Bluebird Care Torbay looked after my father for end of life care. All the carers were superb. Professional and very kind. They all took time to talk to Dad about his life and engaged him in his interests. He looked forward to their visits each day. I cannot praise them enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Thank you for your kind words regarding our service and lovely carers who looked after your father. We very much appreciate this.
My mum was a reluctant client at first, but as time went on she absolutely relied on your care. It brought much-needed peace of mind for me and I would recommend Bluebird for their professionalism.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for us at Bluebird Care. We very much enjoyed looking after your Mum and glad we gave you peace of mind as well.
We have only positive things to say about Bluebird Care Torbay. From our initial contact with management to the fantastic care the community team gave, we have been overwhelmingly impressed. Mum formed a lovely friendship with her carers, and looked forward to their visits. They showed her great kindness and made her laugh whilst delivering care in a professional manner. Thank you to all the team!

Bluebird Care Torbay (both managers and carers) consistently went the extra mile in caring for my mother over a period of three years. The continuity of carers was excellent and my mother really enjoyed their visits. The quality of care was also extremely good - both professional and empathetic. We would recommend Bluebird Care Torbay without hesitation. We really feel fortunate to have had them as Mum's carers.
Thank you for your kind words. It really means a lot to us all when people share their appreciation.
The care provided by Bluebird Care Torbay enabled me to spend a weekend with the family celebrating my 60th birthday. Care was provided from Friday evening to Sunday evening providing meals and companionship throughout the day and early evening. I was able to enjoy some respite knowing my mother-in-law was being cared for by familiar people who she is used to seeing. She has Alzheimer's and this was invaluable.
Thank you for your wonderful comments. I am so pleased that you were able to enjoy a well-deserved break and celebrate your birthday. We recognise how important it is to offer support to enable family and friends to have a break safe in the knowledge that their loved ones are being cared for.
Bluebird Care Torbay has been providing domiciliary care to my 96-year-old mother for five years. The care provided has been both professional and kind. Bluebird set a consistently high standard of reliable service. The team have always stepped up when situations required it. I have recommended Bluebird to others seeking high standards for their loved ones and will continue to do so.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We try hard to be as helpful and responsive as possible and provide the highest quality of care. We really appreciate you taking the time to complete this review. We will pass on your comments to our wonderful care workers.
I cannot thank the managers enough for their responsiveness, sensitivity and support with both my fathers physical and my mother's psycho-social support needs. They responded beyond the call of duty on many occasions including out of hours. The carers were reliable and efficient in the care they gave and several were especially skilled at building trust and rapport with my parents.
The very best service I could wish for my mum to receive. Our carers are a credit to the care professional, they didn't just provide excellent care for my mum but created a real connection with her and she really enjoyed their visits to her. Having read heard so many awful reviews online from various care providers I am so pleased we found Bluebird Care and cannot recommend them highly enough.
The care my sister-in-law received was excellent. When she was anxious and confused the staff took time to reassure and calm her down. The staff were always bright and smiling when they arrived, respected my sister-in-law's wishes and treated her with respect and kindness. We could not have wished for anything better.
I am very pleased with the overall standard of care provided by the care staff of Bluebird.
Bluebird proved to be more than we could have hoped for in caring for our Mother, as her day-to-day ability to cope with living deteriorated. She was treated with efficiency, respect and kindness. As her carer, the daily notes made my the 'Bluebirds' were particularly useful. The company worked well when help from the District Nurses was required. My brother and I were very sorry when it became apparent that 24-hour care was required. Bluebird made it possible for Mother to stay for a year or so longer in her own home. We would thoroughly recommend Bluebird to friends and family.
Bluebird Care to our rescue when my uncle was beginning to forget things, including personal hygiene. I can't thank them enough for caring for a somewhat difficult man who did not want to be cared for. His carers (two men especially) jollied him along and wouldn't be daunted. The management team were all helpful when needed as well and nothing was too much trouble.
Invoices were sent at regular intervals and were always correct for the care time given. I would have no hesitation in recommending this agency.
I found Bluebird Care completely reliable in their timekeeping, care and friendliness. My friend, who has senile dementia, got to know her two carers who divided up the week between themselves and came half an hour each morning to give her breakfast and medication. She became very fond of them both.

Meet the Team (13)
Alexander is a retired Infantry Officer of the British Army where he served tours in both Bosnia and Afghanistan.
Having left the army he completed a business degree and lived in London for a National Energy company. Alexander has spent a lot of his spare time fundraising and organising events to raise money and awareness for the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association: BLESMA.
Emma originally hails from Ireland but after deciding to do a Master’s degree in business and the environment in London she first fell in love with a Boy and soon after with Devon. After various management positions she was excited at the prospect of trying to effect real change in the care industry. She wanted to improve how the sector was viewed, how people within the industry were valued and since 2012 her and Alexander (said Boy) have been trying to do just this, along with raising their three children.
