My husband is living with dementia, and I provide all his personal care. Prior to his diagnosis in 2016, he was a keen golfer and snooker player. He now spends three hours each week with a befriender who takes him to play snooker and will take him to golf when the weather improves. My husband loves this time, and I have three hours respite, which is well valued. He has a wonderful befriender who is professional, caring, reliable and friendly; providing a brilliant service.
Couldn't wish for a better more professional carer, who genuinely cares, he respects me, gives me choices and improves my life massively. He always ensures I am safe and that I have dignity.
Following a serious cardiovascular operation, my husband suffered a stroke. He needed help to recover at home when he was discharged from hospital. I feel I was very fortunate to hear about Home Instead. From the initial phone call, followed by a meeting at home and then the care itself, the service my husband and I received was first class and everything they said it would be. We were lucky enough to have the same carer almost every day from early January until recently when we no longer needed help. Our carer was experienced, compassionate and helpful. It was a pleasure to welcome him into our home at such a stressful time. The management were always at the end of the phone if I needed further help and advice. I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead Senior Care.
Many thanks for a lovely review. It has been a pleasure to have been there for you both and to see your husband get back to good health. I hope his good health continues. You know where we are should you need us in the future. All the best.
I needed help at home when I was discharged from hospital in early January 2019. My wife organised Home Instead Wakefield and I was very pleased with the service I received from them for three months to March 2019. My carer was delightful to deal with and I enjoyed his visits. He was compassionate, experienced, flexible and good humoured. Without his help, advice and supervision I'm sure I wouldn't have progressed as quickly as I did. He gave me confidence. I'm very grateful to my carer and the management team for all their efforts which were always provided in a dignified and respectful way.
Many thanks for taking the time to write this review. I will pass this on to your carer who as I know is delighted you are now back on your feet and so are we. We wish you all the best.
After several internet searches and many phone calls, I finally got through to the owner. He listened to my predicament, and my tears, and offered to come out and visit me the next day.
He came, with his manager, and we talked through the options. I signed up straight away. The way they both spoke about the importance of the individual, and how they worked, convinced me Mum would be in safe hands.
Since they started a month ago, I have had one occasion when I wasn't happy - the owner rang me to listen to my problem and addressed it straight away.
I feel confident in their care, reliability, communication and efficiency. They are slightly more expensive than some others, but because I feel I can trust them to look after Mum well, and dare go off for the day, or even the weekend, they are worth it.
Many thanks for the lovely review.
As a registered manager of a dementia care home, I am very aware of how important it is for families to trust the people who care for their relatives. I was anxious when I had to start looking for support for my son who has learning difficulties and is socially quite isolated. The support worker provided by your company is excellent, caring, understanding, patient and has built a trusting relationship with my son. I feel reassured with the support offered not only by your staff but also from your management and ability to match people with the person working with them. I would highly recommend your service. Thank you.
Thank you for such a lovely review. It is always good to receive such outstanding reviews and to get such a review by someone who holds a management position in a caring profession like yourself really does highlight your appreciation for what we do. Our CAREGivers really enjoy what they do and we...
The carer is a godsend. From day one she established an excellent rapport with my husband, she is efficient, caring, nothing fazes her and nothing is too much troublem she is a credit to Home Instead Senior Care.
Thank you for a lovely review. Its a pleasure to be there for your husband. I know that the career you have really enjoys being there for him and yes they have developed an excellent rapport. We couldn't have matched them up any better and all of us including your husbands career hope to continue to provide our services in future. Many thanks
A very rapid poorly planned discharge from hospital could have caused real problems but the care manager was able to respond extremely quickly and the personal care package was instantly implemented. Dad is a typical independent Yorkshire man but his carer was able to establish a very warm positive relationship. She was able to motivate Dad even on difficult days. The standard of his personal care was excellent and Dad would always say that he was treated with dignity. Regular reviews of Dad’s care take place with family involvement. Highly recommend.
Many thanks.
My mum has Alzheimer's and has been using Home Instead for several months now. I could not be happier with the service the carers and the management provide. I feel they always go the extra mile to provide great care, company and help to my mum. My mum looks forward to their visits and is extremely happy with her carers. I am also very happy as it gives me a great peace of mind there are people caring for my mum that I trust 100%. Thanks Home Instead!!
Thank you for your kind review. It is a pleasure for all of us here at Home Instead Senior Care Wakefield to be there for your mum. Our CAREGivers have developed a close bond with your mum and I know each of them look forward to the visits. We aim to continue this relationship and to continue to provide the level of service you are now accustomed too.
He was very helpful, very good company and kind. He felt more like a friend. He was happy to take me out and we went to some interesting places. I always looked forward to him coming to see me. He was a great help at a very difficult time.
We initially made contact in a crisis situation. We had a long and informative chat on the phone and got the impression this was the company we needed.... calm, professional and above all kind and knowledgeable.
There are many unknowns with ageing parents and to have someone who so genuinely enjoys the company of elderly people has made the situation manageable.
Recently things took a turn for the worse and they stepped in providing emergency care, taking all necessary actions and keeping us in the loop every step of the way. Supporting and transported our mother to the hospital as well as helping with her daily care, all way and above what was originally planned.
We've been kept up to date and they have known when to step in and when to step back.
Our parents have so enjoyed the visits and company.
This is the care that families need; not the box-ticking exercise that many companies provide, but professional, compassionate, genuine CARE to our entire family and we cannot thank you enough.
It was a great relief to have help and support we really needed. We always found the carer treated our mother with respect and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
I sat holding a bottle of Quink Ink pondering what to do with it. The answer was obvious but I still sat surrounded by memories. My little flat was full with music, books, handicrafts, letters and photos, so much that I could not reach my piano. Some should go but I hesitated to make decisions. There was a good reason for this but I needed to move on and visits from Home Instead Senior Care carers enabled me to progress. Now the ink has gone, the piano is in tune and there is space for visitors, and best of all my good friend who fell and broke her hip in the summer was brought here and we enjoyed it and both feel happier.

Hi, I’m James, and I am the manager of Home Instead Wakefield. I started my Home Instead journey in 2019 at another franchise, as Wellbeing Manager, before progressing to my current role last June. My main role is to oversee all the operations of the franchise.
When I’m not in the office, I’ll be watching a Premiership Rugby game or seeing my friends and family.
Hi, I’m Elouise, and I started at Home Instead as a Care Professional. I had previously worked in Accounts, and I was ready for a career move. I love meeting new people and helping make a difference in their lives, which is why I came to Home Instead, as all of their values align with mine. I have now progressed to the Office first, as a Care Coordinator, then on to Care Manager. My main priority now is making sure that all of our clients receive the premium service they expect from Home Instead. In my spare time, I like to relax at our caravan and go out for jet ski rides.
Hello, my name is Egle, I have been with Home Instead since 2021, started as a Care Professional with an open heart and have been enjoying every minute of my work journey since. In 2024 joined the office as Care Professional Experience Lead.
Courtney joined our team in 2025 as a full-time Care Coordinator, responsible for matching clients with Care Professionals and providing support to Elouise in the office.
