We've been using Home Instead for just over a year. All the carers are sensitive, helpful, caring and compassionate and it's been a great relief for the family to know they are visiting and being supportive so our Aunt can remain in her own home. Dealing with the Home Instead office is always easy and nothing is ever too much trouble. I would highly recommend Home Instead St Austell to anyone looking for support for a friend or family member.

Reliable carers have been coming in to take care of Dad’s morning needs to include washing, dressing and preparing breakfast. They have all shown patience and understanding, ensuring he was able to maintain his dignity. Any concerns raised with the management team were quickly addressed and dealt with correctly.

Compassionate and professional service from both carers and management. This gives our family peace of mind that Mum is receiving the care and support she needs to be able to remain living in her own home, and that we will be alerted to any potential issues that we need to address.

I used Home Instead (St. Austell) whilst on holiday with the family for two weeks in Rock. I had the same companion carer for ten days. I found her engaging, stimulating and inspiring. We exercised, sang, did crosswords, walked outside and played lawn boules. She respected my needs for rest and quiet time. While the family were at the beach most days I felt I had a holiday too. She was punctual, reliable and willing to help me in all sorts of ways. Whilst we officially booked care for two hours each weekday, Home Instead were totally flexible allowing us to have care for weekends and for extended periods and also allowing us to cancel care for the days we wanted to be independent. All in all the service provided suited us perfectly. Well done Home Instead for your fresh and stimulating approach to companionship care.

I have found the staff and management professional, friendly and very approachable. They quickly made available a suitable service provider for my mother and were flexible and accommodating in the early days of provision when adjustments were required, to times and frequency of visits. At all times, they showed a depth of knowledge and understanding of the issues that my mother was experiencing and therefore, were able to tailor their services and select the most appropriate care provider. The carer has gone the extra mile in supporting my mother, showing warmth and understanding. Communication with management is excellent, they always make themselves available to discuss any issue, whether big or small.

From the very start of m contacting the agency, I was impressed with their sympathetic and professional manner. They took me through all my options and arranged a visit to our home within days.
the package of care was sensitively discussed and agreed and was fitted around my husband's needs perfectly.

I would use this agency the next time if either for myself or my husband should need it. Very pleased with their caring and reliable service,

Claire Tyler
Claire TylerJob Title:Care ManagerJoined: 2016

Hi, my name is Claire, and I am the Registered Care Manager here at Home Instead Mid Cornwall.

I have worked in care for the past twelve years, mainly in the community.

I joined Home Instead as a part-time CAREGiver whilst working full time for a charity providing palliative care to terminally ill patients. In August 2017, I joined fulltime as a Team leader and then became Care Co-ordinator at the beginning of 2018. I have been Care Manager since October 2018 and in 2020 I completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care.

My role is to lead and manage Care Operations, working closely with our Care Co-ordinator Libby, Field Care Co-ordinator Rhiannon and our Senior CAREGivers to provide our high quality, relationship-based care for the people we look after in St Austell, Wadebridge, Bodmin, Tywardreath and Par, Lostwithiel and Fowey.

I love animals and have rescued many rabbits. In my spare time, I enjoy doing crafts, drawing and reading.

Hi, my name is Patrick Hughes and I am the Director of the Mid Cornwall office. After a 25 year career in finance in the city, it is great to be providing a service that makes a real, positive difference to people’s lives and contributing to the local community.

My role is to meet people in the community to let them know what we can offer, and see how we can help. I also help with recruitment of CAREGivers and manage the business side.

Members of my family have been involved in working in care and I have seen and heard much about the challenges the care sector is facing both for clients and people working as carers. Home Instead’s mission is to become the UK's most admired Care Company through changing the face of ageing and is at the forefront of changing people’s perception and experience of what home care choices are available, and of what it is like to work as a CAREGiver.

It is a great privilege to have opened an office with them five years ago, and I am looking forward to growing our team further providing Home Instead Senior Care’s unique, companionship led, personalised care to our clients in Mid Cornwall.

Hi, my name is Libby. I work as Care Co-ordinator here. This is to help Claire with organising the care we provide. This includes scheduling, care planning, supporting our CAREGivers and keeping in touch with the people we look after and their families.

In my spare time, I like swimming, walking Kezia (a very spoiled cocker spaniel!) and being outside in the garden.
