Bluebird Care (Portsmouth) provides care to people in their own home, allowing them to stay in familiar surroundings for as long as possible, without having to go into residential care.

They can provide anything from short, daily visits to 24-hour care, providing assistance with a range of domestic and personal tasks, including getting up and going to bed, preparing meals, accompanying to social events, personal care and medication.

Bluebird Care (Portsmouth) offers overnight care as well as live-in care for those who require support full-time. Respite care is also available to give a person’s usual carer a break.

The teams will provide person-centred care, according to your daily routine.

If your family lives afar, they can monitor your daily care notes from their mobile phones. With the Passystem, you can see whether the carer has come and what they did for your beloved. The teams will ensure that certain problems get spotted and reported back to the family and/or other care professionals. The team will advise when they think that the person is deteriorating and advise accordingly the next step.

They deliver more complex care as well. They support people with dementia, Parkinson's, Huntington's disease and people who suffer with long term illnesses or conditions.

They can manage most cases all the way to the end if that is the wish. The live in care team are people who will move in with the customer and stay with them for certain periods at the time to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Bluebird, have been offering care for my father initially on a companionship basis, but now on a care basis. They have been totally reliable and flexible in meeting my father's needs. They prepare food, change beds to do his washing, and once a week takes him shopping. They arrange social events which
they take him to and from.
He really appreciates his visits; which are currently at lunchtime and early evening. His needs will increase, and we will review his care as the situation changes.
Having Bluebird caring for my father has given me much greater peace of mind, and he looks forward to their visits.
I have nothing bad to say about the service they provide.

Bluebird Care has provided a very good service generally for my 90-year-old Mum and 93-year-old Aunt who share a house together. All the office staff are very efficient, and always act promptly on requests and queries. The carers are attentive and thorough, ensuring that everything is in order before
they leave.
Best of all, they are cheerful and good company for these two elderly clients. When there was a recent emergency; their care and support was really excellent - not leaving until the situation was resolved.

The people that come in are very professional, happy and a pleasure to have come in our home.


Their timekeeping is very good and always mention any concerns.


My son sometimes has difficulty in accepting new people into his life, let alone personal care, but Bluebird have been great at keeping

the number of carers to as few as possible.

Sophie Emmess

Sophie was keen to find a company that shared the values she herself stands for; compassion, looking after staff and working to provide excellent customer service. She was thrilled when she came across Bluebird Care Portsmouth. Sharing these beliefs and values, Bluebird Care provides bespoke care and ensures customers' needs are the number one priority.


Having been in the care industry for more than 10 years, by working in residential homes and support houses, Sophie has finally found her career path. She feels very much at home in domiciliary care, as well as being part of a devoted company and a passionate care team.

Sophie is a prime example of a Care Manager who has worked her way through the ranks. Originally a care coordinator, Care supervisor and then a business development officer, Sophie knows the care sector ins and outs. She is well respected by her staff and will ensure that your interest in care will be taken into account and respected. Sophie has QCF Level3 in Social health care and is now studying to complete her QCF level 5 in Health Care management.


In her spare time, Sophie enjoys running and challenging herself, completing courses like Tough Mudder. We are sure that if you put any challenge in front of Sophie, she would gladly accept and conquer.

She is responsible for guiding you through the process of tailoring your care wishes and needs and she works very closely with our Care Assistants to ensure you get the best care possible. Jade has worked for Bluebird Care Portsmouth since 2016 as a Care Assistant but has since grown into our Care Supervisor in 2021.


Jade is extremely passionate about person-centred care and ensures each customer has a care plan tailored to their needs, which also enhances their personal ability and dignity.


When she's not working hard in our Portsmouth office, Jade enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cleaning like Mrs Hinch and winding down at home with her son.

Laura

Laura Ewen

Job Title: Home Care Coordinator Joined: 2021

Laura is in charge of the organising of rostering. Whilst we all will have a preference for certain time slots, we do not want to over-promise and not deliver. When a new customer makes an enquiry, Laura will try to get it in at the specified time if possible looking at our staff availability and our current customer base.


She will endeavour to ensure that our customers will get it as close as within a half hour in front or after if there is no option. Otherwise, we will make a suggestion of time and make a proposal on what one can accept or decline.
Laura is a seasoned care coordinator and will try to make everyone happy, ie our customers as well as our care assistants. Whilst we know that sometimes people prefer a certain carer, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the person at all times. You will need to accept several care assistants to your team.
