Providing end of life care in a family setting requires special kind of people. Each and every one of Home Instead staff skillfully negotiated the emotional and at times challenging situations with a level of professionalism, compassion and dignity, not always shown by other professionals. Having worked in the care sector for many years myself I did not expect others to provide a good enough standard for my loved one during the last days. I'm a young 67-year-old woman with a long-standing home infection in my right shoulder which is my dominant side. I decided to get some help after a stay in hospital yet again. I wanted to be able to feel like me but was unable to achieve this by myself, showering and washing my hair during it could and did leave me exhausted - having to lie down for a couple of hours let alone wanting to go out. The girls have been wonderful and we've only just met but I know when someone enjoys their job and the ways they can help someone. Take today, not a good one for me but a cheerful chat a blanket, bath, hairbrush and creams massaged in. What a difference. Yes, I'm still in bed in pain but I feel clean and even pampered, what's not to like. So thank you Home Instead, an excellent service.

We found them very good. The carers were excellent with my mother. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Mum was a pleasure to support, she really was.
All staff including office were friendly and helpful. The level of care provided was exceptional, and the caring staff went out of their way to find activities to do to keep my mother occupied and happy. It should be noted that my mother has advanced vascular dementia and that the caring team handled this well and with great patience.

When other carers came they too were excellent. Particularly liked how the service could be increased/changed according to client need. Manner of office staff on telephone was very helpful. Now moved to care home.

I just want to say a big Thank You to all the wonderful caregivers that visit my mum, she loves them all and seems happier now that she has her regular visits to look forward to, and I feel happier too knowing that someone is keeping an eye on her, they are a blessing. As I live 72-miles away, I feel that some of the pressure has been taken off of me, especially during these difficult times that we are all going through.

Early in June, my father was taken into hospital following a fall. Although he was not seriously injured, the advice from the medical team and geriatrician looking after him was that he needed a new, daily care package that included personal care in addition to the domestic care and companionship services that Home Instead was already providing. Understandably in the current climate, the hospital wanted my father to return home as soon as possible, and I was hugely impressed by the speed that the Home Instead team managed to get a new care plan and package in place at very short notice (about 5-working days) so that my father could return home. As this came at a very stressful time for me and my family, I am also very grateful to the team for the care and sympathy that they gave me as well during our many phone calls. There was always someone willing to listen and provide some calm, reassurance and advice. Thank you Home Instead Kidderminster!

Well, what can I say apart from what a different experience in comparison and all positive too!
Very thorough needs assessment prior to commencing care. The phone is always answered promptly and courteously when ringing the office.
Email receipt of the forthcoming weekly schedule of caregiver attendance including names and times.
Access to an online case management system in-order to review the care plan and caregiver notes following attendance, including future scheduled visits.
Caregivers are always on time, wear PPE, are attentive, caring and deliver against the care plan and my mom loves them all!
I have experienced professionalism all the way and I’m now confident that my mom’s care needs are in the right hands - thank you!

The carers are all wonderful. They always arrive on time. I am treated with dignity and kindness. They all chat to me and don't treat me as if I am gaga. You should be proud of all your staff.

Prior to the appointment of Home Instead, my caring service provider was a very small organisation which proved to be s3eomthing of a disappointment. Home Instead is a breath fo fresh air in taking over the job, and they have proved to be a very professional organisation. The carers are pleasant, easy to get along with individuals who do their job cheerfully and with skill. I would highly recommend them to any client looking for this sort of service.

All carers are lovely and had a lot of patience with my Mum before she went into a care home specializing in dementia. The ladies that I would speak to on the phone were really helpful and pointed me in the right direction when I was trying to organize anything by telephone from my home 200 miles away. They were able to organise care for my mother at very short notice when she was taken ill on one occasion. The receptionist lady was fabulous and would listen with empathy and kindness when I phoned feeling overwhelmed.

Being enrolled with Home Instead has given me a welcome change to my, hitherto, lonely life. The lady helpers are all pleasant people and have given me friendship and some social life. Their housework is quite satisfactory and I have made a point of making time for a social element in our relationship and thus given me an opportunity to talk on our families and associated subjects over cups of tea or coffee. The lady who took me to the hospital was most pleasant (and efficient). Altogether a welcome innovation to me.

I am a full-time carer to my wife and I am in need of an increasing level of support. I was introduced to Home Instead some 3 months ago via another care agency and have been delighted with the weekly visits that we receive. The personal assistant that visits may vary but to date, they have all been very professional and empathetic to my wife's needs. This also gives me 4 hours a week to myself which is essential in recharging my batteries. Allin all the engagement of Home Instead has been of major benefit to both my wife and myself.

I have used this service for two months but the quality of service provided varies enormously. The older carers are more thoughtful and dependable. We are hoping to change our carer who is young for a more mature person.

Sometimes a little later than booked but we were happy with this as the staff were always apologetic.
Staff always made time to sit with Mom and chat, giving the extra mile.
