We have been using Home Instead for over 4 years now. My elderly mum has mobility issues and needs help with daily tasks. She also has full mental capacity. Her care visits include companionship which is desperately needed for her mental well being as well as her physical needs. We are very lucky to have such wonderful carers for her.
My mother has wonderful support from the lady who visits her each week. She is helpful and supportive, in addition to being great company!
It is very comforting to know when circumstances don't allow family members to support as much as they'd like that a reliable, trusted and kind person is able to be there. So a big thank you for all you do - it makes a big difference to the quality of my mums day to day life.
Thank you!
Only an excellent agency like this could provide these evolving care needs.
The team at Folkestone were very supportive to us as a family and the care shown to Mum over the last couple of years has been wonderful. They've shown kindness and compassion throughout mums care and as a family my brother and I felt assured our Mum was getting the best care. Alongside us we all worked together to make sure Mum was safe and happy
My sister and I had taken care of both Mum and Dad for many years ourselves. After Dad had passed away and Mum grew more dependant on us for help, we took the decision to look for a care agency to assist us. I did as much research as possible online and asked friends of whom to use. We chose Home Instead, the best choice we could have made. Right from the first meeting through to Mums passing several years later, they were absolutely brilliant. From the girls in the office who were available for advice, to the wonderful carers, Jo, Gill, Sue and Evie, I cannot recommend them high enough for their professionalism and kind hearts. As Mums Dementia grew more advanced, we arranged for the care team to call in more often. It was a great comfort to us knowing Mum was in safe hands at the times we could not be there. Mum grew very fond of them all and we were so pleased that the carers could attend the funeral. Thank you Home Instead, you are a credit to your profession.
They provided care for our lovely Mum Joan for more than seven years, they not only provided the personal care that she needed but also were like extended family, singing along with Mum to her old favourites and always going the extra mile with no rush even when the girls were over their scheduled time.
A special thank you to Michelle and Debbie who were with Mum from the start.
Also a special thank you to Sophie and Corrine who were with Mum in her final hours when family couldn't be.
There were problems with a member of our family who decided to interfere during the last 18 months of Mum's care, but Kishore, Sharmila, Carina and the team managed this situation very professionally and tactfully even though the family member was often making things difficult for the carers.
Thank you so much again for looking after our lovely Mum x
I am very pleased with my carers - they look after me very well, doing all of the tasks that I ask them to, and I trust them completely. Continuity leaves a lot to be desired. The scheduler knows that I will be complaining if I do not have the same time slots and carers except in unusual circumstances. If I am going to have a shower, I prefer the more mature ladies. Regular carers know where things are stored.
Being very disabled now, I find I am gaining a little extra confidence with every visit.
Mum's 'Home Instead' carers are, without exception, professional and kind. They bring more to the visits than excellent personal care. They take an interest in Mum as a person and offer a variety of conversations to enrich her day. We could not care for Mum at home as we do without their input.
My dad is very happy with the support he receives and considers his carer as a friend.
All the Care Pros that come to see Dad are wonderful. He has some mobility issues and can be a bit sleepy at times, but they are all very patient with him. They are also very encouraging to me as I am Dad's main carer.
I would like more mixed carers in the evening sometimes. as have a male carer several nights in a row. Would like a lady carer in between male visits.
Timing of visits has improved lately.
My experience with my caregiver has been excellent. She arrives on time, is appropriately dressed, always friendly and helpful. She makes me feel very comfortable with very personal help and can always think outside the box. I feel most comfortable that she is my care provider.
All management and caring seem to be spot on. I am pleased with all communications, the quarterly reviews, and how carers keep an eye out for any health changes that they notice. I am happy for this service to continue.
Timely, prompt and friendly visits. With all tasks efficiently carried out. We receive regular visits from a small team. We appreciate the variety of personalities, obviously we don't want too big a team but a bit of variety is great.
I needn't have worried. The manager who came to visit us was lovely. Understanding, knowledgable, empathetic and efficient.
The carer companion she selected for us is a perfect "fit". She is capable, caring and understanding.
Both myself and my husband feel safe and comfortable with her.
Well done Home Instead.
Was using the service for a few hours each week. Then had a health crisis with my husband, within 24 hours they had set up all the help I needed including overnight waking care. It was all up and running before the OT (Occupational Therapist), physio, etc visited 3 days later. Amazing service.
We originally contacted Home Instead after a recommendation from another service user. My mother required some care sessions to help her with getting ready for the day ahead and ensuring she had breakfast and had taken her medication. Mum's initial assessment was done promptly and a care package was agreed. The 2 carers were very supportive and kind. We were contacted if there would be a change in any visit. Thank you to all at Home Instead on behalf of our family.
Choosing a care provider is always a difficult time and we are so pleased and relieved that we decided to use Home Instead. Every aspect of our father’s care was dealt with professionally and with great sensitivity. We couldn’t have been more fortunate with the carer they found us and the management support was just brilliant.
All the care professionals from Home Instead have dealt with Mum in a caring, friendly manner and have always treated her with kindness and respect; they’ve often gone the extra mile when any issues have arisen. Under their supervision, she has progressed amazingly well after her long stay in hospital and has regained her strength and confidence. I live a couple of hundred miles away and Mum and I need a care provider that is reliable and does things properly. The service given by both the care professionals and the office-based staff at Home Instead has been exemplary and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.
