Very kind and considerate carers who we are very happy to have cared for our elderly uncle. He has particular needs and sometimes his behaviour can be a little challenging due to his medical condition, however, the office staff have been great in finding the right carers for him.

Communication with the office staff is very good and nothing is too much trouble for the carers; one of whom will often stay on a little longer just to chat and make sure our Uncle is set for the day and happy.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead.

The two lady carers always arrived on time with smiles and a greeting. They always gave dignified service to my husband by helping him to shave and dress. They also conversed with my husband, who had dementia, and managed to find topics of interest. If time remained, they would offer help to me which often meant cutting up hard vegetables.they were both real carers and I looked forward to seeing them each morning.

Home Instead was our lifeline when my husband came home from the hospital.
He had dementia, poor eyesight and a critical heart condition following a stroke.
Our caregiver has been my strength, support and friend.
She has helped all the way with my husband's downhill battle and will assist when he finally gets admitted to a care home next week.

Without them all in Letchworth I would have been lost.

Home Instead have always been both professionally competent as well as friendly and easy to approach.
They have provided my very elderly relatives with care and understanding from the outset, at a time when new faces were not normally welcomed. Although circumstances mean that sometimes different people have to visit, each carer has been introduced and fully briefed before arrival and is always welcomed on return.

I am more than happy to entrust the ongoing home care of my relatives to Home Instead and have no reservations in recommending them to others.

We have had the service from Home Instead now for three months and have been extremely pleased. There were doubts at the beginning as to how my wife would react to the invasion of privacy but this has been handled most sensitively and she has not been in the least bit upset, in fact listening to the laughter and singing coming from the bathroom I would say the opposite is true!!

Carers have been very sweet and have become friends who my wife looks forward to greeting each morning. The whole experience in dealing with Home Instead has been most positive and reassuring. It leaves me very happy to know that my wife is in the hands of such competent and lovely people.

My parent's ability to look after themselves at home deteriorated when my mother's health was compromised 2 years ago. My father, as her carer, struggled to make meals and the health of both of them declined until my father went into the hospital in August 2016. I was recommended Home Instead Senior Care (Stevenage & North Herts) to provide carers to enable Mum and Dad to live independently.

The lady who was introduced to cook evening meals for them has been an absolute godsend. She is very kind to them and exceptionally caring.

My father has since had another health crisis and another spell in hospital and Home Instead have provided more carers to give morning care to help encourage them to take their medication.

Home Instead also keeps us informed of any needs. This has enabled Mum and Dad to continue living at home and provided us with peace of mind, knowing that they are being cared for on a regular basis.

We engaged with our local Home Instead team about ten months ago and have been highly impressed. The process began with a careful face-to-face discussion to ascertain what was needed. The management team then took a personal interest in finding the right person to meet the requirements. Speed was of the essence. My mother immediately took to the carer they selected and that same person proved to be an excellent long-term match for her.

During the year requirements have at times increased and we found that Home Instead delivered on their promise to be flexible. Again, we felt that both the management team and the carer herself took a truly personal interest in providing the right support in a timely fashion.

Communication throughout has also been timely and helpful. The level of responsiveness and follow up has been second to none. We could not have found a better agency, management team, or carer to support our mother's wish to continue living independently in her own home.

We currently have three different carers through Home Instead. They are all very personable, punctual, reliable, unhurried and genuinely caring. They treat my mother with respect and often go beyond what is expected of them in the daily routine, where they see a need. They are equally friendly with my partner and me and take the time to chat, so their visits don’t feel at all intrusive.

Home Instead has recognised and provided a perfect match between my mother and her carer. Although not too elderly or infirm, mum needed company and stimulus and an understanding of her newly diagnosed dementia. Home Instead has literally given my mum a new lease of life and a new friend and I cannot rate them highly enough for the time and empathy they have given her. I do and will continue to recommend them to anyone I know who may benefit from their services.

I had a carer from Home Instead Senior Care each morning to help me wash and dress! Except for four mornings I had the same carer. They were all excellent. The carers were all very competent, I felt quite at ease with them and enjoyed meeting them. I missed them when they had finished coming to me. I was pleased to have them introduced to us before they started. They always arrived on time and often did one or two extra things to help me. I would definitely employ them again and would have no hesitation in recommending the company.

Hello, I’m Femi, the owner of Home Instead in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire. I have a 22 year background in medical practice, specialising in mental health. My clinical practice over the years has helped forge strong personal and professional values that are in line with Home Instead’s core value of client centred care.

My personal experience of looking after a parent with dementia, as well as my professional work as a specialist in dementia care has allowed me to understand the importance of promoting the client’s independence and ability to make choices, even in the face of the odds and challenges they might be facing, as a consequence of poor health.

My experience and values from clinical practice will be brought to bear in providing overarching leadership to the franchise as it continues to further its vision of providing care to the highest standards, in our local communities of Hitchin, Letchworth, Stevenage and surrounding towns and villages.

Her Aim

To ensure our service is consistently Caring, Safe, Effective and Responsive — not just for our clients, but for the care pros and wider team who make everything possible.

Her Why

For her, care is more than a career — it’s a personal mission. She was drawn to the role to make a genuine difference; to be part of something that gives back and improves lives every single day.

These experiences shape everything she does. She is passionate about ensuring people know that support is available to help them live safely, comfortably, and happily in their own homes — but more than that, she is driven to deliver blooming good care.

Her Aim

To provide high-quality training and education that ensures every care pro feels safe, supported, and confident when visiting clients — empowering them to deliver care that truly makes a difference.

Her Why

Her care journey began at a young age, inspired by her dad. During school holidays, she would join him at work, helping out and experiencing first-hand the importance of compassionate care. Christmas Days were often spent in a care home, serving dinner and handing out presents, while her mum prepared their own celebrations at home.

These early experiences sparked a passion that has never left her. From those moments, she knew that working in care was not just something she wanted to do — it was where she belonged.

Today, she brings that same enthusiasm and dedication into her role, creating engaging, supportive learning environments where care pros can grow and thrive. She understands that great care starts with great training, and she takes pride in helping others build the confidence and skills needed to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred support.
