Overall Experience

We used Home Instead to help my husband get out of the house a couple of times a week after an illness. The carers he had were supportive and professional and did their best to help him get back to his normal life.

From the start the agency staff were helpful and professional. My friend was unsure he needed assistance and was reluctant however the Staff member was very professional when doing the assessment and explained everything and what services were on offer. She took time to get to know my Elderly friend and this was appreciated. Unfortunately he only had Care package and staff come in for a short time because he went to hospital and then a Care Home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend my Local agency (Enfield).

My nan was very well taken care of at Hone instead Enfield. They put her needs first with comforting her, doing her nails, brushing her hair, sitting, feeding, cleaning and waiting for her to fall asleep. I would recommend them to anybody and use them again if I need to. Thank you so much.

I can't fault the care and attention my gran received. The office was helpful in queries and the carers were very attentive to my grans needs. They helped with putting on cream, washing, helping her sleep. I would use them again.

My dad came home from hospital after being treated for colitis and needed quite a bit of support in those first few weeks. He's always been very independent and was nervous about people helping him so closely, especially with personal care.
The carers from Home Instead (Enfield) were brilliant with this. They didn't push him into anything, they took things at his pace and explained what they were doing so he felt more in control. Over time he became a lot more comfortable and even looked forward to their visits, which we honestly didn't think would happen.
They've been reliable, respectful and patient. The communication with us as a family has also been very good, so I always felt reassured knowing how he was doing day to day.
I honestly cannot thank the team enough for the difference they've made to Dad's recovery and to our peace of mind. We would HIGHLY recommend Home Instead to anyone in a similar situation - 5/5 service from start to finish.

In November 2021 my mother-in-law had major surgery due to a ruptured bowel and was discharged with a non-reversible Stoma which at the age of 88 was very scary and stressful. She was discharged without a care package in place but thanks to my daughter having worked for Home Instead at a different branch, she sprung in to action and the next thing we knew the manager from the Enfield branch appeared with an experienced carer.
On the 1st July 2025 my father-in-law was discharged from hospital with talk of a care package but I had already contacted Home Instead to check availability and I was extremely pleased and encouraged to be able to talk to the same manager and office person. I also found out the same carers who so brilliantly got mum back on her feet, with the confidence to be independent, were still part of the Home Instead family in Enfield. Dad is already getting stronger with their dedicated care and attention to little details.

All their carers are amazing :)

I cannot thank the team at Home Instead Enfield enough. I had a stroke 2 weeks ago, and they have been incredible in helping me get back on my feet literally. The carers are extremely well trained and managed to ensure care needs are met. They are all so kind and caring, and their visits are the highlight of my day. I feel safe in their hands, and it is of great comfort to know I can rely on them 100%.

We are so grateful for the wonderful care and support the team provided for our Grandma. From the very beginning, they were incredibly supportive and always offered the right advice, which gave our family real peace of mind.

The carers were professional, kind, and clearly committed to high standards. It made such a difference knowing she was in safe and compassionate hands. The office staff were also a pleasure to deal with, always happy to help and quick to respond to any queries.

Their on-call service was a real lifeline, especially during weekends when we needed urgent advice or assistance. They were always there when we needed them.

One extra service that really helped was their nail care, which had become difficult for us to manage ourselves. It made such a difference to my Grandma's comfort and dignity.

We can't thank the team enough for the care and respect they showed. Highly recommended.

The Home Instead Enfield team were fantastic, we were in a very difficult situation and they were able to arrange carers to come in on just one day's notice. The manager was great, she was sensitive throughout, receptive to the changes we needed as the situation developed, quick to respond to calls and messages, and overall took a huge weight off all our minds. The team who came in were kind and thoughtful, responsive to our friend's requests and proactive in the care they provided. Thank you so much to everyone who supported during the short time we needed you, I would have been lost without your help.

The carers were fantastic, totally dedicated to their clients and very caring. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend Home Instead. They were always cheerful and treated mum with respect.

They would often do shopping for her or accompany her to hospital appointments. They prepared food for her and did all the personal care for her

Home Instead Enfield provided carers for my father at home while he was under palliative care. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, sensitivity and dedication of the whole Home Instead Enfield Team. Care was organised very quickly, transitions between carers were well organised, and carers training as well as care standards were exceptional. The manager who organised the team was truly dedicated, turning up on site the first day of care and was always available to discuss any concerns, or just answer questions we had for reassurance etc. The whole team was very approachable and our experience was made easier by Home Instead Enfield. As a family we were there with my father doing what we could but as we were not professional carers and had no experience of performing caring duties. The care Home Instead Enfield provided helped give us peace of mind that my father was well cared for, and as comfortable as could be. Thank you Home Instead Enfield.

Living far away from a frail 93-year-old relative suddenly needing reliable home care, we faced the challenge of having to entrust her day-to-day welfare entirely to a third party. Thankfully, our decision to choose Home Instead for that role proved the right one. Over the 6 years our cousin spent in the agency's care, the support given was always pro-active and comprehensive. The close relationships her Carers built up with our cousin became invaluable and their kindness and companionship helped sustain her spirits through what would otherwise have been lonely times. The Carers on-line Activity Log, giving instant access to our cousin's condition and welfare each day, proved invaluable. The dependable care provided by the front-line care staff was matched by the office support team, helpinig us to organise our cousin's day-to-day needs in terms of groceries, meals, clothing, medications and more. Occasional emergencies, some out-of-hours, were always dealt with really efficiently.

I can honestly say that from the very first point of contact with the care manager, she made me feel so at ease with her support and knowledge in what care needs we needed for my father. All was arranged so effortlessly. You can feel from the manager and all the office staff and careers that they really are passionate about caring for our loved ones.
All the carers that were appointed to my father's home were amazing. The manager also arranged to have Greek-speaking carers as my parents couldn't communicate well in English.
I would highly recommend Home Instead for all your care needs.

They also arranged to apply for a Blue Badge and I couldn't believe it arrived within a few weeks.

Fantastic service. We utilised Home Instead's service for over two years. From initial contact to the end the carers and staff were exemplary. Overall Experience
The care manager, was fantastic when we faced an emergency situation due to my grandmothers regular carer having to go abroad on short notice.

Sohini was helpful and understanding and came out on the weekend. The carer has been consistent and has clearly had great training.

Alexandra Sacker

Alexandra has been working within the health and social care industry for the past 10 years, starting Home Instead Enfield together with Alistair in 2016. Her past experience ranges from being a Home Manager for young adolescents across North London to working in the financial sector and the travel industry. For many years she was part of Robert Swan OBE's Antarctic expedition team helping with fundraising and operations.

Alex not only has a drive for exceptional organisation, but she is also 100% dedicated to providing quality care and first-class service. Her passion for caring for the elderly stems from her younger years when she witnessed both her grandmother's health issues, one with Alzheimer's and the other with severe mobility issues.

Sohini Shah

Sohini has worked within the adult social care sector for 6 years, after studying Psychology at the University of Nottingham.

Sohini started her career as a team manager for a supported living Scheme. There, she worked with clients with learning difficulties and aiding their developmental skills. She then went on to work as a Care Manager in East London which specialised in dementia care. Sohini now joins us as a Care Manager. We are delighted to have her positive energy on board and welcome her to the Home Instead Family.
