I have been with "Wright Care At Home" since it just started up in 2016 and have had a fantastic time with lots of great times , laughs and top quality care . During my time with "Wright Care At Home" I have been to three concerts , [Bryan Adams , Level 42 and Sheryl Crowe.] I have been to the Cinema several times and been regularly taken to a wellbeing group run by a charity in Stamford on Thursday's . I will miss all the staff special thanks go to [ Margie , Sammy , Sarah , Claire , Julie Foster , Julie Taylor , Leigha , Jess ,Lucy , Nicola and many others . A special shout out out goes to Alison who found me last year unconscious in my bungalow , I had knocked myself out the previous day . I had been on the floor for twelve hours and I had Sepsis . She quickly phoned for an Ambulance and got all my medication and some clothes together , I was in Hospital for nearly four weeks . It's a big wrench to move on , but in life we evolve and new beginnings , but I will never forget you all . Thanks Philip .

Although Barbara is still very able & active so doesn't need a lot of help, your service gives her family peace of mind that she is being looked after for 4 mornings a week. I also enjoy reading the carers comments to know that Barbara is well & in good spirits.

Cannot fault the service provided. Each of the carers have their own style but are meticulous in carrying out housework. Dorothy is able to take a walk with the carers of the day if weather is suitable, which is something I cannot do as I have to use a mobility scooter. We consider ourselves luck to have found you. Very grateful.

My uncle has been supported at home with Wright Care for 15 months, gradually increasing the hours as he became more dependent. He was very reluctant initially to accept care, as he had been extremely independent but gradually got to know the carers as friends and accepted their help.
With the support of Wright Care, he was able to stay in his own home and continue to live independently. The care has been exceptional, meeting his needs and individualising his care. His carers go above and beyond.
Communication with me has been excellent from the office and an online visit report each time the carers see him.

I would highly recommend Wright Care at Home.

I want to thank everyone at Wright Care for the support they gave my sister over the last couple of years, until her death last month. My sister was very disabled with Parkinson’s but wanted to continue living independently in her sheltered housing complex. Wright Care did everything they could to help my sister maintain her independence, dignity and quality of life. She initially had three visits a day to assist with personal care and medication, and this was gradually increased to five visits a day as her health deteriorated. Wright Care was always extremely flexible, changing rotas at short notice to cope with medical emergencies, working alongside the Parkinson’s physio and district nurse to problem solve and make sure my sister had the right equipment to be cared for safely. Carers also provided my sister with companionship, took her shopping and to local appointments, and even helped her to make marmalade and rocky roads. We were touched that so many carers came to see my sister in her last week to say goodbye.

Reply from Samantha Wright, Care Director at Wright Care at Home

Thank you for your kind words, it was our pleasure to support your sister. She is extremely missed in our carer's days. We always loved listening to her pastimes and her love of making jams and marmalades. She had such a beautiful service and we feel honoured to of been part of that too. Such a treasured customer who we will fondly always remember.

I was very impressed with the high standard of care shown to my brother and the quick and efficient way the office dealt with problems. He knew who was coming each day and they let him know if they were late. I felt they were very supportive to both my brother and myself. My wife greatly values that she usually sees the same Wright Care carer whom she trusts and gets on well with.
Other members of the team have attended her from time to time and all have delivered the same high standard of care.
Fresh rotas are sent out each week so that we know in advance who to expect and when they will arrive. They are always punctual.

I can contact the Wright Care office (by phone or email) whenever there is something I need to discuss. The management team are always helpful and positive and seems to be extremely well organised.

In general, the service has been very good. I was especially pleased with the regularity of the timekeeping, something which is very important to us. Personalities obviously play a role in any relationship and our preference was for the calmer, quieter approach which was with a few exceptions present,
I did find on occasions additional members of staff arrived without prior warning causing a little overcrowding in our small living room.
I am very sorry that we cannot continue with your Care Company in our new financial situation, it would certainly have been my first choice.

Many thanks to all at Wright Care.

Meet the Team (11)

Samantha Wright Job Title: Founder, Director and Nominated Individual Joined: 2016
Samantha Wright

I’ve worked in Health and Social Care for the last thirteen years, in a variety of settings gaining a wealth of experience. I started as a care support worker delivering home care and then worked my way through the ranks of management to where I am now.

I have a background in customer service. I was a manager of a retail store in Stamford before moving to find a more rewarding career in Health and Social Care.

After working in a variety of care settings I had always had a passion and determination to set my very own care company up providing a wide range of services within my home town.

First hand knowing what good practice is I have always strived on delivering the best customer service. In 2016, I achieved a personal dream and I am fully committed to ensuring ‘Wright Care at Home’ provides a high standard of care, continuity and service to all our customers. Not only that but ensuring I have the best team to make sure this happens.’

Wright Care at Home is a small family run business. It was set up in January 2016 by my late father Simon Wright and myself. Unfortunately 2 years into our journey we lost Simon our co-founder in an accident. After personally witnessing what person-centred care should look like, I strive on to keep his ethos alive within the company.

He would be proud of how far we have come today.

My role is to support my management team and ensure they have all the tools and passion to continue delivering a great service and also to keep the compassion at the heart of all they do.

Since the birth of my twin daughters, I support the drive of the business forward with new innovative ideas and ensure standards are maintained. This is my dream and I'm excited for what the future holds for all of us.

Margie Wright Job Title: Admin Director Joined: 2016
Margie Wright

Margie has supported the set up of Wright Care at Home with her wealth of experience in administration and her excellent organisation skills.

I have been involved in Customer Service Industries for most of my working life. This, coupled with an early family involvement with St. John Ambulance set me up perfectly for supporting my step-daughter, Samantha in establishing Wright Care at Home.

