Choosing a care provider is always a difficult time and we are so pleased and relieved that we decided to use Home Instead. Every aspect of our father’s care was dealt with professionally and with great sensitivity. We couldn’t have been more fortunate with the carer they found us and the management support was just brilliant.

All the care professionals from Home Instead have dealt with Mum in a caring, friendly manner and have always treated her with kindness and respect; they’ve often gone the extra mile when any issues have arisen. Under their supervision, she has progressed amazingly well after her long stay in hospital and has regained her strength and confidence. I live a couple of hundred miles away and Mum and I need a care provider that is reliable and does things properly. The service given by both the care professionals and the office-based staff at Home Instead has been exemplary and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

The team from Home instead were highly professional and cared for my late father with great understanding and flexibility. My family will forever be grateful for the efforts of all concerned during a difficult time. I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

My 84-year-old mother with dementia needed daily help from a caregiver each morning in October 2021 after a fall. We feel so fortunate that we found Home Instead. From the start they were helpful, informative, flexible and kind. The care my mother received was excellent. They did such a wonderful job in helping to bring back her confidence after her fall that she no longer needs the extra help at the moment. We will both be forever grateful.

My experience of Home Instead is only my second experience of establishing care for my 91-year-old parents. And the difference between the 2 organisations is marked. Home Instead have, from the get-go, been conscientious, responsive, flexible, compassionate, enthusiastic and above all extremely understanding of the sensitivities and anxiety around making difficult decisions about a challenging time in the lives of 2 very independent people! From the manager, trainer, scheduler, owner, to the charming, kind and caring caregivers themselves-everyone seems to want to do their best for my parents to make life that bit more comfortable. The caregivers are all very different, each with her strengths and it is a great comfort to know that the relationship between each of them and my parents continues to be supportive and caring.

My fear is, this pandemic could be carried by any carer who has not agreed to be vaccinated!

My caregiver really cares about what she does, and she cares about me as a person as well as helping me to do things that help me to stay independent. Without her help and experienced support, I could not continue to live where I do. I also love the chance to talk about so many things and memories.

Home Instead provide excellent care for our mother. They are reliable, caring, organised and good communicators. The carers are excellent and genuinely care for our mother. They also appear well supported by management e.g. illness or logistical challenges. They are also all excellent at communicating with me and my siblings. I honestly cannot fault them.

My present carer is extremely kind and thoughtful, very dependable, always here in time.

I have been most impressed by the courtesy, care and kindness of the carers who are very hard working and helpful.

From my personal experience and my views which I have been happy to confirm as below, there is little I can add in this review, however, I feel one could well add 'kindness' and 'encouragement' both of which I have received from all I have come into contact with.

I knew nothing about Home Instead (Folkestone, Hythe & Ashford), I found them on the internet when I needed a carer for an elderly friend. I was so pleased with the service that I received in setting up this provision and the ongoing care. Home Instead (Folkestone, Hythe & Ashford) were wonderful in every respect. They always answered the phone and were understanding and helpful. They kept a regular check on their client and reported anything that might cause a problem. The carers were lovely, friendly and did everything possible to make my friend happy.

The team go above and beyond, I can rest assured that when my mother has a problem she will not be left alone and the carers call me and wait until I get there to relieve them. Any concerns even out of hours the office is quick to respond and rectify. For the most part, she has the same carers who treat Mum as a member of their family with plenty of time to chat.

My sister and I have employed Home Instead caregivers to care for our Mum for over two years now. We both live a considerable distance away from Mum, and having a caregiver visit daily has provided my sister and me with much-sought comfort and peace of mind knowing that Mum is seeing a friendly face and having someone checking in on her daily.

I find it really easy to communicate with all of the office staff either by phone or email, and they always respond quickly to me. They never seem to mind when I sometimes call them consistently a few days at a time to maybe offer suggestions to help them with Mum's care.

We have been lucky and managed more or less to keep to the same caregivers, which promotes Mum's trust, plus they really have got to know our Mum well with her likes, dislikes, mood changes and habits.

If we have ever needed extra visits for Mum, nothing is too much trouble, and the office has always managed to accommodate.

Carers visit my mother, who is 96 and suffers from dementia, four times a day. They are very helpful, friendly and attentive and it is thanks to them that my mother is able to continue living in her own home. They help with a number of tasks including dressing, showering, giving medication, cooking, cleaning, shopping and providing companionship. They provide an excellent service.

They were always kind and considerate, even when my husband repeated his requests because he forgot what he said. They were extremely patient and thoughtful and attentive to his every need.
