The Redruth office is one of the 6 offices in the Cornwall region covered by Westcountry Home Care and Alexandras Community Care opening in 2012 and quickly growing.

The Alexandras Community Care team offer expert, flexible care solutions to help people with additional needs remain at home and their services. The team provide care to clients in Camborne, Pool, Redruth and surrounding areas.

They offer flexible care packages with visit durations starting at 30 minutes up and ranging up to 24 hour care. This includes support with personal care such as dressing, washing and medication, to palliative care and dementia care. The office works extensively with the NHS to provide specialist care for advanced and complex conditions, for example, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Injuries.
The Redruth team has a real family feel and are passionate about fundraising for local charities. The efforts of the team were recognised in 2019 when they were shortlisted for ‘Team of the Year’ for the 2019 Care and Support awards.

They are kept fully trained on latest techniques and best practices with their in house trainer as well as other externally accredited sources and are all DBS checked.

Alexandra's Community Care have been caring for my dad for four years now. I cannot praise them enough, from the office team to the Carers on their daily visits. They treat my dad with care and compassion, chat and laugh together, all the time maintaining his dignity and desire to live independently.
They give me some breathing space, as I know he is safe in their hands, for which I am so grateful.

I am very pleased with Alexandra's Community Care-Redruth
I think all carers do an excellent job in keeping my wife clean and tidy.

Very professional, all requests are dealt with promptly. A couple of small issues but these were quickly rectified.
Communication is good, and I have access to the carers notes so I know exactly what's going on.

The carers are doing exactly what they have been asked to do by taking it really slowly with Mum. Mum absolutely hates any form of help in her house or for herself but I feel that the team are slowly bringing her around to accepting small amounts of help so all credit to them. The whole team are amazing
and go over and above the norm to help where help is needed.

We approached Alexandra's for holiday cover whilst staying in a different area. I was impressed from the outset with the agency's professionalism and communication. Once we arrived on holiday things weren't quite as disabled-friendly as advertised, but we were supported and helped to overcome the challenges
and I couldn't have been happier with our choice. All staff are very polite and courteous, and I really don't have anything negative to report. Will definitely use it again.

Following a diagnosis of dementia and to honour her wish to stay in her own home our mum was assessed as requiring care.
Her care was provided by Alexandra Care Agency.
That care continued for three years during which time our mum was treated with dignity, respect and kindness, as we all were by the
carers.
Mum was often heard to say that 'she couldn't have been treated better than if she were the Queen.'
Nothing was too much trouble for the carers and they even vicariously looked after her little dog!
Sadly, she didn't remember the carer's names however, she recognised each and every one of them and they brought joy to her day.
During the last week of her life, her care became double handed and we met a whole new team of carers.
Again, each and every one of them was compassionate, respectful and above all else kind.
As a family we will be forever grateful for the care, kindness and support shown to us all.

My mum is a very new client and so far we have been very impressed with the service provided. Mum has really liked all of the care assistants who have visited her and they have been both professional and so friendly, which is great! I live over 300 miles away from Mum so can only visit her a few times
a year, so it is really good to know that she now has personal interaction every day and the online system is an excellent way for me to get a daily update on how she is getting on. Many thanks to the excellent Alexandra team!

We were so pleased with the professionalism of all the staff who came to care for our Mother. They were so kind to her, caring and compassionate. They ensured she was comfortable at all times and were even able to joke with her at times. She was always very grateful for their expert help and thanked

We initially used the care services of Alexandra’s in Redruth for our elderly Mum on an ad hoc basis alongside our private carers but came to rely on them more and more. I cannot rate them highly enough. All the staff have been so friendly, caring, respectful and generally lovely people; both the hands-on
carers and in the office. We were given a weekly rota so we knew exactly who was coming and when. Generally, Mum saw the same faces so knew who was who, and more importantly, they knew her and her likes and dislikes. Alexandra’s have taken everything in their stride; Covid, lockdowns, staff shortages, medical emergencies, overnight stays, and eventually sadly the death of our Mum. Everything has been dealt with sensitively, professionally, and with total compassion for Mum and for us as a family. We thank you, Alexandra’s, for helping make a very difficult situation so much easier to deal with.

My sister came home from hospital after being in palliative care last October. She has had daily visits from the nurses and they have been absolutely brilliant with her. My sister has Down’s syndrome and associated issues. They have been kind, compassionate, and efficient at dealing with her daily needs.
She now has the nurses coming for a couple of hours a day as outreach sessions as she has vastly improved. They are an excellent resource and I and my brother cannot speak highly enough of them. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs some assistance.

Since this care company took over the care package for my mum and my sister I have nothing but praise for the company and the staff. Also during COVID-19, I have been shielded and not been able to leave my house to go visit my mum and sister. This company has taken over all the duties like cleaning,
feeding the pets, the shopping, collection of meds, contacting doctors, calling for ambulances when needed and done anything else that has had to be done. This company and its staff really care about their clients 100% and more. We owe this company so much gratitude for all they have done. Without them, we do not know what would have happened and we hope that this company never stops caring for my mum and sister because we don't think that anyone can produce the same amount of care and compassion that they have. Registered Manager, Nicola Rowe, has recently returned to manage Redruth having started her career with Alexandras in 2012 as a carer.


Nicola progressed through the management levels becoming Deputy Manager of Redruth for 3 years before ultimately becoming manager of Truro.


Having taken a career break, Nicola has now returned to the Reduth team and is fully supported in Redruth by a great team of Team Leaders, Carers and Admin staff.

I joined Alexandra's back in 2015 when my first daughter was only 2 months old.


I decided to have a new start at a hospital using previous skills I had gained many years ago. I then saw an advert for an office admin (maternity cover) in Redruth where I originally started my caring career and decided to apply. I got the job and re-joined as the Redruth office admin!


The job for Deputy Manager then opened up and I applied as thought I would make a good Deputy Manager from the work I had already produced. I found out I got the Deputy Manager's job and was over the moon! I'm excited to see what new experiences this job will bring me.
