Home Instead changed my parent's lives, they cared for my father in his final months on the planet and shouldered the burden of his care from my mother as much as they could, it made for a much more comfortable life for my dad and ensured mum could take a rest from the day-to-day care she had been giving him. As much as the tasks and jobs were done and done brilliantly with amazing professionalism. The real difference is in the people, the people that cared for my dad were amazing with him, the promise of quality time spent with the client and the importance of the one-to-one relationship was the most important part of all of dad's care. Beautiful, caring people with a genuine interest in the human being they are spending time caring for is the jewel in Home Instead's crown, it changed my dad and mums lives, for that we will always be grateful.

My mum, who suffers from dementia, has been cared for by Home Instead care givers for some time. She has now moved into assisted living but the quality of care and compassion is such that we continue to retain a weekly visit in addition to the on-site care Mum now has. At every stage, Mum has been treated with dignity and understanding. The maturity of the care givers is second to none. They all took time to get to know Mum and all the nuances of her condition, often going above and beyond my expectations in the care they gave. I can't thank them enough for the peace of mind they have given me and the joy they have given Mum. Thank you!

Very professional organisation who were able to respond promptly to our request for a short term care package.

Excellent standard of care provided by caregivers in all areas - cleaning, shopping, care and companionship.

Mum started using Home Instead about a month ago following a long assessment period with a variety of temporary carers. The care and personal touches provided by Home Instead has been brilliant and I have noticed a real difference in mum’s enthusiasm and mood since she has been having these daily visits. Thank you!

Unfortunately, my mother’s health declined rapidly over a few days, from being independent, doing her own cooking and washing to hardly being able to speak, eat and look after herself. Not knowing what was wrong with her, I called the doctor who didn’t examine her and just did her blood pressure. I live over a hundred miles from my mother, so I searched for suitable carers in Letchworth and I'm so pleased I found Home Instead. The carer came the next day to assess my mother and to everyone's horror found she had a severe infection and sepsis. They immediately arranged for the ambulance and she is now in hospital extremely poorly. But without Home Instead, she would have continued to deteriorate at home in discomfort and pain. I'm eternally grateful to their carers for spotting the problem and acting swiftly.

The support, care and kindness shown to my mother has been outstanding. Nothing has been too much trouble for the agency and the carers. As Mum's health has deteriorated they have responded rapidly and thoughtfully to the changing situation. Communication has been excellent - Mum and I feel she is in safe hands. I really don't know where we would have turned to, so have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead (Letchworth).

My experience with Home Instead caregivers commenced at the beginning of April. I have recently been discharged from a long period in hospital. I was in a physically weak condition. My two carers made sure that I took the necessary medications, drank plenty of water and eat healthy meals though my appetite was small at that time. The care and thoughtfulness I have received over the past 8 weeks have restored my health. I am sad to be losing these friends.

I called on Home Instead after a couple of friends recommended them to help with my father.
After the first meeting and assessment of Dad's needs, we met the people who will be taking Dad out.
Dad has been to a hospital appointment and general outings with Home Instead staff, he enjoys their visits.
When his dementia took a dip and he had to move into a residential home they kept in touch and Dad is still enjoying seeing them.

I cannot thank them enough and would recommend them.

Since October 2017 Home Instead have matched me with two carers, after a serious accident, now my friends and I appreciate all that they do for me. In fact, they are now part of my family.

In February 2019 after consultation with doctors, I was allowed a holiday for much-needed respite, only made possible with the support and guidance of Home Instead, who organised insurance and cover so both carers could share the needed 24-hour care. A week abroad required thorough organisation; transport of equipment to ensure my security and mobility. I felt we worked well as a team, to ensure my safety and needs were met. It was a valuable bonding experience, as we learnt about the problems which face travellers with special requirements, sharing some interesting and humorous situations, adding to our enjoyment and experience, whilst re-boosting my confidence in being able to lead a normal life: an experience I may not have had without the carers, and the Home Instead team.

I have had help from the carers for about four weeks since my husband died. I have got medical needs and the carers have been extremely helpful in all aspects. They will do all housework, cleaning, ironing, and anything else I ask them to do, including shopping.

They are so friendly and it is a joy to have them come into the house, in fact, I look forward to it as I'm confined to the house at the moment as I'm on oxygen concentrator for 10 hrs a day. They work hard and the house always looks good, nice and clean when they have left. I extremely recommend this company to others and will continue to do so in the future. I hope they continue to maintain the high standards in the future.

I have used the service for some time now and have always been pleased. The carers are very good and respectful to my father and it is important to mention that the service is also very good to me as another carer as well as his daughter.
The carers are chosen carefully to be a good fit with Dad so, as far as is humanly possible, the same carers are always used which is a great comfort for my father and means I can leave him in their care with no concerns. The office is professional, friendly, understanding and will basically do everything they can to help.

I couldn’t manage without them.

My father was extremely against having carers to help him at home but due to circumstances regarding his health and welfare, he had to agree to having carers. I was recommended to Home Instead and I’m so happy that I was, it’s been brilliant from the word go, from the initial meeting with my dad to assess him, making him feel very comfortable about having carers, to the choice of carers that Home Instead picked for him, the ladies that look after my dad are perfect for him.
I would recommend Home Instead with total confidence.
I would never have thought my father would have accepted carers but he has wholeheartedly, but I think that is only because of the Home Instead team.

Fantastic.

I am extremely happy with the care my nan receives from Home Instead Senior Care (Stevenage & North Herts).
I was concerned about how she would be initially, accepting having support at home. However, Home Instead Senior Care (Stevenage & North Herts) have given her the time she needs and she has nothing but positive things to say about her carer.

We wanted an agency that could provide consistency with careers and could become a companion for my Nan. Which has been achieved and I’m extremely grateful for Everything they have done.

I find all the carer's that visit my dad to be very professional and easy to get along with.

So much so, that my dad (who has early dementia), doesn't even think of them as carers. Just people that come and see him every day, to make him some breakfast, put a sandwich in the fridge, see how he is and does the cleaning for him. But more importantly, people that come and chat with him and treat him as a person, rather than a patient.

We started using Home Instead for visits to my elderly mother to help her stay independent. This was in early 2018.

Although she was scared and not sure at first, Home Instead was very diplomatic, kind and caring and matched mum perfectly to her wonderful carer and to 2 other carers who helped during holidays. Mum and her family cannot praise all at Home Instead enough. A recent stay in hospital for me would have been a disaster for mum without the extra care and support provided. Thank you to all at Home Instead. We could not do without you.
