Home Instead absolutely came to my rescue! Recommended by a family member who is a community nurse, this wonderful organisation provided the short-term support I needed after several weeks of home nursing. My husband’s health was slowly improving but it was reassuring to have a friendly and competent carer to supervise showering and, to my delight, to carry out light household tasks such as ironing. I was able to leave the house for a short while. Right from the initial home assessment visit, the process was easy, and the staff was professional, caring and friendly. Home Instead was there in our hour of need. Highly recommended - thank you.

Home Instead have been and continues to be fantastic carers for my mother who suffers from dementia. As I don't live nearby it's so important to feel that you have access to quality, empathetic and practical support on a regular basis. This is what Home Instead do so well. They listen to Mum's needs, spot the changes that may mean practical readjustments and help work through managing any changes calmly and empathetically.

Because of this support, Mum is able to continue to live independently and very happily in Cornwall where she grew up.

Home Instead has provided an excellent service over the past four years. From a personal point of view, being over two hundred miles away from my friend, she suffers from epilepsy and short-term memory loss resulting from strokes and I need the assurance of knowing she is in safe, caring hands. I have never doubted the quality of service offered by both caregivers and management. On occasion, when there has been cause for concern for my friend's well-being, I have been notified immediately. Both of us have always found the caregivers to be patient, personable and of good humour. Duties have included; chores around the home, assisting in computer-communication with family members, shopping expeditions and hospital appointments. Of huge importance, the service has provided warm and understanding human companionship, invaluable in sustaining independent living.

All the Caregivers and the office-based staff are very professional but friendly. They know about the client; their likes and dislikes, and how they like to be addressed and ask how they can help. They use their initiative when required to help the client more when circumstances change.
The care reports are always comprehensive so as a relative I know how the client is and the tasks completed.

I can always contact the office-based staff by email and phone. Communication with them is always helpful and informative. I also know they will contact me if there is a problem or they feel something needs to be changed

A very special person with multiple attributes is employed by Home Instead to assist clients where daily tasks are unachievable. Each carer never refuses housework of varying types, working quickly and always efficiently in a cheerful and positive mood. We look forward to the carer's arrival and are sorry to see her leave later on.

I simply cannot speak highly enough of every aspect of the Home Instead service.
Every caregiver gave a fantastic service and made my parents feel safe, comfortable and like friends.
The support team were super efficient, friendly to deal with and helpful at all times.
My whole family has felt like they could trust the care given and also mix in a positive way with caregivers when we were in my parent's home. This was so important to us.

I can’t thank everyone concerned enough. They all very much went that extra mile on a regular basis.

Home Instead has been fantastic in providing home care services for my parent. They have been flexible to evolving care needs. They provide general help with bathing, shopping, cooking meals and providing company and conversation. Each visit is accompanied by a detailed daily report via a patient portal, so myself and family can keep up to date with care needs. I would certainly recommend their services without hesitation.

After initial reluctance to have care at home, Mum has found the service supplied by the carers to be exemplary. She now concedes she could not do without it. They provide a thorough service in the morning often doing small jobs to make her and my life easier. At times she says that something is not done but when explained to her that the carers are not mind readers she does ask for a small job to be done. They are punctual and polite, very friendly.

The whole team have been unswerving in their professionalism, care, patience, kindness and understanding. They have been flexible and helpful throughout. My parents-in-law were very happy with their caregivers. We were sad to change providers, but this was due to a change in circumstances.

I found the company to be first class with my mother who was not always willing to accept some of the carers and had her favourites. The company was very flexible and met all the requests outside of contracted hours I asked of them. All the carers were very kind compassionate and incredibly patient. I would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone in the local area considering private care provision.

Home Instead (Mid Cornwall) have been extremely helpful and supportive in meeting the care needs of my mother over the past 18 months.
My mother was reluctant to accept help and the team at Mid Cornwall worked with the ups and downs, showing great flexibility while things settled down.

Their team built a strong relationship with my mother and knowing that the Mid Cornwall team were visiting regularly provided tremendous peace of mind, as well as the help my mother needed.

From the very first phone call, this company have been an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Great communication and efficiency from the office staff and the carers are kind, friendly, patient and courteous.
My dad really looks forward to their visits and tells me all about his trips out with them.
Originally this was just going to be an arrangement to assist with showering, but, over time has become so much more and has totally enriched his life.

I cannot fault this fantastic company and would strongly recommend it to anyone considering having help for themselves or family members.

