcome. The office are also helpful in dealing with queries.
Generally Springfield Healthcare offers a good service although it would benefit from more carers. Most problems arise when carers do not come into work for various reasons. It would help carers and those who do the rotas if more than three minutes travelling time between clients was offered by Darlington Borough Council. It works when carers are visiting clients living close in an urban situation but not when drivers have to get out to the villages from Darlington, especially when there is a lot of traffic in rush hours. Carers are glad that their rotas enable them to manage other responsibilities such as taking children to school. Students who are studying at university are employed when appropriate to give them practical experience which works very well.

As Operations Director for Home Care Services, I feel privileged to support others to live their lives to the fullest. I am very passionate about my role, and the work that my teams do every day. Being so involved in people’s lives and being able to make a genuine difference is so rewarding. Here at Springfield, it really is about the people we employ and support, it’s about family and the importance of looking after each other.
I have worked in Care since the age of 21, I have worked in various job roles which have given me great knowledge and experience.
I started to work for Springfield Health Care in the Newcastle branch in 2017, I worked as a Care Coordinator and then I became the North East Trainer.
During Covid 19 I came to Darlington Branch and loved the branch and its team. I was then offered the job of Service Manager which has enabled me to ensure we are providing a safe, well-led, and effective service for our customers and staff.
I feel very passionate about my job and Springfield Health Care.
My job means everything to me. Springfield is my second family and I love it.
My role as Operations Team Leader involves the day-to-day management of the Darlington branch at Springfield Healthcare.
I started my career as a carer before progressing to care coach, supervisor, coordinator and now Operations Team Leader. Covering all of these roles has given me insight and knowledge to ensure that I can provide the necessary support for my team, our carers and our service, to consistently deliver high-quality care.
My role involves engaging with carers and service users on a daily basis to ensure compliance is maintained throughout our service. Through my role, I get to maintain good working relationships with our carers and service users which has always meant a lot to me.
It is my responsibility to schedule, plan, supervise and monitor all visits from Springfield Healthcare Darlington. My role can be quite challenging to ensure smooth operations, but I find it very rewarding knowing that all our customers are receiving the support that they need.
My role involves scheduling, planning, supervising and monitoring the daily visits. I take pride in my role as I am ensuring our service users get the very best care they can and that they have the consistency they need.
My role involves completing initial assessments, risk assessments, direct observations, medication competency and communicating with families, social workers, GPs and any other individuals who may be directly involved with our service users. This is to ensure that they are receiving the best care they can.