Emma is passionate about providing the highest level of service to each customer and firmly believes in the importance of local working.
In her spare time Emma likes to take her 1955 BSA Bantam D1 ‘Peggy’ out on the road to explore the countryside. She loves walks on the beach with their two dogs and occasionally braves a surf although will more often than not be seen in the white wash close to the shore.
I am very proud to be the operations manager of Bluebird Care Torbay, Plymouth and South Hams. I joined the team as Registered Manager in 2018, but in 2020 took over the role of Operations Manager. Since that time, I have supported the team to go from strength to strength. Both Plymouth Torbay and Live in services were rated Outstanding, which is the best accolade that we could receive as a marker of both our success and the quality of the support we provide to our customers.
I have over 30 years of experience working in the health and social care field, and I remain registered with the Healthcare Professional Council as a Social Worker. I have worked in social service departments and the NHS for a large part of my career.
Carol Joined our Bluebird Care team as a Locality Manager in 2018, having spent the previous ten years managing a multi-site operation delivering a service to the elderly across Devon. In Nov 2018, the Live-in Care Manager position became available and Carol was excited to step into this role and begin developing the service.
As the Live-in Care Manager, it is Carol’s responsibility to deliver support packages that enable her customers to live safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible. She communicates with her customers, family members and health professionals daily, she leads by providing support and guidance to a team of dedicated carers who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the people in our community.
In her spare time she enjoys taking long walks on the beach with her husband and dog Reggie and enjoying the company of her grandchildren and now great grandchildren.
Asia joined our team in 2018. Having worked as a waitress in a local hotel for many years, she was turkey and tinselled out and decided on a new career path. Asia started as a Care Assistant, then moved on to Field Supervisor. Asia then progressed to Care Manager and then Coordinator, but is now enjoying another change into Acting Manager. Since joining, Asia has taken the opportunity to continue her studies, and she now has NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care under her belt and is currently working towards her NVQ Level 5.
In Asia's spare time, you'll find her in any shop, looking for a bargain. On the occasion where she has been dragged away from the shops, she will either be walking the dog or dancing in the kitchen to songs that are far too old for her! Asia is also very partial to a bargain caravan holiday and enjoys the corny entertainment slightly too much.
Louise joined our Bluebird Care team in November 2018 after leaving her position as Discharge Co-Ordinator/Bed Manager with the National Health Service, where she worked for almost 20 years. Louise is also our Complex Care Champion and loves being afforded the privilege of becoming a valued part of families when they need the extra support.
As Locality Manager, Louise is responsible for customer support. She develops a tailor-made care package that they feel will provide them with the most effective, highest quality of care. Each day she communicates with customers, family members and other professionals, ensuring everyone involved in the care package is in the loop and happy.
Louise covers Brixham, Paignton and Totnes and enjoys the challenge of meeting lots of new people and developing her relationships with new and existing customers.
A local Brixham girl, Louise, grew up on the beach and still loves the sea, the sand, and everything to do with the water. She has a beach hut and spends every possible moment there, winter and summer.
"My life is spent trying to keep up and stay cool with my beautiful grandchildren, which usually means life-endangering adventures, holidays and food. I have two dogs, they seriously help me with the 10,000 steps a day, two cats that boss me around and a love of cooking and entertaining. If I am very lucky, I find the time to squeeze in the odd book or two!"
Sarah joined Bluebird Care in 2019 after being in her previous role for 17 years. Sarah wanted a career change and has always had a passion to help others. Sarah is passionate about making a difference to people’s lives.
Sarah is a total people person, always willing to help others where and when she can.
In my spare time, I love going out for meals and drinks with my friends and family. I also have two French bulldogs, Winnie and Hugo, whom I enjoy taking out for nice dog walks, especially down the beach. I live for holidays… There is nothing better than being by the sea with the sand between my toes, getting a tan, watching sunsets and drinking cocktails with family and friends!
Nina joined our Bluebird Care team initially in 2013 and has worked in the care industry ever since. After providing excellent care for our customers as a Care Assistant Nina decided she wanted to try something different. Kirstin joined our Bluebird Care team in August 2023 when she first relocated to the area. This is a new challenge for Kirstin and something that she is greatly looking forward to.
Before working for Bluebird Care, Kirstin worked with young adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex health needs. This role saw Kirstin learning many skills, such as a bespoke sign language to communicate with an individual she worked very closely with and teaching this same language to other members of the team. Before this, Kirstin worked in a Residential children’s home for vulnerable children, where she gained her level 2 mental health qualification.
Since moving to the Bay, Kirstin loves doing all things touristy. Outside of work, you will find Kirstin on long woodland dog walks or on the beach in the sea on a sunny summer's evening. If you're looking for Kirstin on a Saturday morning, she will be at any local car boot sale. Kirstin also enjoys spending time with her family in their caravan in lovely Challaborough.
