My father required complex care at home and I was recommended Arbour Care. When the Manager contacted me to discuss my father's care needs, I felt that I had struck lucky. However, when I saw the entire care team in action, I knew that I had, in fact, struck gold. They all delivered very professional care along with the kindness usually only received from closest friends. I cannot thank or praise them enough.
We have been delighted with Arbour Care Service. From the outset this small family business has gone out of their way to provide the friendly personal care that has enabled my mother to stay in her own home. We have had continual support and guidance from the management team, who are always available. We consider the carers to be friends of the family, whilst retaining a professionalism at all times. We are so pleased to have found Arbour Companions & Care.
My Mum suffered a debilitating stroke a few months ago which has accelerated her dementia. She now needs 24/7 care and we wanted Mum to have the best care possible, in her own home.
Finding the right care company was challenging. Most did not seem to take Mum's needs seriously, thinking of her as a commodity rather than as a person. That all changed when I met the manager from Arbour Companions and Care. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional and efficient yet at the same time personable, caring and kind. She spoke to Mum in the first instance (not about Mum) and quickly established her needs. The decision was an easy one.
My decision was a good one and we realised this when the carers arrived. They are marvellous. The lady who looks after Mum currently, is brilliant. Kind, attentive and professional. Mum is at home, with things happening on her terms.
Arbour Companions and Care is a good company. I trust them with my own family and am very happy with the results.

Meet the Team (7)
My early career was spent working in various banking roles in the City of London, then in 2008, I made the move into the care industry and haven't looked back.
Working in care is always busy and often challenging, but I love helping people and working with a team that can make a real difference to people's lives. I joined Arbour Companions and Care in 2024 as Registered Manager, and I have now progressed to Operations Director too.
My role is to ensure that our team provide the best care to enable our clients to live safely at home.
In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit, spending time with the family and going on long walks with the dog.
My varied role includes managing and supporting our office team with clinical matters, meeting with new clients to discuss their care needs and carrying out care needs assessments. I also enjoy developing relationships within healthcare settings and the local community, as part of business development. My career has been a blend of healthcare and education, having worked as a nurse in London hospitals, Marie Curie nursing, home care management, recruitment and working with children with special educational needs.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking and spending time with my family. I am a volunteer Dementia Champion in Surrey Heath, supporting families living with Dementia. This is a passion of mine, both on a personal and professional level.
I have worked in the care sector for 10 years, beginning as a carer in care homes and the mental health sector. During my time with Arbour Care, I have progressed from Care Coordinator to Senior Care Manager. My new role includes managing and supporting our field care supervisor and carers, carrying out supervisions, observations, and client well-being visits. I love getting out in the community to give hands-on support.
Having school-aged children, my spare time is spent at clubs and days out - they certainly keep me active. I have recently completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
My varied role includes managing and supporting clients and carers, setting up their bespoke care plans, assessing their moving and handling needs and carrying out all risk assessments. I come from a pharmaceutical background, so I am also responsible for carrying out medication audits and controlled drug protocols in line with NICE guidelines. I have worked in the care sector for 30 years, in many roles from being a carer in the community to office-based roles. I enjoy going out to visit our clients in their own homes to ensure they can flourish in a safe environment.
In my spare time, I make candles.
My time is shared between the office and working out in the community, supporting our carers. My duties include carrying out medication competencies, supervising carers and building relationships with our clients and their families. I have worked in care for over six years, and I love making a difference and enabling our clients to remain in their own homes.
I have enjoyed a varied career, initially as a secondary school teacher, after which I worked in recruitment. After taking time out to start a family, I chose a new avenue of work within the care industry. I worked as the Activities Co-ordinator within care homes, which I loved and could really see the benefits that a varied programme of activity brings to people’s lives. This, in turn, has inspired us to launch Arbour Companion and Care’s Enrichment Programme to support our clients and carers. Working in the care sector is extremely rewarding, and I am looking forward to bringing my combination of skills to this role.
In my spare time, I love to go running, walk my dog, do arts & crafts projects and spend time with my family.
I came from Mauritius to the United Kingdom to study accountancy then I joined the financial services industry. I am passionate about the care industry having initially worked as a carer while studying and looking after my disabled mother-in-law for 25 years as her main carer. I thrive to help carers and clients with finance with a kind and caring approach, which is different to my initial career in financial services.
In my spare time I enjoy yoga, swimming, travelling and long walks on a beach front.