The staff have been amazing. They are very professional dealing with their client which is excellent but they are friendly and caring which is very important.
They have taken the implications of Covid very seriously and always wear their masks and where possible socially distance.
I have used the St. Austell branch for the last 4 years and cannot fault them. Should a problem arise the office staff are quick to respond and always keep me up to date. Occasionally, extra training has been necessary with new medications and this has been dealt with very professionally.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I engaged Home Instead Senior Care for a very close friend who was extremely poorly but was a very independent, demanding and particular character. All the carers were amazing. Very understanding, kind and considerate. They saw to all his needs with discretion, allowing him to retain his dignity. No tasks were too much for them. All senior staff were very helpful and understanding as well.

Even though our time with Home Instead was only short, I found them to be a very professional team and would have no reservation in recommending them.

I employed Home Instead St Austell in May 2019 for my friend. It was easy to set up, the Director, staff member and the team were very professional and helpful in making the arrangements. Over time apart from four months of respite care in a Care Home, my friend's care has increased to three/four hours daily for care and shopping.
The carers have been very kind and efficient and this has allowed my friend to remain in her own home up to now. When unforeseen problems arise, such as medication supply or a need for extra support, Home Instead have managed to see to it. Most importantly they have always been accessible even during these very difficult times of lockdown.

I am caring for the client's sister who has a serious illness. It has and is of great importance therefore that the care given to my friend helps to alleviate the pressure we are under ourselves and that has been very much appreciated. Many thanks all to the team especially during these difficult times.

The St Austell branch of Home Instead have been looking after my mum since November 2020. They have been incredibly helpful, professional and pro-active. Mum has some memory problems and knowing that someone has been in to see her every day for a chat and to check that she is OK, eating regularly and keeping warm enough has been a great relief. Home Instead were able to take her to her COVID vaccination appointments and have kept us up to speed with any potential issues. I would definitely recommend them.

We have been using Home Instead for over two years now. My mother who is in her eighties and lives alone suffered a stroke and needed help with general care, shopping, appointments and various household tasks. I honestly don't know how we would have managed without the lovely people at Home Instead. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you for all you do.

My mother returned to her home after being in a care home for nearly a year. We were uncertain how things were going to work, but she was determined to regain her independence and move back to her own house after her health improved over the months.

Home Instead was recommended to us by friends and we have been so impressed with their services so far, from the initial consultation to all the visits since starting. The carers are unfailingly polite, patient and thoughtful and provide just what my mother needs while also giving me and the rest of her family peace of mind. My mother has been able to increase her independence as we had hoped, but this has been done with the perfect amount of support from Home Instead at all times.

Claire TylerJob Title:Care ManagerJoined: 2016

Hi, my name is Claire, and I am the Registered Care Manager here at Home Instead Mid Cornwall.

I have worked in care for the past twelve years, mainly in the community.

I joined Home Instead as a part-time CAREGiver whilst working full time for a charity providing palliative care to terminally ill patients. In August 2017, I joined fulltime as a Team leader and then became Care Co-ordinator at the beginning of 2018. I have been Care Manager since October 2018 and in 2020 I completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care.

My role is to lead and manage Care Operations, working closely with our Care Co-ordinator Libby, Field Care Co-ordinator Rhiannon and our Senior CAREGivers to provide our high quality, relationship-based care for the people we look after in St Austell, Wadebridge, Bodmin, Tywardreath and Par, Lostwithiel and Fowey.

I love animals and have rescued many rabbits. In my spare time, I enjoy doing crafts, drawing and reading.

Hi, my name is Patrick Hughes and I am the Director of the Mid Cornwall office. After a 25 year career in finance in the city, it is great to be providing a service that makes a real, positive difference to people’s lives and contributing to the local community.

My role is to meet people in the community to let them know what we can offer, and see how we can help. I also help with recruitment of CAREGivers and manage the business side.

Members of my family have been involved in working in care and I have seen and heard much about the challenges the care sector is facing both for clients and people working as carers. Home Instead’s mission is to become the UK's most admired Care Company through changing the face of ageing and is at the forefront of changing people’s perception and experience of what home care choices are available, and of what it is like to work as a CAREGiver.

It is a great privilege to have opened an office with them five years ago, and I am looking forward to growing our team further providing Home Instead Senior Care’s unique, companionship led, personalised care to our clients in Mid Cornwall.

Hi, my name is Libby. I work as Care Co-ordinator here. This is to help Claire with organising the care we provide. This includes scheduling, care planning, supporting our CAREGivers and keeping in touch with the people we look after and their families.

In my spare time, I like swimming, walking Kezia (a very spoiled cocker spaniel!) and being outside in the garden.
