Coming to Home Instead Baldock was one of the best things I ever did for Mum. Our experience has been excellent from the outset, when 4 years ago Mum began with a small amount of care, increasing over time, to the last few months of 24 hour care from a truly wonderful team of carers, enabling her to remain in her own home until the end of her life.
Her carers have been highly professional, incredibly kind, sensitive and caring and Mum saw them as friends. We are deeply grateful for the way they enabled her to remain herself. Even when she was having difficulty they were able to encourage her back to herself, enabling her innate curiosity and interest in everything to continue to flourish right up to the end. They were incredibly important to her well being and we cannot thank them enough for this.

The office team were always welcoming, responsive & efficient & I always knew Mum was in safe hands. I always felt part of a team working together to help Mum live the best life she could.

Home Instead provided exceptional care for my Mum over a very challenging year. All the carers were kind, professional and treated her with dignity, respect and a healthy dose of humor. The management staff were excellent too and I would recommend Home Instead 100%.

Home Instead cared for my father for the last few months of his life. My brothers and I were becoming increasingly worried about our father's ability to care for himself as he was living on his own and we all lived far away.
I contacted Home Instead and knew I had made the right choice straight away at the initial meeting. The staff were very well organised and very thorough at information gathering asking lots of questions and taking a lot of notes. .I could see straight away that they were very committed and took their work very seriuously.
After an initial assessment period of a few weeks I was really pleased to learn that Home Instead had decided my father needed visits twice every day. It really put my mind at rest to know he was being visited regularly and we had access to twice daily reports of what was happening with my father.

They were also a godsend when my father passed away sorting out what needed to be done. I don't know how we would have coped without them.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, and for trusting us with your father's care during such an important time.

From the first meeting, our team works hard to understand each person's needs, so it's lovely to hear that you felt reassured by the thorough assessment and the care we put...

My family and I are beyond grateful to the Home Instead caregivers and office staff for the dedicated, professional way that they looked after my parents in their bungalow over a period of six years - making it possible for them both to, ultimately, pass away in their comfortable home (albeit just over two years apart).

The kindness of the caregivers knew no bounds, and someone was always available in the office to respond to, and support us with, any changing situations (especially health-wise) that elderly people almost inevitably experience.

I can honestly say that we could not have coped without the Home Instead team from a practical point of view but, additionally, the friendship they gave Mum and Dad (for example - playing Scrabble, helping with crosswords, chatting together) ensured that daily life for my parents was varied and interesting.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to anyone looking for professional, caring, in-home support.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful Home Instead have been and the reassurance they brought to my mum and our family. After sadly experiencing poor care with previous companies and seeing the negative effect that had on my mum, finally having a company that truly care about your loved one was life changing. My mum transformed, it was a joy to see how much she adored her carers and they felt the same. It was important for us that Mum had the same carers, who really got to know her and her routine and I was very pleased to hear that it was just as important to the Home Instead staff. I didn't need to worry anymore about how Mum would be treated, safe in the knowledge that she was receiving the best possible care and I could step away. In my opinion Home Instead are the gold standard of care and I only wish that we had them from the start. The carers became like family to us. Home Instead genuinely care about their clients and nothing is too much trouble. We are so grateful to them all.

First of all the communication channels are excellent.
Management, administrative and care staff are willing to discuss any situation and act on it.
From our experience they follow this ethos through to dealing with the GP and organisations such as Hospital at Home.

They are prepared to listen to suggestions regarding the care schedule which can benefit both Home Instead and the client.

I would like to put in writing my sincere thanks to Cindy and Hayley for all the care and attention they gave me over the past few months while I was unwell. They both carried out any tasks I needed help with willingly and thoroughly..
Hayley was always kind and efficient. Cindy went the 'extra mile'. She was never judgemental and encouraged me to believe in myself again and helped me regain my confidence.

The staff in the Home Instead office always dealt quickly and efficiently with any of our queries.

