Home Instead (Retford and Gainsborough)

We have only been using Home Instead for about 3 months - but we are very pleased with the service. My mum and dad are very fond of the carers - 2 in particular, and the advise that myself and my brother have received from the office has been very supportive. There have been several problems with the medication and conversations with the pharmacy, and it has all been dealt with very efficiently by Home Instead. My brother and I are pleased we have chosen Home Instead to oversee the care and welfare of our parents, when we are not able to be there as often as we wish.

The service we have received has been excellent. We have used Home Instead for the last four years and not only have they looked after Mum with excellent care, they have also looked after me, as a family member, and been there for me when things have been challenging with Mum. Mum was very fond of many of the carers and never had a bad word to say about any of them. I was able to work with Home Instead at all times, to adapt the care package to meet Mum's needs over time, through friendly and professional discussions, some of which were outside of working hours and at no point was the service provided compromised in any way.

My mother has three visits from carers each day since returning home after breaking her leg last autumn. I have found the carers well-qualified, pleasant and helpful and my mother has developed a good rapport with them. Home Instead provide a very reliable service. Let my mother know if a carer has been delayed and so far have never let us down, even after a snowfall in December.

They offer so much help in the home from light cleaning to bed-making, shopping and making her a sandwich for lunch. All things that now she finds difficult and unable to do for herself. Perhaps most importantly they provide a daily, friendly companionship.

I recommend this company highly. It is not cheap, but you get an excellent service, with a full hour each session and additional help available. It was worth everything to have peace of mind, great staff and the highest level of safeguarding.

Home Instead have been amazing since Granda came out of hospital. The speed at which you were able to upgrade his care requirements and the support he has received to be able to return home is fantastic. We really are grateful for everything you do. One of the carers deserves a special mention. She’s been incredible, Granda’s house has never looked better, she goes above and beyond and I’m so thankful she’s involved in his care.

My mum had 3 carers a day. She was well looked after and at times the office staff arranged to cover for doctor’s appointments and if Mum wasn’t well they arranged for a carer to stay with her longer. The carers were always friendly and took good care of my mum.

I was devastated to have to leave a home of nearly 30 years. I settled here in the area when I was still perfectly fine. But lately, that has changed and I need regular care. This care afforded me by Home Instead, has been and indeed is a lifeline. Their carers are friendly, intelligent people who converse on an amiable basis on a variety of subjects. Their attitude is always completely professional and their help is always unstinting given.

The service provided by Home Instead is both excellent and exceptional, the office staff, as well as those on the frontline, are friendly and diligent in performing their duties; in every instance, they are most cooperative when it comes to answering questions as well as when it comes to doing household chores. We have been using Home Instead for six months and have absolutely no cause for complaint - I warmly and wholeheartedly commend them for the superb job which they do.

An excellent service is provided for complete peace of mind. They went above and beyond for my dad, and I am sorry we have had to stop using them. This was due to dad finally getting a diagnosis and future care is being provided through social services. Home Instead always came at the quoted times and it was really easy to keep in touch with them. The app is an amazing tool for families to check in with what has happened in each visit. I would like to thank all the staff again for everything they did for my dad.

Friendly, reliable and helpful people both at home and in the office. Looked after Mum well and kept her safe even though she wasn’t the easiest of people to deal with! Top marks for the team at Home Instead absolutely faultless. The caregivers are highly trained and professional in their care, yet they have been more like extended family in helping my Aunt. They have gone above and beyond many times in what can be a difficult job and for that I am very grateful. Timekeeping is brilliant, always knowing who is coming is a very big help to someone who has dementia and routine is everything. Home Instead ticks all the boxes on every level, any queries just phone the office and easily sorted. In my Aunt's home jobs have got done because they know it needs doing, without having to ask. Thank you very much for all your help I cannot recommend you highly enough.

I have nothing but praise for the staff that deliver such great care to our mother. Always delivered with dignity, patience and care. We are so reassured by the care at a time when bad press if often given in general about this service and feel able to keep Mum in her own home with these lovely staff supporting us.

Home Instead (Retford and Gainsborough) are an amazing company. We needed to sort care for my parents very quickly, and the team at Home Instead were fantastic and made it happen. Not only that, the caregivers are all brilliant - professional, hard-working and friendly. Other healthcare professionals have spotted that we're using them, and have commented "they're the best".
