Abney & Baker - Bath

I have been a client of Abney and Baker for a month now and they have been fantastic. I left hospital at the end of January and went to a care home for some respite. I was keen to come home but it was clear that I needed some care support to facilitate this. At the beginning I was slightly apprehensive about having a different carer every day, but I didn't need to have worried as they all keep in touch with what is going on with me and each of them is lovely and actually bring different qualities with them. Would recommend wholeheartedly! It is also a very well-managed company.

All carers are brilliant! I couldn't pick any of them out as a favourite because they are all lovely people.

I am visited on a regular basis by the care manager, any difficulties with relationships or work content are discussed in an open manner and changes agreed and made. From time to time I need to make urgent contact with the manager (e.g. to change arrangement when taken to hospital at short notice), that is usually a straightforward process however there can be delays but they have been overcome. I have the fullest confidence in the service manager to take prompt action

Abney & Baker provide consistently kind, reliable, and respectful care for my elderly mum. Every carer treats her with patience and genuine warmth, and they always take the time to make sure she feels comfortable. Over time, they've become, in many ways, an extension of the family.

They are attentive and supportive, communication is excellent, and the whole team is both dependable and professional. The support and services provided by Abney & Baker have genuinely made a real difference to Mum's ongoing wellbeing and to our peace of mind as a family - I'm honestly not sure what we would do without them.

My dad started needing additional care for Alzheimer's from Sept 2025. We have been pleased with all aspects of the service we have received from the team. We began with three visits a week. As my dad's needs have rapidly changed, it has been helpful to discuss with the team options for increased care. Communication is excellent. We have good feedback online after each visit. We also have a family/carers book in the house to send notes to each other to ensure day-to-day issues are sorted out quickly. I have been impressed with the number of times the team has taken the initiative to sort a problem out or gone the extra mile to help. Having a small team that visits mean that they have got to know my dad really well. Changes in his health can be picked up quickly. They have had to use tact and diplomacy to work around my mum (who also has dementia) but have done this brilliantly to keep everyone happy. The team that visit are are cheerful, enthusiastic, positive, patient and professional

I am happy with the service I use. The carers are friendly, helpful and cheerful.

Always cheerful and proactive in improving the care provided and adapting to person requirements. During the review process, Mum is always laughing and happy due to the management's positive and cheerful approach. Very kind service and always accommodating to Mum's needs.

All the staff have been good and helpful and kind to me.

From the first day that the carers started looking after my mother, they showed nothing but kindness, compassion and patience. They would do things just how my mother wanted them to be done as she could become agitated if things were not done how she would do them. The personal care delivered was also to a high standard and the family was confident that our mother was in safe hands. All the carers were very vigilant with Mum's health issues, raising any concerns at an early opportunity. The relief I felt knowing that all the carers were on top of things was immense. It felt like the carers had become friends and my mother valued their company. Sadly we've had to stop using Abney & Baker as my mother has had to move into a nursing home.

I feel very confident when I leave her with her carer while I leave the house to work on my business.

Abney & Baker are providing meal and shower support to my elderly mother and have been so flexible and accommodating at all times. They really do care and go above and beyond at every opportunity. Highly recommended.

The managers were exceptionally helpful, responsive, attentive and empathetic to our needs when looking for a carer. Super impressed with how well the company is organised and for the extremely flexible service they offer.

The staff are friendly and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Care staff take an interest in the individuals and seek to enhance the lives of people in their care by taking them out or helping with tasks around the home. The staff are always polite. Thank you.

Staff are very attentive and communication is excellent whether it’s by text or by leaving notes. Absolutely all very friendly and engaging, very comfortable to work with. All requests are always observed and my aunty is clearly comfortable with all who help.

Reliable individualised personal care. Listens to clients and supports them in whatever they need. They show kindness, compassion and dedication to their job. They have staff that clearly enjoy their job.

I've nothing much to say except the service and the people that do it are brilliant. I just cannot believe how different my home looks after my weekly visit and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody if needed. Once again a big thank you for an excellent service.

When I first knocked on the door of the office, I was warmly welcomed. The team swiftly put 3 nurses a day to call upon my mother and take care of her. In every way from good manners, empathy, understanding and kindness the team has made my mother's days brighter. I could not have managed to keep Mum at home without the special care provided. Her dignity and staying in her own home, have been the view of all our family. We all feel very lucky indeed, as the care is excellent on every level and in every way. Thank you.

I have been very grateful to have the support of Abney & Baker in caring for my mother. She needs support but does not want it and can be quite difficult. Throughout Abney & Baker have shown great understanding and have been brilliant helping my mother. I know that I can rely on their support and I am very grateful that I can be assured they are always there.

I was very impressed with the care provided by the Bath care team. They were professional, kind and reassuring. Contact was easy and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately, she has now had to go into full-time care now due to falls, but with their help, we were able to keep her in her own home for much longer than we anticipated. We are extremely grateful for all their help. We would highly recommend them.