Home Instead have cared for my father for over a year. Not having entered into the carers world and the anxiety my family had over starting it, it worked out well for Dad and he really enjoyed seeing his carer each morning.

If there were any issues, they were dealt with swiftly and professionally. I would recommend the company to others .

Home Instead have provided excellent home care for my mother for several years prior to her moving into a care home last month. Throughout this time she has had a regular team of carers who have got to know her well and enabled her to stay in her own home for as long as possible. It has been so reassuring for us to know that we had a reliable and caring service for her, with the most brilliant carers who continued to encourage my mother to remain independent, whilst stepping in when she clearly need help. Over recent years as her condition deteriorated, the Home Instead office were able to act very quickly and increase the level of care and number of visits, but still keep the same regular team of carers. The team were always available for us to discuss any concerns and came up with solutions which always worked. We would have no hesitation in recommending this kind, professional, responsive and caring service who have given us peace of mind.

I honestly can't praise Home Instead enough! Mum has dementia and reduced mobility and she absolutely loves her daily care visits. All three of her ladies have become friends and Mum loves to chat and laugh with them. Home Instead understand that caring is personal and try to match clients with carers who have hobbies or ideas in common. My family and I are very grateful that Mum is in such good hands and how changes or concerns noticed by her carers are communicated so quickly to us. The office staff are brilliant listeners too and quickly revise Mums care plan if we need to make adjustments. What a relief to find a company that has such a personal touch, who's carers are respectful and kind and professional and absolutely CARE! Thank you to the whole Home Instead team for giving us peace of mind. Mum is happier and healthier since her visits started. You were recommended to us by a friend and myself and all my family wholeheartedly recommend you too. Keep up the good work!

I have found Home Instead to outstanding. They are professional, responsive, respectful and extremely caring. My father, and my mother before him, has used there caring services for several years. We feel grateful we chose them as they have very high standards for their carers and are constantly improving their service. It's a pleasure to be with the carers when they are with Dad and it's a joy to talk to the team at their HQ. They immediately know me and our requirements. Nothing has been too much to ask. Home Instead cared for my mother for a number of years. The last few months of her life they provided 24 care to enable mum to stay at home in last months of her life.
The care provided was above and beyond that expected and the support from the carers and the office staff for us, mums family was superb. The end of life care mum received made her last few months better for her as she felt safe being in her own home and saw her team of carers as her friends.

I write this review with heartfelt thanks from my sister and myself. Home Instead has been a godsend. They provided unfailing and professional support for our mother, not only in terms of her practical needs but also in the way they became good friends. I'm not surprised that this aspect has been mentioned before. Our mother did not particularly want help because she was fiercely independent, but the resistance she put up bore no relation whatsoever to the warmth and happiness she felt on Home Instead's visits. We cannot fault the service we received from both the office and the carers who came out: it was very efficient, friendly, cheerful and reassuring and gave us all peace of mind. Our mother sadly passed away late last year and it meant a lot to us that two members of the care team could be present for her memorial service. We will happily recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for the best of care and company in later life. Thank you for everything!

I signed up with Home Instead a year ago for the care of my father who has dementia. I cannot fault the entire Home Instead team. The office staff are always available. Whenever I call, the phone is picked up quickly and there's always a friendly voice to listen to my concerns or questions. They're easy to talk to and always willing to accommodate any requests or changes to my dad's care. On our first meeting, the team said that it was their aim to develop a relationship with my mum and dad to become more of a friend than a support worker. They have delivered that goal completely. My mum has enjoyed the respite given as a result of all the laughs and shoulders to cry on she has received. My dad loves his visits from the team and is noticeably brighter and alert when they're around. The peace of mind these friendly, down-to-earth, caring people have given me is invaluable. My parents are in the best hands. Thanks to all the team.

Today, she brings that same enthusiasm and dedication into her role, creating engaging, supportive learning environments where care pros can grow and thrive. She understands that great care starts with great training, and she takes pride in helping others build the confidence and skills needed to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred support.
