Novus provide care for both my parents who have Alzheimer’s and dementia. My mother's needs are complex. I was recommended Novus from a friend who lived in the area, as their previous carers were not adequate. It has taken a few months but there is now a continuity in their regular carers which is important
to both my parents routine. The care provided is of a very high standard. The carers are always cheerful, patient and genuinely provide kindness and respect at all times, even under challenging circumstances. The communication with the office management is efficient and I am always kept up to date. They provide access to my parents care app so I can monitor care visits and any comments. I would find it helpful if I could add comments to this app rather than having to leave notes on their table? Overall both my parents are happy with the service provided and I would not hesitate in recommending Novus Care.

Very good service. They try to accommodate all your wishes. The staff is very caring and considerate. Very happy with the company, even though my Mum will never be happy with anybody other than me. They respect my home as Mum lives with me, so it is hard having people walking in and out. Some of the
carers feel like a part of the family.

All the girls are lovely. They are helpful, caring and cannot do enough for dad. They engage in conversation with him and have a laugh whilst putting his welfare and dignity to the forefront. We have complained about other care companies. But Novus Care should feel proud of their staff they send out
to care for people.

Staff not properly trained or disciplined. Management unprofessional. Staff and call times are unreliable.

Novus Care looks after my dad he has dementia as well as other health problems. We have been with them for over a year now, there are good and bad the manager will sort out any problems that we have, and help us with getting things for my dad to make his life easier. Most of the carers are caring and
know what they are doing, but there are a couple that are not too sure. Communication between carers and office is not always good, so I have a notebook to leave messages between me and the carers which makes it easier. I do not mind the girls contacting me if there is a problem with dad. I did have an issue a little while ago with having 16 different carers in over a 2 week period, my dad was getting confused, and each carer has their own routine so his routine kept changing, but that is being sorted out now. Overall I am pleased with the care my dad receives, and the girls are friendly and caring, also they do an end of life plan, that will be really helpful, as my dad wants to die at home, I would recommend them to anyone.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