I currently work on the “mechanics” of the Business. Premises, equipment, advertising etc. I am also the Nominated Individual for Wright Care at Home meaning I am to available to staff members in order to support them with their chosen careers.

Sarah Palmer Job Title: Registered Care Manager - Safeguarding Lead Joined: 2016
Sarah Palmer

My calling for care came at a young age when I saw a loved one receive such attentive care and support whilst battling through their journey with cancer. It was at this point I knew I was destined for the industry.

I have worked for over 15 years in various care support roles across different settings, including elderly, palliative, learning disabilities and dementia care.

When my good friend, Sammy, started to create this company, I knew that is where I needed to be. I started in 2016 when the company was founded, and I have not looked back since. My role as a carer and the previous experience I had behind me quickly enabled me to work hard through the ranks, from Care Supervisor to Deputy Manager and now where I currently am, being the Registered Care Manager.

Every day I am proud of the ethos we uphold and that I play even a small part in that. We have been through many highs and hard times emotionally since opening the doors in 2016 but I believe that has made us all stronger and even more focused to carry on the amazing, high-quality service that we do. I feel blessed to be where I am to support, encourage and mentor our incredible Wright Care at Home family.

Jane Abbey Job Title: Training Manager Joined: 2022
Jane Abbey

I joined Wright Care at Home in January 2022 and am very excited to take their training programme forward, upskilling the team and also learning from them as they all have gained substantial skills and knowledge during their careers.

I have worked with older people in various settings for over 35 years, starting off as a nurse, and moving on to Care home and Day centre management, as well as a spell in housing managing the independent living service, supporting older people in their own homes.

Moving into training seemed a natural step for me as I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills and watching people learn and grow in confidence as they learn new skills.

I am a mum to 5, Nanny to 8, and if you haven’t guessed by now, my family are my world.

Nicola Vickovic Job Title: Care Ambassador Joined: 2016
Nicola Vickovic

I’ve worked for Wright Care at Home from the beginning. I always remember my ‘Mum’ telling me there is no point in doing a job if you don’t enjoy it.

I can honestly say the work I do does not feel like a job, I absolutely love every minute.

In the two years I have worked for ‘Wright Care at Home’, I have achieved so many qualifications. All evidenced with a certificate. I love certificates! but my proudest moment and achievement is my recently awarded level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

We are not just a team here, but a family. I was so overwhelmed when I was approached from my Manager encouraging me to apply for an ambassador senior role. I feel honored to be in this role, I sat through a grueling interview and then my Manager Sammy at the end said I already knew you would fit the role.

I have utter determination, respect, trust for everyone in my team, for all I do and most of all my customers who I provide care to.

I am so proud of my career here and would never look back.

Tania Dixon Job Title: Care Worker Joined: 2016
Tania Dixon

I have been a carer for almost nine years now and joining Wright Care at Home is the best move I’ve ever made.

Their ethos, compassion, support and dedication shines through.

I have always been content to stay in this position but when I was given the opportunity to carry these attributes to new recruits and existing team colleagues to become an ambassador for the Company, how could I turn it down.

I love giving all my knowledge and experience to others, to watch them grow and flourish with such an outstanding Company. The close team work are what makes us unique and long may it continue.

Nicholas Bennett Job Title: Care Ambassador Joined: 2021
Nicholas Bennett

Nich joined us in 2021 as a care worker supporting one of our complex care needs customers. He quickly joined the senior team where he has been able to transfer his skills from a background working in law and previous experience in care settings.

Kerry Alexander Job Title: Care Worker - Stamford Joined: 2017
Kerry Alexander

I work in home care because I want to help vulnerable people to be able to stay in their own homes around their loved ones. I love meeting all our different customers as they all have so many different personalities. I love working for wright care at home because I believe they are the best care company!!!

Heather Wright Job Title: Bank Care Worker Stamford and Bourne Joined: 2018
Heather Wright

When my daughter Samantha set ‘Wright Care at Home’ with the help and support from her late father ‘Simon Wright’ I couldn’t have been more proud as she had worked so hard for her dream.

When I moved back from Suffolk and found I had a few hours in the evening spare she suggested I might enjoy a bit of bank work to help when needed in the community. I wasn’t quite sure I could still do it as I hadn’t delivered care since my late teens. How wrong I was I love it. The customers were and are lovely and it’s nice to hear about their lives and families and to cook suppers for them that they enjoy and look forward to. I know I make a difference.

Wright Care at Home is a person-centred company that goes above and beyond and I am delighted to be part of this family team and would highly recommend it to those who may be retired but have a few hours to spare to come to join this team.

You won’t be disappointed.

Donna Youngs Job Title: Care Worker - Stamford Joined: 2020
Donna Youngs

I started working for Wright Care in January 2020 and had no care experience, to be honest, I didn’t know whether I would even be able to fulfil my role, however, after the training and support from my colleagues, I knew this was the job for me.

I love making a difference in a positive way to the customers I visit and it helps them to stay living independently in their own homes.

I am proud to be a member of the Wright Care team.

Cherie Hammond Job Title: Care Worker - Stamford Joined: 2020
Cherie Hammond

I joined Wright Care at home in September 2020, in between lockdowns. It’s been a roller coaster year for us all and after losing my job at Alternatives, which offered a pregnancy and infant loss bereavement service, I was unsure of which way to turn within my career. After seeing a job advert for Wright Care at home I applied and straight away felt at home and excited to begin my journey after the job offer and I felt at home straight away. I now say I should have been doing this years ago and being a carer is more than a job to me.
