Home Instead helped us with a range of in-house services for our ailing mother, who opted to stay at home, and our father, who resided in assisted living. Home Instead was always willing to help, available and affordable. They replied to requests promptly, provided high-quality service and invoiced accurately. The Home Instead staff were warm, friendly and respectful and our parents very much appreciated their help and companionship. Highly recommend.

The caregivers that looked after my husband were all very kind, friendly, efficient and hardworking. My husband particularly liked the relaxed atmosphere and banter. They were all concerned for my welfare as well and helped me with any tasks I asked. The visits always ended with a friendly chat. The family are all satisfied and appreciative of the care and support during our time at Home instead Bedford.

I came out of hospital very weak and unable to do all the normal things to look after myself. My caregiver came 3 times a day to start with. She has helped me regain my strength and confidence. She has always treated me as an equal so it's a good, strong relationship. I would recommend Home Instead without hesitation.

My aunt was only a client with Home Instead for 6 months. From the day of the assessment late last year, there was so much thought in getting the right fit caregiver for my Aunt. Like many elderly people, she was fiercely independent, wanting no one doing her personal care or invading her personal space. She had been needing help for a very long time, so it was a triumph getting to this stage. She had one caregiver, who read my Aunt very well, she was gentle and listened to my aunt's stories. This was exactly what we needed as she had become so lonely and isolated, being near deaf and with dementia, she needed a friend, another person to watch over her, allowing her to feel wanted and still a person, peace of mind for the family. We were about to introduce another caregiver, to give a bit of variety, but unfortunately, my Aunt became unwell, Home Instead listened and helped where they could to make her last weeks at home safe and dignified. The introduction of the care app was invaluable.

All the caregivers have been genuinely caring, understanding, ready to encourage Mum to enjoy her days whilst still being restricted with the lockdown. A breath of fresh air and walk around the garden brings a smile and for wet days a chat, a puzzle but always doing the essentials and making sure she is comfortable and has enjoyable meals. Always ready to listen, always the extra mile. An excellent CareGiver Service everybody gives their best, but any slip or emergency dealt with immediately and professionally. Well done everybody.

From the first meeting I had with Home Instead staff in January, I knew they would be the right choice to look after my elderly parents in their nineties, both diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The bond that has been built up between them and the carers who visit twice a day, is genuine and wonderful and they look forward to seeing them, having a chat and a laugh, at the same time I know they are being looked after with respect and dignity, and helped with their medication and personal needs. I can go back to being their daughter instead of their carer, and enjoy my time with my parents in a different way. Home Instead have been a blessing to us and I don't know what I would do without them.

The care staff have been brilliant with our family member suffering from dementia, we thought that she would not adapt to care services by a 3rd party but she did and is very happy. The staff are very willing to do whatever is needed to help out during their visit, Staff are not changed unless absolutely necessary. The online record service is also great so that I can log in and check what has been done each day and who has visited. Would definitely recommend and use again if necessary.

Dad has been having evening and weekend visits from Home Instead for the last month. He has been very happy with them. They are interested to hear about his life and ask him questions. He is happy to chat and looks forward to the visits.
Very pleased with the support being given with regard to meal preparation, light household tasks and companionship. Thorough fact-finding carried out at the initial visit and regular follow-ups in place to ensure that everything is still meeting with our requirements.

Initially help was needed for a light lunch for me plus some cleaning eg of lounge and hall carpet or similar. Recently with less hours now (my choice of 2 a week) the concentration is on shopping for meals. Even now I hope we'll continue with the occasional fun/relaxing 2 hours!
Have found all Home Instead staff we have had contact with (either carers or management) to be very professional and caring at all times, often going out of their way to help. This applies to the client (my husband) and myself.
My father, who has dementia, is in a local care home where he is well cared for, but bored. Home Instead provide an excellent male carer who comes twice a week to take Dad out. The carer will take Dad wherever he wishes to go, for example for lunch at the pub or to a local attraction that Dad wishes to visit. He has also taken responsibility for taking Dad to, and making for him, dental appointments for a new dental plate to be made - the family are all a distance away and the care home was less than reliable in this respect. It is a huge relief to us and has made a significant difference to Dad’s well-being. I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead.

Nothing is too much trouble - meals, shopping, dog walking, showering, laundry and all the personal help, which is sometimes needed. I feel very confident if I have to leave home with the ladies present.
I am very content with the service provided, always reliable, helpful and friendly.
As a member of my family and myself do not need any special care yet I cannot comment on care/support. The staff who come to do the cleaning for me have all been very friendly, polite and helpful and in general very good company.
Caregivers are very attentive and knowledgeable. The admin team respond to requests etc on a timely basis with cheerfulness. All in all, they walk on water and only occasionally fall in.
Both carers sent by Home Instead (weekdays and weekend were different ones) were outstandingly skilled at working with Mum and everyone is really happy Mum is now clean and comfortable.
Would definitely recommend them (I was recommended them by my best friend). Thank you Home Instead.

Wendy joined the Home Instead Bedford team when it first opened in 2015. She has undertaken lots of training and is wonderful with her clients with complex needs.
